I used to come here when it was something like $3/item no matter what but I understand with covid times comes covid prices. There are signs everywhere saying $4.95/item but of course when I brought in my sweaters and work pants all of a sudden those aren't included cuz of this and that and it ended up being $17 to dry clean a pair of pants!! The lady that works there does not wear a mask until someone else is there so stand back!! She slowly puts it on and even then doesn't fully enclose her nose. She makes YOU tell her what items you have as she slowly writes (you're already not wearing your mask properly and now you can't touch my clothes when you'll have to when I leave?!). Then she pulls the classic, you gave me this amount of money when I actually gave her more! She pulls the cash back out and was like, oh, yeah you did. Sorry, I'm bad at math. Mind.blown. Seriously?! AND she'll charge you extra 50 cents for credit cards no matter how much your bill is! When I came back to pick up my items of course she couldn't find it either. Took her a good while before locating it (all signs says 3 day turnaround but she told me at least "4 days to be safe"). Not what it used to be and DEFINITELY will not be back. read more

This place doesn't even deserve a 1-star review. Very bad management. I dropped off my new Hugo Boss dress shirt for dry cleaning + hand press and paid for it accordingly. But I was extremely disappointed to find out it was machine washed instead, it was not dry cleaned and was not hand pressed. They broke 4 buttons and has wrinkles on shirt. Mine was a $120 dress shirt, brand new. There is a reason why I paid for dry cleaning, and not for machine wash. But they did machine wash/press and it just ruined my dress shirt. This is probably the worst dry cleaners I've ever been to. Such a waste of money. Stay away. The photo is of a freshly dry cleaned coat which costs $7 for hem to 'dry clean'. I could have done a better job cleaning it with a toothbrush at home. In the past I've had clothes come back in horrible condition because I know they are washing them. Don't waste your money here. Love this place! I drop off a butt-load of dry cleaning and write them a check. Pick up freshly cleaned clothes in less than a week and all is good with the world. No hassles - ever. The guy that always takes our clothes is always really friendly and makes things simple. I used to call it Cry Cleaning because the bills were so expensive we would feel like crying... This place charges $1.60 each for laundering men's shirts and $2.75 for each piece to dry clean. I very easily would spend $125 a pop at our other dry cleaning places but that same load would be half here. I'm a huge fan and the fact that they don't take credit or debit cards doesn't bother me - I just write them a check. Frankly paying up front doesn't bother me either. UPDATE: left my name on Saturday regarding the incident and was told someone would give me a call on Monday. It's now Tuesday night and no call so far. --- I am quite livid at the moment. Dropped off a bunch of dry cleaning, including 4 merino wool sweaters. Was quite happy about the price - $3 an article is a steal. But should have known better why the price is so cheap. 2 out of 4 sweaters came back with holes, multiples and quite visible due to the location and size. (Picture included) Called the store about it and all I'm told is the person who can do something about it isn't in so I would have to call back. On top of that, I asked what the damage policy is and it doesn't sound like they have one. I went here last week because of Cathy's review below. The place charges $2.50 for dry cleaning on any item. Big jacket? $2.50. Suit jacket? $2.50. Pants? $2.50. I think laundered dress shirts are cheaper at $1.75 or so. They do send off the clothes to be dry cleaned elsewhere, so you will have to wait until the 3rd day after 3pm to pick it up. I didn't ask about any "rush" dry cleaning. As for the quality of the dry cleaning, I mean, let's face it, if the stains and the smells come out, then I'm happy. My 2 jackets both came back clean and fresh. Why pay more at another cleaner? The owner works there almost every day. Very very nice guy. I'll definitely be coming back! Unfortunately, I have to agree with Meagan and Timothy here. Yes, they offer a good deal with $2.95 per dry clean item. But, it is the fact that "the clothes wasn't dirty, but you can find pieces of hair on each of them and a very wierd smell as well." I even got three damaged buttons and one scratched line back. I did not have the greatest experience with this drycleaner. I went twice to drop off or pick up dry-cleaning ten or fifteen minutes before closing and they had closed early both times. The prices are dirt cheap but my clothes weren't actually clean. My blouses were all still wrinkled and I am almost positive a couple items weren't cleaned at all. My Sad Story begins with dropping off my Wedding Dress ($1,000 worth) at the NorthStar Dry Cleaners and after 1 month never got it back. Isn't this ridicolous ? Luckly this Dry cleaning i requested after my Wedding and not before, however i've had an Wedding Photo Session scheduled and paid in advance. And it's gone. I just missed it because of the weather, Fall is taking place already and we do have rain every day. I was trying to call the owner of the company 'Shalina', and all she's telling to me is 'They are still searching for my Wedding dress after 1 month since i left the item. But ussualy she doesn't pick up the phone calls when she knows that you are about to complain and demand something from her. I was shocked when even her employees like "Lana" are confirming that this company is always loosing customers items. Now i'm at the point to give her 1 more chance in order to reimburse my loss or i see her in the Court. I would come back with updates how this nightmare ended up but i would definetely suggest and recommend to AVOID THIS PLACE. This cheap service in amount of $3/per item or $10 per dress is really tempting but it doesn't worth it at all. I was excited to find a reasonably priced dry cleaner on my way home, and the owner was so nice. However I got my clothes home and they smelled of mildew. I assumed a mistake had been made and brought them back to be cleaned again. They were returned with the same smell. I let the try a third time. Sad to say that my last pickup from Camms/Northstar Dry Cleaners was disappointing. I brought in a chiffon dress that I'd had cleaned here before. The first time, I actually wrote my 5-star review on the service on this particular dress. This time, when I picked up my dress, there were still food and grease stains left on the dress. I don't think that I'll be returning. There was someone new collecting the drop-offs when I went in, so I don't know if this place has changed owners, but the dry cleaning seems to have gone down hill. I've lived in Seattle for 2 years and have been searching for a reasonable dry cleaners for 1 year and 51 weeks. Living Westside and working Eastside means I've got a pretty broad geographic range to pick from. Still - NO ONE would do dry clean items for under $5 per. Camm's is different. They're a one price dry cleaners. Real-honest-to-goodness-dry-cleaning is $2.50 per item. Laundered shirts are $1.70. I can't begin to tell you how exciting this is. I picked up a huge order yesterday, and so far so good. No (new) broken buttons or burned fabrics. UPDATE (09/04/12) The owner texted me last saturday to pick up the comforter today at 3:30 pm, when I came in the comforter is still not there for the 4th time. The same attitude goes on saying he doesn't know when it will come in, etc. No notification or even any sign my comforter is anywhere. STAY AWAY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. --------------------------------------------------------- We read the reviews about the cheap price about this place, so we figured to try it out. If you don't want to read our review, just know that please avoid this place as much as possible. We dropped off couple clothes and our comforter. The sign says clothes takes 3 days and the comforter will take a week to finish. After a week, we got our clothes back but our comforter is still missing. The owner claims that the comforter will need another day, so we took our clothes back. The clothes wasn't dirty, but you can find pieces of hair on each of them and a very wierd smell as well. We came back another day for our comforter, and the owner again wants us to come back in 2 days. Today after visiting the dry cleaning place again, the comforter is still not yet done and he has no clue when it can be done since all clothes are cleaned offsite. It's very frustrating because 1) They do not guarantee when they can finish your items so it might take weeks. 2) The owner doesn't seem to care that it took more than a week, won't notify you and just very casually tell you it will be done "someday". I chose this place based on the wonderful reviews from everyone who visited Camms prior to me. Though their prices have gone up (it's $2.75 for clothing items now) I am not complaining! Location-wise - this place is very easy to find - located across the street from Fred Meyer, in the same parking lot as Goodwill. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and courteous and charged me $6 to dry clean my husband's suit - not bad at all! The suit was ready for pick-up on Wednesday and looked great! The people who run the front counter are perfectly nice, and I've had a few instances of clothes coming back with brown smudges or smelling funny, but they usually 'made it right' by recleaning the garment in question. However in the past six months this place has destroyed four of my dress shirts. One was burned during ironing and melted. And just this week three (in one run!) had their collars destroyed (it looks as if a dog chewed on them). These were bespoke Brooks Brothers shirts, not cheap clothes. Foolishly thinking they cared about their reputation or had any amount of professionalism, I took the last three shirts they ruined back to the store. The clerk was, as always, very nice and said she would show them to the owner and he would 'take care of it'. Three days later I received a call from the owner. He called me from the shop to mask his caller ID, and refused to say his name - just that he was 'the dry cleaner'. His first statement wasn't to apologize, it was to ask me if the shirts were new. I said they were about six months old. He then told me that the tears across the collar are 'normal wear and tear' caused by me, that there's no possible way the shirts could have been torn by anyone under his employ, etc, etc. He completely refused to take any responsibility for the damage much less compensate me for destroying my clothing. I have been using this dry cleaner for over three years. This is how they treat their regular customers. You get what you pay for. Do not give Camms Dry Cleaning your business. Saving a few bucks isn't worth having your clothing destroyed by a business owner who clearly does not care about professionalism or reputation. read more

We've used Northstar for years and have NEVER had any issues with either of the Northstar cleaners. Always clean, on time and inexpensive.
