One word - AMAZING! A small town restaurant with great food and great service. It's under new ownership so expect a different and good vibe with great food. We started with the Zuccini Fritti, a simple but tasty appetizer. Then tried the Louisiana Gumbo and NY strip. The gumbo was spicy and tasty, even my husband liked it and he is not a fan of spicy. The NY Strip was served as ordered and full of flavor. We finished dinner off with their white chocolate cheese cake, which by the way is gluten free. We would have never known had we not been told. A great way to end a meal. For beverages, we decided to be adventurous and tried the Savauge wine, specifically Devils Prey. As somewhat of a wine conisuer, I was impressed with this Colorado wine - it's not your traditional CO wine. Smooth and tasty. This will definitely be our go to dinner place. Excited to try breakfast and lunch too. We recommend giving this place a try. While some of the reviews are concerned about prices and service - not our experience at all! I've been here several times at different times of day. The food is very hit or miss. It can be quite good, but sometimes it's burnt, flavorless or just plain sucks. The service is awful. There's one nice/great waitress and the rest will just forget you or go do pushups in the kitchen. (Not kidding. I saw it.) The drink selection sucks, no coke products, iced tea is bad and the orange juice is also bad and overpriced. You can have good food experience here, but it's a total gamble... and don't come thirsty! The guy who does the pushups should really be let go. He's an all around jerk and blames everyone else for his mistakes. Would love to see this place turn around and improve their decor! read more

This was a great place to have lunch after a long hiking day. This restaurant has one of the greatest pizza I've tasted in a long time, the chef prepared it just right in front of you, which makes the experience even better. To close the chapter with hot chocolate and bread pudding that hit in the right place. The service here was outstanding, super warm and friendly staff. This place is a classic style cafe. The waitress was very attentive. Killer chicken fried steak and gravy.

This is a fun local spot! The artwork and ambiance make it a perfect place to meet and hang out. I got The Usual, which was pretty standard diner fare indeed. Seems like a friendly. But once we got in there I felt like we needed special reservations or invitation. There was one other table besides us when we first sat down. As we sat there other tables were seated. Everybody was given a small little loaf of bread to eat while they ordered, we were not. The food was average my friend ordered jambalaya I ordered the pork and beans which was very average. Something I could make at home. Nothing special. But no bread was served with either order. So we asked for bread. We were given one dinner roll and had to share it. I felt like we were intruding in a club as everyone around us was getting excellent service. It like we were not welcome. Very expensive place to eat. For what? I consider very average food. read more

This is not the old Camilla's, this is fine dining with a friendly, family feeling and food that makes your mouth water. Amazing 14 day aged NY Strip cooked perfectly and the taste.... Not enough words to describe how mouth watering delicious and wonderful it is. Premier Chef/owner is amazing and if you leave before trying a fresh, handmade dessert, you do yourself a disservice. The Citron is perfection, handmade and unique. I dare you to try it and not fall in love and the service is impeccable. After the most excellent sunrise at the Colorado National Monument, driving Rim Rock Drive and playing with bighorn sheep, we were starved for a nourishing breakfast. We actually went to another restaurant first, sat inside for 5 minutes, and we're never greeted. I made the call to do a quick Yelp search and BOOM, Camilla's Kaffe appeared as a saving grace. As soon as we arrived, saw the big crowds, we knew this was where the locals eat. Hallelujah. The only knock here was ordering at the counter first. Originally we sat down, waited for a few minutes, then realized you had to order up at the counter. Must be a COVID-related protocol. Anyway, I think Camilla herself may have been behind the counter. The staff was definitely getting hit hard and they were doing their best during a busy weekend breakfast. Rellenos & Eggs // Dos huevos, dos rellenos, smothered in pork green chile served with hashbrowns and a warm tortilla. First off, it's worth noting the portion size was enough for a professional sports team. For $10.95 you're really getting your money's worth! Service. During busy days like today recommend have a dedicated host. I stood there for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. We as customers understand that busy days can be tough but a simple Hi, I'll be with you soon. Or even making eye contact. The hostess was putting dishes in the dishwasher, putting ice in bucket. We just had dinner at Camilla's under the new 2024 ownership and my goodness was it OUT OF THIS WORLD! I got the Salmon entree and Salmon cakes (this is the only place in Fruita serving Salmon so I had to get my fix!) they were both perfect and flavored so deliciously! My husband got the appetizer bread and the gumbo. The bread is homemade and has a rich history to the starter. The gumbo was also incredible, again so flavorful! My husband lived in NOLA for many years and is somewhat an expert and the owner also lived there so he knows his stuff! Really disappointed with the new owners of Camilla's. I ordered a chili relleno, which was great, but for $14.95 there was beans on the plate with no flavor, garnish, and lettuce! I asked the waitress and besides calling me sweetie, she shrugged her shoulders like this is it! "Do you want a side of lettuce?" The prices here are extremely high! read more

So flippin good!! I'm salivating thinking about it. Camilla is straight genius. The Chili Relano breakfast dish is off the charts too. Best chili relano I've ever had. Cheesy and crispy and smothered in the holy grail of green chili. I'm so jealous of Fruita for having such a bomb breakfast joint. Oh and if that wasn't enough, thier pancakes were AMAZEBALLS!! I think we definitely over ordered because the portion sizes were hefty but everything was so tasty!! Service was great as well!! Enough street parking but on weekend morning I imagine this place gets very busy and might need a reservation. Our cappuccinos were well made and served in big mugs! I had the bikers burrito which I modified to be vegetarian -- it was delicious but extremely filling w/ all the potatoes and eggs. My brother had the egg/cheese on everything bagel which was decent but his mistake for ordering a bagel out west; after growing up on NY/NJ bagels the rest of America really can't keep up. Anyways the real winner of our meal was the walnut-cranberry hotcakes --- SO GOOD! We ordered it as a side to just taste but I really should've just ordered the full portion. On a friend from Fruita's recommendation we tried to check this place out last year and just couldn't make it during business hours. Glad we decided to go again when we came back this year! The food is very, very good. Ordered the Tuna salad and Southwest wrap. Both came through with tons of flavor and freshness that you don't often get with most restaurant food. Service was friendly and super fast and the quaint ness of the place makes you feel very comfortable. Needless to say when we return to the area this will be a go to for sure! Had the rellenos under the new ownership last weekend and I was very disappointed. For $14.95 I got one tiny relleno (used to be 2 large ones) and dry home potatoes. The relleno tasted like it was a frozen one that was fried, the only thing that was redeeming was the pork green chili was very similar to what it was. Overall, I am disappointed that they didn't keep with the food Camilla's had because that's what gave them the awesome reputation they had. Bummer! read more

With the exception of the waitress that brought our food to the table being polite and engaging there is nothing to recommend. At Camilla's Kaffe you order your food at the counter and they add a 20% gratuity automatically to the bill. Coffee was served lukewarm, had to return it for a new pour. My wife and I ordered gyros with fries. Fries were cold and the gyros were bland, not much meat. Ambiance is very casual. Won't be returning. read more

We got to the restaurant at about 10 minutes past 8 am ( opens at 8 am) on a Saturday. There were many people already sitting outside eating. We ordered at the counter and sat outside. There were lots of seating options inside too. The staff was super friendly. My husband ordered an omelette with poblano peppers, avocado, spinach, tomatoes, onions and bell pepper. He enjoyed all the flavors. My kids ordered the an omelette with spinach, avocado and black olives they too enjoyed their meal. The hash browns were nicely cooked but could have used a little bit more seasoning. My father ordered the Heuvos and Rellenos and he enjoyed them. He did say it was a lot of food. My biscuit sandwich without bacon sun with avocado was tasty. The biscuit was large and fluffy. We also ordered a side of salsa. It was chunky and yummy.
