I personally visited five recommended (via yelp, friends, and noticing them on my daily route) boarding locations for my dog, Ella, in our area before deciding. Camp Bow Wow stood out from the competition because of the wonderful staff. They answered all of my questions, kept the facility squeaky clean, and just loved on my dog! I really appreciated their willingness to personalize Ella's routine with special food and using her command words too. Every time we called to check on her, I could tell the staff was talking about MY dog, not just giving a generic "she's doing fine" answer. They also called ME once to update us, and we got a report card at the end. Also, we and the family we were out of town to visit LOVED the play area cameras!!! I wasn't sure if Ella wouldn't get overwhelmed with so many other dogs, but they put her with a perfect group and we could tell she loved playing with her new friends. Since Ella had never been boarded, these details meant a lot!!! Most importantly, Ella came back to us happy and healthy and bathed. We'll definitely bring her to Camp Bow Wow again! I LOVE Camp Bow Wow!!! I really like that my dogs get very excited to go and come home nice and tired from playing all day. I really like that the staff monitors the dogs to make sure everyone is playing nice and that messes get cleaned up promptly. I also really liked that they remember me and my dogs and have a little something to tell me when I come to pick up. I use them for doggie day care and have used their bathing services and they did a great job! I love being able to check in on the camper cams to see what my babies are up to and to see them enjoying their time there. I will continue to use Camp Bow wow's services as long as I'm in San Antonio:) LOVE IT! read more

I am a military person needing boarding for my pet. I called early this morning. The female on the phone informed me that there are no appointments needed for interviews I was told if I interviewed this evening, I could board my pet tomorrow through the weekend. I rushed from RAFB, grabbed my dog, and showed up for the interview. When I arrived they told me that there was no interviewing without an appointment. Huh??? I informed the rude female what I was told on the phone. She gave me paperwork, went to the back, stormed from the back and told me there would be no interview. She didn't apologize nor offer an alternate date. On to the next boarder who is happy to help a paying customer. LOL...I don't recommend RUDE CAMP BOW WOW...go figure. read more

It was my baby Gizmo's first day at camp today also his interview. All the ladies that worked today were amazing. Each one actually told me a little about Gizmo's day. They were all super nice, attentive and very informative. I really like that I am able to bring his own personal items (not like other places where you can't even bring a blanket). Also, there is webcam access free of charge! Not like other places where you get webcam only if your baby is in a suite. I actually live 30 mins away and it's so worth the drive. I will forever be a loyal customer and will recommend to all my friends. Thank you for the great experience today! read more

Such a great place! The staff is super-friendly and seem to genuinely love our pups. The fact that they called a few days after we brought our other dog in for the first time -- just to check on him -- is HUGE. It's obvious that customer service is a high priority despite Camp Bow Wow being a national business. We also appreciate the pricing structure being simple (have been to other local doggie daycare places and the pricing and packages just aren't that straightforward...which seems silly). Finally, the ability to see our dogs on the Camper Cams is also a great perk. :) So, thank you! We won't take Sasha & Hank anywhere else! read more

Camp bow wow is great! My dog loves it and she comes home tired for a day and a half. The staff has always been friendly and they provide "report cards" of your dog's activity during their stay. They also immediately call you if your dog gets even the smallest scratch and they have live webcams so you can creep on your dog all day at work. read more

As a new local to the area I could not be more happy to know that the have a camp here just miles away from my home. I've used their other locations in other states and their service and care has always been exceptional. Taking my new puppy here I knew what to expect and we are not disappointed at all. He came out happy and pooped :) just what we both needed. It's great to be able to watch my little one throughout the day on their free app and cameras and see the care of friendly staff member watching closely and interacting with all of them continuously. My dog loves camp bow wow at rocky point so much. When I ask McCoy "Do you wanna go to camp today." He jumps up, does a victory dash through the house and then goes over to his leash. The staff is just so friendly! It's nice to be able to spoil him with a nice healthy treat like a day at camp and it's nice that when I occasionally have to leave him over night when we go out of town that he's happy there. My dog Gracie stayed at camp bow bow for 10 days while I was on vacation. Camp bow wow was awesome! The staff was so friendly and quick to answer any questions I had. They sent me photos and updates of Gracie while I was away. It was so fun being able to watch her on the dog cams, she looked like she was having a blast. My Yellow Labrador has been going here since Oct 2014 when we moved here in San Antonio from Monterey,Ca. and he def. loves this place!!! Great Service, Friendly Staff & I def. Love that i can see whatever he's doing while i'm at work because they have a webcam. I like the fact that they give 10% military discount because they are a bit pricey compared to other day care services. the only reason i'm not giving them 5 stars is because I just wish they can lower their prices so they can be more affordable. I always try to refer them to my friends but my friends are actually using other day care facilities that is really affordable. Other than that Camp Bow Wow is great :) read more

This is the absolute best place for dogs. My 11 month old Boxer has been going to Camp Bow Wow for about 7 months now and absolutely LOVES it there. The counselors are fantastic, very knowledgeable and very loving towards the dogs. My pup Atari already knows the phrase, "You wanna go to camp!". He gets thrilled and jumps into the car. When turning onto Rocky Point St. he recognizes the area and starts to get excited. I recommend this place to every dog owner. You will not be disappointed. I'd give this place 10 stars if the option was available. read more

I have a large puppy with a lot of energy. She absolutely LOVES Camp Bow Wow! When I pick her up, she is exhausted from her day of play. The dogs are always supervised and when you watch on the camper cam, you will usually see someone walking around with the dogs, and petting them. If needed, I will not hesitate to board Basil here! My girlfriend takes our husky to camp bow wow for daycare, and we have noticed he is a much happier dog. I love that they have such a good line of communication. If you are leaving your pet for day camp then CBW is ok. If, however, you plan on leaving your pet for an extended stay; BEWARE! You will get the same service as leaving your pet at the SPCA. Metal crates and zero supervision between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM. My dog bled from her rectum for 12 hours before I was notified when I was over 1200 miles away and powerless to help her. They asked me "what would I like to do?" I told them to call a vet and was informed that since it was Sunday, they were at a disadvantage and would watch her. I was forced to find an individual who would take her to the vet. Very bad situation. read more

We took our new puppy To try out Camp Bow Wow Saturday. She is from the Animal Rescue. A shy, sweet girl who had been attacked by a larger dog before we got her. We were nervous taking her in to try. But the minute we walked in we were put at ease. We can download an app to keep an eye on her all the time we are gone. They introduced her to 1 dog at a time to help her feel comfortable. I love this place! I have a small dog that is very timid, but she is so happy at Camp Bow Wow. They have web cams all over the facility so that you can see your pups playing with other dogs and you can tell they have a blast. What's better is that she is exhausted by the time I pick her up and sleeps during the ride home. The staff is very loving and even greets my dog as soon as we walk in the door. It's nice to know that my dog is getting attention and playtime throughout the day rather than being stuck at the apartment. I HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

I tried out Camp Bow Wow which is super close to my folk's house. I normally go to Petsmart for day camp but found this and thought I would try it. Seems like my pup had a really great day and there were pictures to prove it! Three major selling points for me were (1) ability to watch and check on my pup via their cameras, (2) outdoor playtime and (3) one tired pup! I am very happy with the experience and will definitely schedule another stay the next time I am in town! read more

Excellent place! Our dog was happy and exhausted after coming home following a day at "camp." The service was exceptional - workers were warm, welcoming, and helpful. A few weeks after our initial visit, we ended up having our dog stay in one of the suites while we were away on vacation and were able to rest easier, especially because we could check up on her via the webcams whenever we wanted. Our out-of-state family thoroughly enjoyed watching the webcams as well. She seemed to enjoy herself and gets excited whenever we arrive in the parking lot. We brought our dogs in for their "interview" for camp and they absolutely loved it! I was a little nervous as one of our girls has never been to doggy daycare but they made the process as smooth as possible. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions. Very professional dog care, and we really appreciate it. Our dog had an allergic reaction while leaving the camp on our last vacation. Manager and staff showed the right amount of concern and decision making capability and all turned out very well. Interview process was painless, and we appreciate what they are trying to achieve through that process. My fur-kiddo had his "interview" last week and stayed for the day. I was so impressed by the hospitality of the staff and the front desk employee knew the name of every dog that came in. I could tell she really enjoyed her job and genuinely cared for the dogs. We have used Camp Bow Wow a few times to board our dog, Lefty while we are on vacation. They have done a wonderful job and he loves going there! He was shy at first, but he warmed up to the workers and other dogs quickly! Every person I come into contact with at Camp Bow Wow is so sweet and helpful and I know that I can trust them with my beloved dog! I love the fact that I can access the camp cameras on my iPhone anywhere I am so that gives me the extra sense of security that my dog is being well cared for. On our last vacation, we boarded Lefty here for about a week. We were so impressed with their high level of care- we received a call from them with a concern over some blood in Lefty's urine. They explained how they will keep a close eye on him and contact the vet if it continues. They did keep a close eye, and fortunately, it was something that went away that same day- probably caused by some stress (Lefty can be anxious around new dogs!). Being in another state at the time, we felt reassured that our dog's health was their top concern and we were very happy to hear that everything was fine. We have used another local dog boarding facility in SA, but have found Camp Bow Wow to be #1 for us. I also love that it has both indoor and outdoor play areas- with this Texas heat, it makes me feel better that Lefty has the option of going into a cool area if it gets too hot. I definitely recommend Camp Bow Wow- they are affordable, clean, and very helpful! read more
