    My dogs torn ear

Dear business manager... My dog was attacked by another dog, per the verbal description I've saved from voicemail. THERE WAS NO PLAY!!! Your staff said the other dog was banished from your facility My INDOOR dog was sick in less than 36 hours after leaving your kennel...He contracted the parasite at YOUR FACILITY.... its ok to be truthful going forward Miguel Zevallos

I have no clue how this place is rated so high. My only assumption is that it close and convenient. I tried this place three times now. I gave the place another try with my 3lb poodle, Lulu, because the groomer that did my golden specialized in small dogs. She did a good job. I was happy with it. She wasn't sweet with Lulu at all either. Oh well. So already, not great experiences. FLASH FORWARD TO RECENTLY. Each time, it is so chaotic and busy. I took my 3 pound poodle there on Wednesday, April 20th. My poodle is super tiny, and requires a groomer that knows how to handle a dog that small. I called to make appointment and found out the lady who had been grooming small dogs forever, had retired. No problem. I asked if my dogs size would be a problem, as I know she's difficult to groom. They told me the new groomer was great, and there wouldn't be a problem. I drop Lulu off for her appointment. I barely get home, and receive a call from the groomer. She sounds worried and concerned, and says Lulu has bruising all over her crotch area and down her leg. I was obviously shocked. I asked if it could be dirt or something, and she immediately shot that down. I turned around to go get her. Super worried. Upon arriving, I looked at the "bruises" and once again asked, did you try to wash it off? She quickly responded, yes! She then went on to tell me that Lulu could have only gotten the bruises from a severe impact. And went on to question me about how they could be there. I felt super judged. This dog is beyond spoiled, and there's no way she could have gotten bruises. After asking a third time if they tried to wash it off, I started to get worried. I ended up having to take her to the emergency vet down in Tucson. Waited there. They took her back, and came back out in 5 minutes. IT WAS DIRT. Of course I could have tried to wash her "bruises" off myself, but in past experiences, I've always trusted a groomer that they probably know more about dogs than me. And I didn't want to rub an area that potentially was bruised. I digress. I should have taken her somewhere else after that. But I didn't. I rescheduled for next day, Thursday, April 21st. I was very clear with the groomer that I didn't want hardly any hair cut off. Just a super slight trim. And that we are growing her hair out for teddy bear look. It has taken us SIX months to grow her hair out from her summer cut last year. It was just getting long enough to be super cute, like a teddy bear cut. The girl said she understood. Flash forward to picking her up. It was a ZOO. I honestly feel bad for the people that work there. It's such a chaotic environment. GROOMING PART She was cut SO SHORT! And has bald patches in several spots. She also has a decent size CUT on her neck, and then on the inside of her thigh/belly. Her ear hair was cut with a harsh line. And her body is short, while her leg hair is long. Then around her neck, she's almost bald. I was shocked, as we discussed something completely different. And now all her hair was gone. I called back, and the groomer, Shelby, sounded super upset. And told me that Lulu was really wiggly, and she just wanted it to be even. And that she was matted. Also, that she does her best. Umm, she was slightly matted on her legs. The hair on her back wasn't even long enough to matte. And that makes no sense, because she left her leg hair LONG and made her body super short The groomer was young, and sounded like she was starting to cry. I felt super bad, and told her it was fine. I mean, we've all had a crap day at work. But as the days have gone on, the more flaws I see in the grooming. I tried to explain to the groomer, Shelby, that she needs to communicate more. If she can't complete the desired result for a client, that's fine!! But you have to TELL THEM! I would have much rather her called me and told me what was going on, and I would have taken the extra 25 minutes to drive to a better groomer in Tucson. It really sounds like she cut too short in one spot, then kept going to try and even it out. I know it's just dog hair, but it's kinda sad. My dog looks NOTHING like any type of hair cut I would ever choose. I honestly hate it. She looks like a rat. And now I have to wait another 6 months for it to grow back out. And also, the cuts. The cut on her leg? Ok, stuff happens, but her neck!?! Heck no. I've never had such a poor experience with grooming. IF YOU CANT DO WHAT IS REQUESTED, LET THE CLIENT KNOW. Then they can decide what they want to do.

    Inflamed Paw

I boarded my dog at Camp Bow Wow for 5 days in Oct. I thought I had peace of mind going off reviews and being able to see my dog via their webcams, but I was WRONG. I would not recommend this place for boarding to anyone. During my dog's stay I would periodically check the cameras at different times and he was no where to be seen. I called and they advised me he was being forced to nap during the day. When we picked up my dog, he was anxious and scared. He had an eye infection and inflamed paw (please see attached photos). When I called to follow up, I spoke to Amanda (the manager), they plead ignorance and did not apologize. This place has been negligence, unsafe, and as a pet owner, I would not subject my pet to these conditions if I knew. Pet owners, be wary.

Our puppy Junie was extremely reactive to other dogs and we felt like she would never get better. We enrolled her in the puppy elementary classes at about 5 months old. Kim and Jamaal were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout all of her behaviors, week after week. After she finished the group classes we did 2 private lessons with Kim and Jamaal and I can't say enough great things about the two of them. Junie is such a different dog from the day we started with Sol Dog and we couldn't be more grateful for Kim and Jamaal. I can't recommend Sol Dog Lodge enough!

There is some confusion about the locations of Sol Dog. When I first signed up to board my dogs, I…read morethought I was dealing with the people from Sol Dog on Prince Road. That statement is 1/2 right. Looks like the Sol Dog on Prince now has a new name and that owner used to be part of Sol Dog but is not anymore. My dogs were boarded in May 2026 for 4 days. All did not go well. I have spoken to Justin and Shelley from Sol Dog and BOTH of them have now said "that's not how we normally do things". When I spoke to Shelley today and told her that they had to say, "that's not normally how we do things", for 3 separate issues her reply made me want to do reviews so other people could see that the service I got was exactly how they normally do things. Issue 1- on our tour of the facility (beautiful facility) we were led to believe that we would be allowed to settle our dogs in their kennel. We were not. Shelley said, "that people are not allowed in the kennel area". When I told her that we were taken into the kennel area on our tour, she said "that's not normally how we do things". Issue 2- We gave written on paper instruction on how to feed our dogs. and put the instructions in their system. Not complicated. One dog gets dry and wet food. The other gets wet food only. The dog that got wet food only was fed dry food. Sol Dog sent me a text on day 2 that they were almost out of dry food. When I called and questioned how they were feeding my dogs, I was told they were feeding them correctly. It wasn't until I sent them an email that they admitted to feeding my dog incorrectly. Guess what I was told??? You guessed it "that's not how we normally do things". Issue 3- Communication. I was told that someone from Sol Dog would communicate with me and let me know how the dogs were doing a couple times a day. The evening I dropped them off I did hear from someone. The next day Nothing. The 3rd day I sent a text at 730am and did not hear back till 330pm. GUESS WHAT? "THATS NOT HOW WE NORMALLY DO THINGS". Some issues I brought up with Justin that I didn't bring up with Shelley. My dog blankets and toys were not dirty, had no dog hair and smelled like I just took them out of my dryer. I had a lot of treats left over and if they were given to the dogs like I was told they would be, there should not have been that much left. Sol Dog left such a bad taste that I told them I would never board with them again. Justin and Shelley both agree that since they were told I would never board with them again that there was not much they could do to fix the issue. I was not told they were sorry. I was not offered any refund, not that I would have taken it. They did have to pay the staff to feed my dogs wrong and not give them their toys, blankets or treats. All in all, I feel like the experience that I had with Sol Dog is EXACTLY HOW THEY NORMALLY DO THINGS.

When we started with Four Footed Fitness, we had 3 senior cats and scheduled two 30 minute visits each day. We've stayed with this schedule, even though we now have younger cats. The team is great! They open shades when they come in the morning and take care of feeding, freshening water, and play time. In the evening, they clean the litter box, take care of feeding, and play with the cats. They also bring in the mail, close the shades, take out trash, and check the fountain outside - adding water, if needed. We get photos and a message from both the morning and evening visits each day. The team also checks in to make sure we arrived home at the scheduled time. It's nice to know that they have our cats covered if we're delayed for any reason! We highly recommend Glenda and her team.

I have a 3 year old rescue poodle mix with a history of separation anxiety and inability to tolerate being crated. When I first got him 2 years ago he hurt himself pretty bad trying to get out of a crate. I explained this to Erin twice - when I went for the tour and 10 days later when I called to make the reservation. On the tour Erin showed me the standard "suite" which is a long hallway with animal shelter-type chain link kennel and the "deluxe" suite which is a single block wall room with walled outdoor run. I told Erin he would need a "deluxe" suite and lots of human and dog play time due to his separation anxiety disorder. This place does NOT require a meet and greet with your dog. I left my dog at 4:15 pm on Thursday 2/9 and again asked for as much dog and human play time as possible. I did not have to sign anything or leave a credit card. The next morning, Erin called me to let me know that Max had a little scrape on his nose and that they didn't want me to be surprised by the injury at pickup. I asked her what happened and she said there had been a big wind storm during the night and that the morning feeder person found him bloody - he had been trying to get out under the steel door. That's when I first realized THERE'S NO ONE THERE AT NIGHT. When I picked him he could hardly walk. The bridge of his nose was badly scraped. His chin, lips and gums were badly injured. His toe pads on his two front feet were shredded - he was limping from the pain. He looked like he had been beaten down. I asked Erin why she didn't tell me there's NO night staff and she said "You didn't ask." AYFKM?? There is NOTHING on their website indicating they have no one there overnight. For my dog this was no "vacation," not a "resort," and he was not treated like "family" despite what their website says. And the vet bill was twice what the boarding fee would have been - at least. And FWIW my daughter's lab won't be back - my daughter was also shocked to hear there's NO ONE THERE AT NIGHT!!!
