One of two wounds from an overnight stay.

Do what you want with this information. But every time I've left my pup at camp bow wow I end up having to pay a vet the following day. You're gonna need to sign a form that says rough play can lead to injury but in my opinion that is largely a cop-out for doing a poor job at keeping dogs safe. The camp counselors allowed me to leave without letting me know he was injured. And when I came back from noticing they claimed they didn't even see the cut!

    Koda loves Camp Bow Wow!

I have no idea why there are bad reviews of such an amazing place! I love Camp Bow Wow and I have nothing bad to say about it. I could actually go on and on about how great they are. I bring my husky here quite often! He loves it! He will run to the door, sit, and raise his paw when he is asked if he wants to go to daycare. It makes me happy that he's so excited. I love that the camp counselors communicate so well. My pup had some dried blood in his ear, and they called me to let me know everything they were doing to find the cause. It was very comforting! I can't imagine taking Koda anywhere else for daycare.

    Dog abuse

For background I am a Vet Tech and previous dog trainer. I have been in the animal care field for many years. I've seen so much abuse to animals it breaks my heart. I have a rescue dog who was physically abused and neglected prior to me adopting her. She loves dogs but is people hesitant. I trusted this place with my baby and was heartbroken to see they abuse dogs and then lie about "firing" abusive employees. My dog was physically pushed around and hit multiple times at this location in the same day while I watched and recorded on their camera. I also watched them physically abuse other dogs. I have video of them pinning dogs to the ground and smacking my dog across the face repeatedly. When confronted all they did was not charge me for daycare and then call the next day and say they fired the employee. I was understanding at the time and wasn't blaming management just the guy who abused my dog because in the past I had seen them handle my baby with care. Come to find out the day I decide to give them a second chance I pulled up the cameras and the same "fired" employee is back and instead of calling me they stick my dog alone in a play pin for hours. When I picked up my baby they continued the lies cause they didn't want the people in the lobby knowing they keep dog abusive employees. I'm sorry but I will never forget his face and you can't trick me into believing he happens to have a lookalike that you hired. While I wanted to run in there and smack around the guy who dared touch my baby I kept my cool and tried to be understanding of the situation. They told lie after lie and when I'd catch them in the lies they didn't have answers for me. (Example I asked if that's not the guy who abused my dog why is she alone? Their response was they're waiting to put her group out. Which is funny cause when I told them he's standing in the group of the same exact dogs my dog was with that morning her face went bright red and she had no response for me) I hope this location gets shut down. I am doing my best to make sure that happens. If I'm able to I will attach the video recording of their fine employee abusing mine and other dogs. At the very least I'll attach a screen grab of him pinning the dog to the ground then his "oh shit head scratcher"moment of eye contact with the camera where he stands up and walks away from the dogs he just abused after realizing people are probably watching.

We took our golden retriever there while on vacation for approximately two weeks. We brought his own bed for him to sleep on and enough individually packaged food for his stay. When we picked him up, one of the employees brought out a dirty bed which he had apparently been sleeping on (not the one we brought as it was about half the size of the one we left there) with our dog. We also received a note from the Camp Bow Wow staff stating he had a "slight rash" on his (R) shoulder. That night we noticed constant licking of the area and obvious discomfort. We called the vet early next morning and got him in right away. The vet ended up having to shave his chest and prescribe two medications and a two different kinds of topical spray. The vet's office visit and exam cost right at $250.00. I contacted the Camp Bow Wow staff and they had someone call and feign a caring attitude but they were unresponsive when it came to taking any financial responsibility for the problem which clearly resulted from his stay at their facility. My wife bathes Taco at least once per week, blow dries him with a professional groomer's blow drier, brushes him daily and basically treats him as if he were a show dog. He has never had any problems like this before and there is just no way the rash was the result of anything he had prior to his stay at Camp Bow Wow. I would not bring any dog there ever again or recommend their facility.

Associate explained he didn't like the blow dryer. News to me because he's had baths at multiple Lucy's locations many times and regularly. They explained they were letting him air dry. Air dry a GSD? Now he smells like wet dog. When I picked him up at 12:50 no bandanna or cologne. Not the first time they missed that. Makes you wonder if all the services were performed when you pay $150. Manager attempted to interject but kept interrupting me. At that point, I was checked out. He stated he would inquire and call. No attempt to fix it right then. It's been two and a half hours and still no call. I'll drive a bit further to the 1604 location or look for another dog bather.

They ensure all vaccinations are current so your dog will be safe and complete temperament tests before your dog interacts with the pack. My boy was recently adopted from the Animal Defense League and he was so scared. I am sure he never experienced Doggy daycare before. They were patient with him and loved on him as if he was their own. When he got really nervous they separated him and gave him some space. He is now a regular several times a week. They have great financial packages, offer tons of services and soon they will opening the area to wash your own doggies. They also offer free day care if you have a primary dog and foster another and they are dropped off together. How amazing is that!!!!!! Ten stars goes to Lucy's.

Several veterinarian offices we called had no available, immediate appointments, and on recommendation from friends, our call secured a same day visit. This free standing clinic, off the corner of Babcock and Prue, offers parking aplenty. Registration is left, with "pet patient" waiting right of entry. There is a specific cat waiting area, with bench seating, and waist high walls providing a more comfortable separation from canine patients. A rather thoughtful accommodation. The clinic is spotless, quiet,... and frankly, absent the smell of four legged patients. The registration staff are professional, efficient, and pleasant throughout. The gestalt of the experience thus far is of a well organized, welcoming office suggesting commitment to very professional service. We were almost immediately ushered into an exam room, welcomed by an assistant, that entered Luna's chief complaint and history into the computer medical record, then took her to a back room for vital measurements. This lady, was clearly experienced in handling cats with tender care. Enter Doctor Haynes, absorbing our history, deftly yet gently examining our ailing kitty, reviewing the lab results, and outlining a course of therapy. To make a long story short, with the consultation of Doctor Lane, a 24 hour stay for hydration and antibiotics, our kitty was returned to well being. Whew!!! Our Luna has a newly discovered congenital kidney issue, and with the counsel of Doctors Haynes and Lane, we have charted a course that optimizes her chance for an excellent quality of life. Yelpers, I recount our experience for very good reason. I have been a practicing physician for 40 years. I understand that a satisfying medical encounter lies not just with well trained providers with stellar credentials, with terrific bedside manner, but also with their support staff, from clerical professionals, to well trained assistants. All in an environment that is reassuring, designed to minimize the anxiety that might accompany a medical encounter. These are aspects that we all appreciate as patients. But when the "rubber meets the road", we want to be assured that our doctors are well trained, and competent for any medical challenge that our furry family members might present. Let me finish by saying that these good doctors, Doctor Haynes and the medical director of the clinic, Doctor Lane, are graduates of Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. This school of veterinary medicine is consistently among the top five in the nation for veterinary education. The quality implications of their credentials are self evident. We...Luna.. are now committed to their care. I hope this review is helpful for our Yelp community. Luna gives Babcock Hills....5 paws up!!!
