WE LOVE CAMP BOW WOW! Over the last few days, I have seen posts across several social media sites from Lisa about the "vicious dog attack" that allegedly occurred at Camp Bow Wow. However, I would just like to address some things I have noticed because I'm a stickler for the details, and I know a thing or two about dogs. She states it's a "confirmed dog attack." Who confirmed it? She states the facility reported no attack. Did the vet confirm an attack or a bite? I'm asking because Romeo is a Staffordshire Terrier. Apparently, Lisa did little research, training, or educating herself before purchasing this breed of dog. A simple search will tell you: "American Staffordshire Terriers, are known for their strength and tendency to play roughly, which can sometimes be mistaken for aggression. Their play style can involve a lot of physical activity and even some roughhousing..." These dogs play by biting each other's necks and "puppies" at 6 months can be 45 lbs. Maybe there is no incident report of a fight, because there was never a fight? This brings me to my second point. In her earlier posts she claims that she noticed "immediately" the wounds on his FACE when the dog was brought to her. Only all the pictures she posts are of under his neck? His face is beautiful. Perfect. Untouched. He is smiling, although she speaks as if he was mauled and disfigured. And the pictures she is posting of his wounds, according to her, are of AFTER a vet sedated and shaved off his fur. How would the facility see that? She never posts a pic of the fur BEFORE. Again and again she claims the dog was traumatized by the facility. But she threw Romeo in the back of her car, and left him in it, while she parked him outside the facility, so she could hold up a sign and protest? Why are you bringing your traumatized dog back to the place that traumatized it? It makes me think "your cause" is more important than the welfare of your actual dog. Furthermore, I wonder how much time passed between the information making it to the owner, and her incessant negative posting across multiple platforms? According to her own posts, she picked the dog up on Saturday. The negative posts began on that same Saturday. Did the owner even have time to investigate the incident before being barraged with negative comments? Did corporate or his lawyers advise him not to respond until he had the whole story? Oh, and I checked... guess how many one star reviews Lisa has given to multiple businesses. For example, on Yelp you won't be able to find any 5 star reviews from Lisa. Just three reviews and just one star for each of them. Are positive reviews not worth her time? She complained about the unethical waiver she was asked to sign. This waver is standard across the business. Here is a quote from the Dog Rock Resorts waiver: "Please keep in mind that the behavior of dogs is unpredictable and although our off-leash groups are always 100% supervised, injuries or illness is possible". She now claims the business is paying people to leave positive reviews? She, herself, coerced her daughter to write a one-star, one sentence review: "I'd leave zero stars if I could". What's the difference between her soliciting negative reviews from people and allegedly, the business doing the same thing for positive reviews? She is a hypocrite and she manipulates what people tell her to suit her purpose. For example, "Someone just told me their dog died there". No context? Just throws that out there into her dog abuse world and lets people make assumptions, because assumptions are more fun than facts. Was it a 15 year old dog ravaged with cancer or cushing's disease? No? Was the owner called to let them know their dog didn't look right and wasn't their self, unable to get there in time, or unable to find any other facility because no one wanted to risk that liability? There are so many cherry-picked details in her multiple stories I just couldn't be silent anymore. I'm just glad that Romeo looks happy and well, and I hope the owner and her family get education and training about the breed of dog they chose to own. I am just posting this here. What I love about this place is everything! Every person thus far has been so supportive and friendly, especially Josh who shares observations of Raven and her behavior that are spot on and that only I really knew before she was enrolled. This is important because it lets me know that she's not one more dog, just pushed into an environment of chaos all day, but a soul with a name, who is unique, and in a safe place where she can be herself, supervised by people who understand dog behavior and also appreciate her spirit. I love that Jemma knows every dog's name, and their family, and the experience for me, while loud and playful at camp, leaves me very zen when I leave. Raven comes home exhausted and happy which means everything to me. The webcams are extraordinary, because I'm a little obsessive about checking in, and now watching Raven enjoy her day is a community activity at my office! My dog really likes it here. It means a lot that the staff knows me and my dog by name even though we are not here more than once a month. Most importantly, they are honest about anything that happens while my dog is here. He's got a ton of energy and loves rough housing with the other dogs. There have been a couple of times where he has been cut from butting heads or a stray tooth. Each time, the staff fixed him up and gave me a full accounting of the incident. It's obvious they are genuinely concerned for the dogs in their care and treat them as they would their own. I also love being able to 'check in' on him via webcams - it helps reassure pet owners that their dogs are having a great time! read more

My dog Loki absolutely LOVES going to Camp Bow Wow in Nanuet. He gets treated like a little prince and gets lots of attention. He has been there for day care, boarding, as well as baths/grooming. We've had nothing but positive experiences. The owner is so kind and always helps us with tips on how to train/correct behaviors with our boy at home. The staff here are all so kind and compassionate, and you can tell they truly love all the animals that come in. I also love that we can watch our boy all day on the live feed cameras. My dog has become an all around more well-behaved and social dog since he started attending Camp Bow Wow. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Love love love love Camp Bow Wow, my dog, Hershey, has gone there for about a year now and the staff is like family to both of us! Hershey is both energetic and has some separation anxiety so it's nice to know he has a safe and friendly environment to go to get taken care of during the day while I'm at work--he gets to play with his doggie pals and the dog-loving staff! I really couldn't ask for a more positive experience. I recommend Camp Bow Wow to any dog owners who need a place for an energetic dog to get some energy out or a dog with separation anxiety, or simply a place for them to get taken care of and fed when you need to go on a trip! :) read more

The team was quick to respond and very helpful, making sure all my questions were answered. What really stood out was their attention to detail. Every interaction was professional and friendly. I started bringing my 1 year old GSD, "Wednesday" to Camp Bow Wow about 2 months ago one day a week for all day camp play..... She cannot get out of the car fast enough to get inside and at pick up time she is just as happy but a lot more tired. The staff is professional,full of energy and love. I have never thought twice about leaving my baby in their very capable hands... Huge shout out to Brianna and Jemma for the extra love they give to my dog, its obvious by the kisses that Wednesday is always willing to give them! read more

Camp Bow Wow took excellent care of my French Bulldog while I left him overnight. He was returned to me clean, happy and even had a better temperament. He had so much exercise and fun interaction that he was actually calm and cuddly when he got home to me. He did not go around the house chewing on the kids toys or messing things up like he always does, he was just content and relaxed after all the playing he did. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of daycare or boarding for their dog. read more

My Wheaten, Teddy, was a regular camper for all of his life and now my Schnauzer, Roxie, goes there and loves it. I am extremely particular and careful with my furbabies. David, Karen and the entire staff are excellent and they deserve my trust because they have earned it. The facility is clean and well organized. I've been bringing my dog Bruno to camp bow wow for the past year and I cannot speak highly enough about the place! Bruno loves playing with the other dogs and it makes me happy to know that when I leave him there he isn't just sitting around in crate all day. The staff are all very friendly and its clear that they really care about the dogs. What a great place to bring your dog! I have been bringing my dog here since June 2023. She absolutely loves it! When we pull up to the building, my dog begins jumping in excitement and eagerly waiting to be let out. Once we get inside, she is greeted with a warm smile and a good morning. They remember her name, which is even better with a dog who is a little shy with people. They are all so kind no wonder why my Nova loves going. Jim and his staff are wonderful!! read more

We can't recommend Camp Bow Wow Rockland highly enough! As soon as we turn onto Route 304, our dog begins to howl with excitement. Cooper, our COVID-era pup who initially struggled with anxiety, eagerly pulls us through the door each time. My husband and I are incredibly thankful for the choice we made to bring him here. Karen, Crissy, and Bethany always greet us with smiles, and seeing Cooper's joyful reaction to them reassures us that he's in excellent hands. read more

Everyone is super nice at Camp Bow Wow, and I feel secure that they are taking good care of my furry baby. I also love that the dogs all get to run around and play together. It's great for socialization and exercise. Plus, you can even watch them all playing on CBW's webcams. My dog goes bananas when I ask her if she wants to go play with her friends at Camp Bow Wow. This is the only doggie care place I would trust my dog to. The attention and care the staff offers Sunny is unmatched. She loves going to camp and is exhausted when she gets home. Has lots of fun as I get to monitor her on the closed circuit cameras. A great way for a dog to be a dog . I highly recommend Camp Bow wow to anyone who loves their doggo. read more

Iggy loves going to camp so much I almost feel bad picking him up. Josh and Jemma are polite, professional and most importantly they absolutely love dogs. The prices are reasonable but the peace of mind is priceless. I recommend Camp Bow Wow to every other dog owner I know, and not one has had anything but positive things to say! read more

This place is incredible ! Our dog goes in with huge energy and joy and comes back all tired, dirty and happy!
