Call first and schedule an appointment, she's very busy and hardworking. The business is located inside a larger building. Enter through main doors and at the fork turn right and keep going until you see the sign for her business on the wall. The door is going to be on the right side of the hall. She's very nice and helpful, I don't know why other reviewers were complaining. I was a little scared based on some of those reviews but once I met her or even called on the phone she was friendly. I got a pair of pants hemmed for $15 which is the best price I could find. I'm currently getting a skirt waist taken in for $25. I'm really pleased with her work and will continue to come as long as I'm here in Bellevue. read more

Needed to get some pants and a simple dress altered and Joanna did the job perfectly. I was a little hesitant at first because the shop itself is in the middle of a frankly confusing office building, and when she measured me it took under 5 minutes, but the quality and the price can't be beat! I regret giving a bad review but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for important alterations. I dropped off a bridesmaid dress on 4/23 for a simple hem and was told to come back 2 weeks later to pick up. When I went to pick it up, the dress hadn't moved since my first appointment and was completely forgotten. Luckily I had brought in my dress well in advance - Ms. Lee told me to give her another week to finish it. So 3 weeks total for a hem. Even though I was fitted while wearing my heels, the dress came out about an inch and a half too short. Looks completely awkward and there's no fabric left to correct it. Ms. Lee is a sweet lady but clearly overwhelmed. Price for the hem came out to $94. Pretty expensive IMO and now I'm forced to buy new shoes that are shorter read more

I always go with her suggestions about the best way to work with the clothing and everything's perfect when I get home and try it on. I was shocked at how affordable it was the last time I picked up my stuff. This place is a little hard to find. (Remember to turn right when entering the building. ) but once you find it, it's worth it. I took a dress for length modifying and it was a rush right before the thanksgiving holiday. Joan did the measurement and told us she will make it happen before the thanksgiving. And she did ! I rarely get anything altered, but I had a blazer and pants I've owned for over 20 years. I needed them altered for my nephew's wedding which would be taking place in about a week. She informed me that she had a lot of weddings this week and couldn't guarantee my alterations would be ready in time for my nephew's wedding. I found myself an awesome tailor! I usually never say this up front, but seriously, I would recommend Lee's to anyone looking for a reliable and reasonably priced tailor! I brought in a really complicated to alter bridesmaid dress and on top of that, since I was 6 months pregnant, my body was changing every week. With these 2 combo issues. Joanne was able to make great recommendations took in and took out some of my dress to make it all work in 3 fittings! Unlike other tailors I have been to, Joanne was able to work with my schedule and was very accommodating. Though located inside a business plaza, it wasn't too hard to find and there is plenty of parking! I've gone to Lee's Tailer & Alternations to shorten several pairs of jeans and slacks. These items always turn out great. I did bring in a dress once to fix which didn't turn out quite perfectly but was acceptable. All in all, Joanne the owner does decent work for a reasonable price. She's upfront when she can get the work done and if you need the item earlier she'll try to fit it in her schedule. I called ahead to make an appointment, however, when I got there she refused to do the hemming I needed on my pants. She said that there were too many pants. Not sure what business she is in but isn't alterations the point of her business? Also, she has very poor signage. It was very hard to find her. The office was tiny with clothing taking up every square inch of her place. I would not recommend. read more

1. Lady was super rude from the time I said Hello! I wanted to walk away but didn't do it because I thought it might be rude on my part. So I let her behave the way she did. 2. The time she gave me to pick up my alteration she was closed. 3. I went there 4 times looking at the opening time on Google, it was always closed. 4. Did a very shady job. I told her it's still the same and she was not ready to agree or see how uncomfortable I was. Finally she decided to fix and it took her around 15 mins to do everything and she made me wait for weeks. It still was not as per my liking but I didn't want to spend anymore time there so I just left. 5. Over priced!! I think it depends on her mood not on the job. read more

I called Lee's Alteration and gave her exact description of a simple dress needed to hem. Owner gave the price on the phone but when I got to her place, she raised it because maybe I was as driving a nice car (don't know)?? (She came out to the parking lot ) She was extremely unfriendly to start with and a grouchy demeanor because I called for directions, her place is not exactly easy to locate. When I ask her why she was charging so high since it's easy hemming her reply was "if it's easy then why don't you do it yourself". Well because most people take there clothes to alteration places BECAUSE they don't have a sewing machine or know how to sew..... I left the place because of her lack of customer service. If she was friendly I would have just given her the business regardless of the price increase. I would give a zero star if I could here. read more

Chose this place based off of other reviews and how close it was to my work. I'm glad I did! She was really sweet and had my dress ready in about a week and a half. She hemmed it and took some extra fabric off the shoulders. She also fixed the front part (the bust?) because it was way too big and digging into my skin. It cost $66, I'm not sure if that's high or low but it seemed like a good price to me for the quickness and quality. Tips: She only accepts cash or check. This is located in an office building. When you enter the building, go down the hallway to the right and just keep walking until you eventually see a sign that will direct you to the place and she has a sign on the door letting you know you're in the right place :) read more

I got my bridesmaid dress which was too small - wouldn't zip at all! I took it to alteration place and the lady hesitantly said they mayyy be able to extend it a bit, but to come back later. I had no time to waste. I searched for another place. After reading the reviews for Lee's Tailor, I decided to go and give it a shot. She told me, matter of factly, that she will take it out an inch and half (which I couldn't even feel that much extra fabric!). Lo and behold, I come back less than a week later and it fits PERFECTLY! The dress looks flawless and it was super reasonably priced! Absolutely amazing. I came to Joanna, based off of glowing yelp reviews, with an emergency situation - my white bridal shower dress I had purchased had arrived 48 hours prior, way later than planned with no backup option, and it was two sizes too big. I asked Joanna if there was ANY way possible that she could alter the fit within 24 hours, fully expecting to pay 200+ for overnight service and such a big project.. She took one look at me in my dress, quoted me at $35 for overnight alterations and said she could absolutely do it. Just picked up my dress and it is more than perfect than I could ever have imagined, she was finished earlier than planned, and I paid $38.50 with tax. Ms. Lee has done two alterations for me: 1) a set of curtains and 2) a dress. She did exactly as I asked in terms of alterations, she was quite quick, and relatively inexpensive. I am so glad I found Lee's Tailor & Alteration, thanks to Yelp! Going here saved me over $100. I had a chiffon bridesmaid dress that I needed shortened. After first going to a different tailor in Redmond who quoted me $145-$175, I was worried it would cost me a fortune to get it hemmed. I decided to shop around and that's when I found Lee's shop. Joanna quoted me $40 plus tax to hem my dress, which contained multiple layers. What a deal! She was very kind and helped me get in out of my dress, which I couldn't seem to do on my own thanks to the corset back. When I picked up my dress one week later, I was happy to see that the quality of the work was excellent. I can't wait to wear my dress this week for the wedding! Important note: The picture on yelp that shows her suite as 133 is out of date! She is now in a different suite, 170 I think it was. You can still ask the front desk person in suite 100 to direct you to her if you want. It's better though just to go down the hallway on the right when you enter the building (yes, this is the opposite direction of suite 100). Eventually, you will see signs for Lee's, pointing you to go farther down the hall. Her shop may not look as fancy or upscale as other alteration stores, but the low price, friendly service, and great quality make her the best choice in my opinion. read more

Joanna was fantastic and so easy to work with. I brought in a bridesmaid dress that had chiffon layers, which I knew would be tricky to work with. She is currently in a smaller office because there was water damage to her original space on a higher floor. She was kind and really took the time to make sure that it was done correctly. Price wise, I feel like it was fair compared to what my friends have said about other tailors/alteration places for bridesmaid dresses, especially because she had to hem a few layers, and also adjust the strap and bring the bodice in. It came out to be $90 total and it was ready in about a week and a half. She is such a sweet lady, and it was such a pleasant experience that I would gladly drive the 25-30 minutes to Bellevue from West Seattle to get stuff done by her again. read more

Her shop is a little difficult to find for a new customer but the other tenants in the building knew who she was and happily walked me over to her side. Her unit # location isn't clear and isn't listed on the building directory. She told me she used to be located in the current Porsche dealership location but of course was relocated when they took over. I've gotten pants and jackets altered so far have been OK with the quality, turn around time, and price. Coming from California, I was used to better quality, faster times, and cheaper prices but its Bellevue we are talking about so I'll keep that in mind. Its a small place, maybe 15 x 10 room. Just enough space to store other people's clothes, a sweing machine, and small changing room. Cash only so don't forget the moolah. For some reference, shortening a jacket with a liner cost around $16.50. To shorten the sleeves on a winter peacoat was $28, and to hem pants was $12. Turn around time was met on the smaller jacket and pants but on a separate occasion, I came back on the day she told me to come and the jacket sleeve was halfway done. She said it would be done the next day. Despite taking down your phone number on the receipt, she never contacted me about the delay. Also, one sleeve was ever so slightly longer than the other sleeve, which I felt should be even given that I am paying for her professional skills to get them tailored. With that said, the quality of the work received was acceptable and I would still have her tailor my clothes because of prices and proximity to me. Unless something better comes along, she will continue to get my business! read more

Having Lee's in my life gives me the option of buying better-quality garments with pricier labels and better fabrics, instead of buying new clothes. Lee's Tailor makes alterations so that they fit me so that I get to look like a billionaire, and the environment gets to enjoy less garment waste. You have to pay out of the nose these days for clothes that are free of synthetic textiles (like polyester) that don't last past a few washes. Suit-separates with fitting from a department store will cost at least $300. A suit from Goodwill will cost less than $20, fitting at Lee's between $20-$50, and dry cleaning $10. That's 1/6th or the price and for men's wear, and - trust me - no one can tell the difference. All it takes is a little YouTube education on how clothes should fit, understanding the basics of your color wheel, learning how to build a clothing capsule, and you'll know what to look for at the thrift store. A nice story: They worked an incredible last-minute overnight turnaround of a new black suit I had to wear to a wedding on a Saturday. (I called them immediately when I found out to give them a heads up before I went to JCPenny). Pro-tip, give wedding party members more than a month head's up of costume requirements. Day-before is not acceptable. Black is not a standard suit color for a businessman to own. I believe I spent in total under a combined $300 for the suit separates at JCP and tailoring at Lee's, and had folks that had spent untold thousands of dollars high-label names at what are really discount suit stores (men's warehouse) (inaudible snickering as I write this that people go there) that were jealous of how good I looked. They liked the way I looked. Ms. Lee has some great service and dedication to the promises that she makes. I took two pairs of jeans to her for tapering. I could not make it before closing and she went out of her way to make sure that they were delivered to me on the day promised. Lee's Tailor made sure I got my jeans tapered correctly and went above and beyond what a normal tailor would do to fulfill her promises.
