One of my favorite stops in crested butte! It's funny that people think its slow as good espresso drinks are crafted and shouldn't be mass produced as the chains have done! This hole in the wall is so charming. I was in town and tried their spiced cider. So good! Above all the atmosphere of this place is great.

Worth a stop in - its literally a hole in a wall, but if the weather allows, hang out in the front yard for a bit and chat with the other patrons. The locals can be a bit of a drag ( complain a lot and could care less about using kid appropriate language - not sure what the deal is, I've visited here 5 times this year and the locals need a vacation) but I've met really interesting tourists each time I've sat outside and enjoyed my various drinks. Oh yeah, and the coffee is good too - its just nice to support a local business and not have to drink Starbucks. read more

This will be my first negative review, which is unfortunate but my experience with Camp4 Coffee today was unacceptable...I have been a regular customer since moving to CB over a year ago. I purchase at least one thing from them a day- they operate across from where I work and, until today, I loved the business. I try to refrain from going as much as I do, but I realistically end up spending $30-$40 per week. Even though the mountain Camp4 has gone downhill since last season and I regularly have to wait 15 minutes for an espresso drink with expired shots, I have never once complained and have always tipped the baristas more than I typically would to support my local business. Today they lost my respect and my business for good- and it was over a spoon. Not thinking it would be of any issue, and after buying a tea and an Americano this morning, I went back to grab a spoon for my yogurt (granted I didn't purchase the yogurt there). The owner, Al Smith, later had the audacity to come in to my place of employment with one of his baristas, in front of my co-workers, to tell me that I am creating a problem by taking things I didn't pay for. He went on to talk about things other people were taking as if to group me in with people that are stealing. When I told him I've never taken more than a spoon and that I buy something every day, he told me that was besides the point. He then told me that if it happened again, he would talk to my manager (as if a local coffee company's upset owner has any bearing on my job). I felt humiliated and disrespected and have never been treated so poorly by a business owner. He easily could have pulled me aside introduced himself, and asked me in a professional way, to not take a spoon unless I purchase a food item- I would have gladly obliged. I unfortunately will not be returning and I bring with me several of my co-workers and customers. I am a former barista and am pretty familiar with coffee; if you want great local coffee with excellent service I highly recommend First Ascent Coffee Roasters on first and Elk. Don't waste your time or your money on a business that clearly has no appreciation for their customers. read more

I love good coffee, I will go out of my way to find a local coffee shop and if they roast their own that is an added bonus. This meant as soon as I got to Crested Butte and found out there a was local roaster, I was going to stop by. I was not disappointed. I got an americano and a bag of coffee to go. They offered to grind it for me which was helpful since while there was a coffee maker at our place there was not a coffee grinder. The coffee was very good, I like darker roasts and it had that deep rich flavor I love. The service was fast and while I was there (being a tourist, getting additional coffee and mugs) a steady stream of people came through the door. If you are a self proclaimed coffee snob (as two other people in line mentioned) I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

What's the hype? Cute place but this morning my Americano literally tasted like water.

You absolutely cannot go wrong with Camp 4 Coffee. I recommend "SledgeHammer" but all beans are great. I shared a chocolate espresso milkshake which was hands down the best milkshake I have ever had the pleasure of consuming, a perfect end to a long day of riding. While the line is most often very long, the wait is always worth it and the costumer service is great. Go to Camp 4 and enjoy an incredible cup of coffee (or other!) on the attractive and clean patio. read more

This placce is highly rated on Trip Advisor AND they were open early this morning for my pre-hike breakfast burrito......yeah ! Coffee was great, and so was the burrito - costs were fair and there was a short line, but worth waiting for. Rest of CB was still asleep......and i got to be FIRST on the trail ! read more

I really loved this coffee shop. The coffee is roasted fresh so it's very smooth and aromatic! The atmosphere is relaxing with plenty of outdoor space. A sign says "best Colorado coffee" and I would agree. I wish we had this shop my town! We went two days in a row and the gal remembered what we were drinking . Awesome coffee!!! read more

Just returned from another 4th of July in CB. I've been visiting Camp 4 Coffee for years. I love the Americano and sausage biscuit for breakfast. My husband and daughter always get the Chai which is more flavorful than chai anywhere else. On a summer afternoon, you can't go wrong with a chocolate espresso milk shake. Barista Ali made them for us, and as always, the service was excellent! We purchased a couple of bags of beans to bring home as we always do. They are roasted by the owner in CB. I've also ordered online. Every year my coworkers look forward to the little bags at Christmas. Love Camp 4! read more

Great coffee and burritos, friendly and helpful service. Definitely the place for an early morning stop.

I am not a coffee expert by no means but I felt the coffee was average. We got a latte and a cafè au lait and the taste was good but nothing extraordinary. It may be the best coffee place in town as others have suggested but I would choose Starbucks over them if there was one. They didn't have a big selection of pastries and the ones we did get were average. We got an eclair and I thought it was a little too dry, and we were there around 8 am so don't think the pastries were sitting out that long. The croissants were great, big and fluffy. We also got a couple if breakfast items: burrito and a bacon, cheddar,egg bagel. Wife seemed to like the burrito and the bagel was pretty good, although I don't think they make their bagel. The only complaint i have with the bagel is that the bacon were chopped into tint little flakes and were over cooked. Iv would rather they just had whole bacon strips on the bagel. Loved the ambiance... you feel like your definitely in a coffee shop on a mountain. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in the US. Their espresso is on point and their cappuccino (served on the wet side) is great.

Chai is excellent. So is the coffee. Very hip. Breakfast tacos great for hiking trips.

Recently I went to Camp Four Coffee at the base of Crested Butte Ski Area to buy a chai tea latte. I was charged over $8 for one small tea. Thought that was steep but I let it go seeing as how this is a resort town. When I went to pick up my drink I was presented with two teas. They obviously made a mistake, which I can understand but not only didn't they offer me my money back or even try to right the situation, they decided to announce to the entire place that there was a free tea anyone could have that I paid for. Can't remember the last time I was humiliated like that. Way out of line. If that wasn't enough, I took one sip out of my cup and it was possibly the most disgusting item I've ever tasted. I spit out my first sip. Tried it twice more and spit out both immediately then threw out the remainder. By far the worst tea I've ever had. My experience with Camp Four Coffee is I was ripped off and humiliated. The staff is unprofessional. I will never buy from them again and will rail against it to anyone willing to listen. read more
