After a few days on the road, we met up with friends and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Camille's. The apple old fashioned was perfectly fall -- the ideal start to a great meal. We began with a bread board, a king crab leg for each of us, and the pork belly with sweet potato curls - was pure savory bliss. We shared the tomahawk steak with hollandaise sauce, Parmesan fries, cauliflower, asparagus and Brussels sprouts rounding out the meal. A glass of Caymus paired beautifully. They are a Harvest Host and our parking spot for the night was level, and we even spotted a few deer before turning in -- the perfect ending to a perfect evening. read more

We were in town visiting family, looked up the best steakhouses in town and came across Camille's. Believe the hype - this place is the real deal. I've eaten at 5 star steakhouses all over the world and Camille's ranks right up there. What was considered? Our server told us about a very unique cut - the Barrel Cut Ribeye. During Covid the owner worked at a butcher shop and discovered this rare cut - it's a ribeye without the one or the fat - the taste was unlike anything I've expected. I like it pink but not raw and they nailed it. My wife who rarely has steak enjoyed it. The sweet red wine (something rare to find) recommended was also spot on. True Camille's isn't the cheapest but for steak lovers who want a unique experience this isn't a meal it's an experience. read more

Overall we were pleased with the experience, but there were a few odds and ends that didn't quite add up during our experience here. To begin with my wife ordered a cocktail and requested that it be made not too strong. It ended up being a little stronger than what she would've preferred. We probably could've spoken up about it but the staff was kind of busy and we didn't want to say too much. The Caesar salad was a little bizarre. It's brought out in too large stalks, and I suppose the expectation is that you'll prepare the finished salad yourself at the table? Things got back on track when the entrées came out. I enjoyed the seafood risotto very much excellent preparation with gigantic scallops and shrimp and a fantastic mushroom risotto. I would get this dish again if we were ever to come back. My wife went with a filet tortellini pasta dish, which looked interesting and she indicated was quite good. We split a crème brûlée for dessert, which was brought out flaming, an interesting touch. My husband took me took me here for Mother's Day. Let me start by saying the service was outstanding. We started with a cocktail and it was very good. Unfortunately that was it. We had the lobster cakes for an appetizer and they were burnt on the bottom side. My husband ordered the duck, skin was not crisp and he said it didn't have much flavor. It came with a type of rice which was undercooked and watery. I had the osso buco with mushroom risotto. It was tender, but bland. I did take the leftovers home and with some salt added it was better. This was our first time trying this restaurant and we won't go back. For how expensive they were I expected much more. read more

We were repeat customers. Only restaurant in the area at the time with a mid to fine dining type ambiance. We were looking for a restaurant to have dinner before a Saturday night concert in Mt. Pleasant. Most of the restaurants at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort were shutdown at the time which is where we were headed, so Camille's Prime was our go to choice for the evening. Delicious filet mignon entree. Pricing is definitely high end along with well known fine dining establishments. Recommend making a reservation and research updated menu with current pricing. A bunch of menu items on our first visit was not available including a catch of the day option and pricing had very much increased. Great restaurant! We had a fantastic meal here of steak, steak, steak and scallops. Everything was done perfectly. The wild mushrooms were delicious, the french fries were perfect, the risotto was awesome, and the steaks were cooked to our liking. I'm grateful that this restaurant exists in Mt Pleasant where high end dining 'was' lacking. And being connection to Mountain Town, the beer options are endless! read more

The first time I went to Camille's Prime back in 2017, I thought it was the best restaurant in town because everything was cooked to perfection. I had the Lobster Baked Avocado (they were very very generous with the lobster!) and the Asian Braised Short Rib (the spices and sauce were on point and the meat was cooked so perfectly that every bite felt like heaven. The dish also came with seared brussel sprouts and kimchi fried rice-which was yummy yummy in my tummy!) I returned back a couple more times in 2018 and it was either a hit or miss, but mostly a miss.... I ordered the exact same dishes as that first time, but there was significantly less lobster, the short rib was overcooked, and they used a different recipe for making the kimchi fried rice (it just ended up tasting like rice with soy sauce)! :( read more

We just visited Camille's the day they started serving lunch. I loved the atmosphere to start with--it's elegant but cozy. We had a lovely table right by the fireplace (great if you're always cold like me, but it does get a bit warm). Our server was really nice and gave good recommendations on the new lunch menu. I settled on the chicken pot pie. It was awesome. Flaky pastry all around with a wonderful filling and frisée salad on the side. Best pot pie I've ever had. My husband chose the spicy Italian beef sandwich, which he really enjoyed. This restaurant is the best I've been to in Mt Pleasant. Can't wait to come back to try dinner. Arrived for our 6pm dinner reservation, which turned out to be entirely unnecessary as there were only 3 tables with patrons at that time. (Things had filled up quite a bit by the time we finished). Nice ambiance near the fireplace, and our server was efficient. We all had the filet for dinner with sides of mushroom Risotto, smashed Yukon potatoes, and French fries. Everything was spot on. Highly recommended the fries, which were wonderfully hot and crispy, and came with a delicious garlic aioloi. For dessert, we got the Tiramisu, which was disappointing. The description said ladyfingers soaked with coffee and rum. I love a good boozy Tiramisu, so my hopes were up. Wah wah. The ladyfingers were practically dry and flavorless. Could taste neither coffee nor rum. The low point of the evening and the real dealbreaker here was the music. They had on some horrible Sirius channel or Playlist of this God awful techno, synth-rave nightclub music. Totally not suitable for what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. We asked if a different channel could be played, and apparently the answer is NO, because "the owner likes this station". Oh, and no table bread. All good steakhouses give you a bread (Morton's, Hyde Park Prime, Flemimgs, etc.). Food was good but we wouldn't come again. read more

Hmmm Really great service.... I sat by the bar. The food is fantastic, I had the Mai Mai in a curry sauce with veggies and the avocado/lobster appetizer. They bring out a whole avocado diced up and in the skin then heated up where it releases some of its oils giving it a delicious flavor. we enjoyed a celebration dinner here, party of 7 and got a large round table in the back corner! We ordered 6 steaks - 2 18 oz Kansas City Strips, 1 24 oz Porterhouse, 2 6 oz Filet Mingons and 1 12 oz fillet. Most of the steaks came with a bone in and one of the Kansas City strips had a MASSIVE ligament in it and the cut had a large amount of gristle. They also all had a "charr grilled" crust. Unfortunately this was not mentioned in the menu or by our server, and in the dim lighting they appeared severely overdone when brought out. Only then did our server tell us about the charr crust, which actually ended up being delicious but should have been mentioned prior to ordering. 3 of the steaks were sent back due to being overcooked. The sides that we ordered were truffle fries (enjoyed by all!) brussel sprouts (nice and crispy, loved them) Mac and cheese (bland and could have been a lot cheesier) and mushroom risotto (no complaints) Service was good, he was a little rushed but it was a Saturday night. Rib Eye Steak melts like butter when you cut it. It's the best steak i have ever had. When I come to Mt Pleasant for a concert I don't eat at Soaring Eagle's steak house we come here. There was so much hype leading up to the opening of this restaurant ... and it was for good reason. The food and the cocktails are FANTASTIC. If I lived in Mount Pleasant, I'd be wanting to eat here again and again, especially since the menu will be rotating seasonally. Among the things I enjoyed on my first visit: the Death By Chocolate Martini and the Caramel Apple Martini; romaine and bibb salad with charred onions and bacon vinaigrette (it also comes with a poached egg, which I omitted because I don't do poached eggs); Asian short ribs with kimchi fried rice; truffle frites with jalapeno ketchup and garlic aioli; mushroom risotto; and brussels sprouts with bacon vinaigrette. The last 3 items were sides, which were served family-style for our table to share. I believe there is a bit of a price break for ordering 3 sides. The blessing bread, a soft bread topped with herbs, also is delicious; don't skip it -- or the herbed butter that comes with it -- when it is delivered to your table. We didn't even think about dessert -- too full! Maybe next time. The only reason this is a four-star review rather than a five-star review is that I had extremely high expectations for the ambience and service based on what I'd read in advance of the restaurant's opening. Unfortunately, it was fairly loud -- which is probably at least partly due to the crowd from CMU and Mount Pleasant Homecoming activities. The service was good -- both in the bar and in the dining room -- but no different than what you'd find at many other restaurants. I also had to ding the rating a bit due to the fact that the restaurant was completely out of the bacon-infused vodka (infused in-house, the bartender said) that is used in both the house Bloody Mary and a Bloody Mary-style martini. The place had only been open a week and a half, so it seemed odd to me that anything would already be out of stock. I was really disappointed. Also, I should note that I have never been to a restaurant so soon after it opened and had such a good experience. Sometimes it takes weeks or months for a restaurant to get it together, but that wasn't the case here. read more

This was the second time I have been to this restaurant and the second time I have had an excellent dining experience. Service was very prompt and the food is absolutely delicious. I got the pork tenderloin and my boyfriend the ribeye steak, both of which were fantastic. This is fine dining and the prices and food reflect that. It's not a family restaurant by any means. The setting is spectacular-- romantic and full of character. We would go back again in a minute and it's the reason we return to Mount Pleasant. So, judging by the menu, I'd say the food is probably pretty good. I wouldn't know though because my girlfriend and I were never seated. There was nothing but tumbleweeds and lost hopes fluttering through the entrance and the giant L shaped hallway that led to what I assume was the main dining area. I went down said hallway to make my presence known and even let out an audible "hello?" But again, no response. I get it, sometimes people get busy and things get overlooked, but at an establishment that offers 60.00 steaks and such, call me old fashioned, I expect to be seated in a timely fashion. So take the 1 star with a grain of salt. This is based on the service alone or complete lack thereof. A suggestion to Camille: place a host or hostess on the river as well. read more

Absolutely love Camille's Steak and Seafood. Probably the best meal I've had in years. We had a large party and our servers were attentive and prompt. The food was delicious and I never heard one complaint from our group. Everyone was impressed. Not only was the food and service great but the atmosphere is wonderful and the place is breathtaking.
