We had oysters on the half shell and the turkey club sandwich with curly fries so tasty

We are from out of town and we came to visit Grand Junction, Colorado. We decided to go have dinner at Blue Moon Bar and Grille. We got there around dinner time they were able to accommodate the 11th of us. We got said pretty quick and the service was amazing. Our meals were delicious. We definitely go back again when in Grand Junction.

First of all I'd like to say that Brad is one heck of a guy. He is the owner of Blue Moon and he's just the nicest, most welcoming man I've ever met! When you first walk in there's a bar that stretches almost the whole length of the restaurant and that is great for anyone who wants to come in for libations. Lots of room for everyone to sit and watch the game. The bar staff is all so friendly and knowledgeable! As for the food, for being such a small kitchen the quality and speed the food comes out is amazing. Kitchen staff and servers are so friendly and seem like they all get along well and have fun together. I look forward to coming in again!

    Nasty food 1/10

This place is nasty, I ordered an appetizer that sounded pretty good it was cheese a meat and crackers. I don't remember the exact name but it was gross, greasy little hot dogs ritz crackers and some low quality cheese. I shook that off and ordered a hot ham and cheese sandwich.... I took 2 bites asked for my check. The bread was soaked in grease and smelled like grease making the meat taste awful , I actually gagged, there was a little bit of fries and they were way under cooked. I could tell the waiters knew the food sucked, kinda like it wasn't the first time they have seen this. The rest of the plate was garnish trying to cover up for the small portions of food. The water was quite good thought. It was also pretty dead inside.

Everytime I eat here I am never disappointed. Best Cobb salad, clam chowder, oysters on the half shell.

We stopped at Blue Moon on a drive through Grand Junction. I was searching for places that had a patio we could bring our dog to and am so happy we found this place! It was a perfect night to sit outside and we were greeted quickly by our server. The drinks came out quick and were perfect after a long day of driving. We ordered the Greek salad with lamb on top and it was DELICIOUS. Everything was fresh and yummy. Highly recommend. We also ordered a plain grilled chicken breast for our dog with they happily prepared for us and Finn scarfed that right down. Our server was just the best. She was so friendly and happy to help. Highly highly recommend!!

My husand and I went here last night for dinner and it was delicious! That flaming Greek cheese appetizer is phenomenal. I had the breaded pork cutlet sandwich and my husband had the Black and Blue Burger and we both really enjoyed our meals. The buns they use aren't the regular store bought cheap buns you get at chains, they we fuffly and fresh. The staff was very kind and very on top of providing good service. I would definitely love to go back. Oh and the Palisade Peach Vodka Mule is also very tasty.

The workers are very friendly and work to make your experience the best. The establishment itself is fairly small and can feel a bit crowed but they do what they can with the space that they have. The Elk Tartare was a new dish for me and I don't have any complaints about it, very well made. But the Cured Duck Breast is what I came for, and it did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly and complimented well with the green pico. If you have a chance to try Bin 707, I recommend you do it! Very well worth.

We both enjoyed a bottle of wine from a local Colorado outfit, a nice Pinot noir, and my wife had a burger, which is what the place is known for. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and friendly. The burger was pretty good as expected. I'm a big fan of duck so that's what I went with and going down it tasted pretty good but later than night it was clear I developed food poisoning and was up most of the night regretting my decisions. My wife and I shared the same meals and drinks throughout the day with the exception of dinner so it was evident the duck was the culprit. Unfortunate, but I'd recommend sticking with the burgers if you go.

We were a little taken aback simply because we dressed as 'business casual' and the waitstaff were dressed to the 9's. But we noticed that almost everyone else there was dressed casually, so we relaxed (i.e. they seem to have a relaxed dress code). Our waiter was prompt taking our drink order (and the water was filled immediately). He explained the special (some sort of fish which both my wife and I thought sounded wonderful) and then let us take our time looking over the menu. When he came back, I asked him about the sautéed mushroom appetizer. He described it and we immediately ordered it. It came out piping hot, and I must say - my wife and I both were 'fighting' for each bite - it was AMAZING. The sourdough bread is fantastic (and was great to use to mop up the rest of the melted butter from the sauteed mushrooms). I ordered the bacon wrapped, blue cheese encrusted filet with the house mashed potatoes and my wife ordered the ribeye steak with the potatoes au gratin. Mine selection was pretty awesome. The kitchen burned the bacon, but the steak was done perfectly and with the blue cheese encrustment and the sauce that came with it, I just pushed the bacon to the side (note - if I had pointed this out, I have no doubt that the staff would have refired the entire plate - so that's on me). However, my wife's selection blew mine completely away. Her steak was done perfectly (medium-rare) and the au gratin potatoes were absolutely to die for (I may have stolen quite a bit from her plate). We have our favorite place in Loveland, Co (4th street chop house) and Colorado Springs, Co (Peppertree restaurant), and we've now added the Winery to that short list. Sadly, it's a little further than the other two, but when we come back to Grand Junction/Palisade, this is one place that won't be skipped! We definitely recommend this place.

We knew there were plenty of wineries, but since my wife like trying new things and I didn't know where she had gone in the past, I had her pick the place to go when we got in and she 'randomly' selected this one. We couldn't have been happier. They have plenty of places to sit outside, but we went to the upstairs patio that overlooks the vineyard. It was a great choice. It's very pleasant, the view is beautiful, it's covered (so you're not baking in the sun), and when the breeze rolls through, it's perfect. We were a little taken aback that we had to go "all the way" downstairs when we wanted more wine, but then realized that it's the 'winery atmosphere' (remember - first day in to Palisade). We absolutely loved sitting on the patio and having a couple glasses of wine. We spent the next day visiting a few other wineries, but after two others, we decided to go back to Carboy. Sat on the upstairs patio again and listened to the live music (with a couple glasses of wine). It was amazing. Carboy has an assorted selection of food that can be ordered. We didn't order any, but it looked amazing and the people around us that did order things seemed happy with it. The only thing that we commented on was that when there's live music, we would have loved to have had the option of a food truck. If that had been the case, we both agreed that we probably would have stayed and had dinner there (as it was, we decided to leave and get dinner from a restaurant). If you're in Palisade (and are visiting wineries), I highly recommend Carboy. Personally, I'd skip the tasting 'flight' and go straight for a glass of wine, but that's mostly because the tasting varies from white to red (and I'm not a big fan of whites).

Beautiful patio and great drinks!! Service is top tear. Id recommend this place to anyone.read more

I started with the Italian Wedge salad, which was excellent. I'm not a ranch fan, so I had them swap it out for Italian dressing, and it paired perfectly. I always love starting a meal with a good wedge, and this one did not disappoint. For the main course, I ordered the Pasta with Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce. I'm a big fan of spicy Italian flavors -- it's a different kind of heat -- and this dish delivered. The Calabrian peppers (one of my favorite peppers) were perfectly incorporated, giving it great depth and flavor. The spice level was just right: bold and flavorful without being overwhelming. If I had one critique of the meal, it would be the pasta itself -- the noodles were fine, but nothing particularly special. That said, the sauce and overall flavor more than made up for it. I skipped dessert only because the portion size of the main dish was so generous there was no room left. If I had ordered one, it absolutely would've been the tiramisu. Honestly, slightly smaller portions on the entrée wouldn't hurt, but that's not a bad problem to have. Also, the aesthetics of the dining area need some work, feels kind of outdated and old, the tables near the kitchen entrance doors tacky and the tables felt crammed in there, minimal space between tables. It could really use some updates of the interior to bring the dining room up to the experience you'd expect for a $55.00 meal before tax for 1 person. Overall, a very enjoyable meal, and I would go back.

After 1 other spot we swung by Hermosa Vineyards. It was a humbler operation than some we noted, as we pulled in. I sorta like that over a grandiose entrance. The tasting room was even more humble in size and layout. As we walked in a larger group was just leaving and bought a few wines, so I figured it must be pretty good. It was good overall. As my expectation for this small but reputable winery grew as the day of the trip was near, today, I have the pleasure of writing this 5-star review to add to others' raves after I had a wonderful time spending 30 minutes at this one of a kind winery a few days ago. Kenneth was the most experienced/knowledgeable wine makers out of all 11 places I got to visit in Palisade mid this week. He certainly knows what wine making is all about and I could taste the precision he puts into each varietal. No wonder his place is ranked one of the top Colorado wineries. Hermosa is small and quaint but big doesn't always describe the success of a/any business. I certainly see that his pride as a wine maker is reflected in the kind of winery he runs: no extravagance, no big/expensive sign. Some great business is not always on the main/busy street; hence the expression, "hidden gem". Ken's winery is a hidden gem of Colorado's wine country is an understatement. His wines are not cheap like other wineries' wines so expect pay $5 to $10 more. But once you have tasted the qualities of his wines after a flight, you WILL be convinced to buy a bottle or two.

We decided to drop in without a reservation. The host was honestly pretty weird about it. He told us he had to go ask his waiters if they would even agree to take us. Truth be told, that is a bizarre way to welcome paying guests. They ultimately found a spot for us. Then they abandoned us for a solid fifteen minutes before anyone even approached the table. We finally ordered our drinks and watched another twenty minutes tick away. I went with the CMU Centennial Manhattan. It is built with a Colorado bourbon, sweet vermouth, local hot honey, bitters, and a bordeaux cherry. A proper Manhattan needs a careful balance between the whiskey and the sweet vermouth to round out the bite. Honestly, they were just way too heavy-handed with that hot honey. It was so aggressively spicy that it just wasn't enjoyable. My wife ordered the Lavender Lemon Drop. Hers was actually perfectly balanced with a really nice citrus kick. We put in an order for the Deviled Kitchen Eggs. Another twenty minutes passed before they hit the table. They make them with a tempura fried egg white and an herb yolk. I appreciate the attempt at a crispy texture. They were decent but ultimately nothing special. My wife ordered the Bison Tip Pappardelle. I decided on the Roasted Dirty Hippie Half Chicken. They use a local Palisade beer marinade for the chicken. I ordered it with duck fat potato dippers and truffle yucca on the side. Another thirty minutes crawled by before the main courses arrived. Both dishes were just huge letdowns. The pappardelle noodles were completely stuck together in a starchy clump. The wild mushroom cream sauce was overly sweet and cloying instead of savory. The bison meat was tough and tasted exactly like plain boiled beef. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about that pasta dish. My chicken wasn't any better. It had a terribly rubbery texture. It felt like it was roasted three days ago and lazily reheated. The skin was soggy and gross instead of crisp and properly rendered. The duck fat dippers were completely missing that deep, savory richness you expect when cooking with animal fats. The truffle yucca was actually pretty tasty. A good side dish just can't make up for a terrible main course, though. We didn't bother asking for a second round of drinks. The food was so poor that we skipped dessert and just asked for the check. The panoramic view of the Colorado National Monument from the rooftop is fantastic. A beautiful sunset just isn't enough to excuse a bad dinner, though. We expected a much higher-end culinary experience. What we got felt like a bunch of college students running a very disorganized experiment. I would definitely skip this spot.
