The only thing going for this spot is live music and kid friendly. Oh and it has a bar. Outside of those things the service is sub-par, food is not much better than public school cafeteria fare, and overall a giant letdown. I feel like this is due to order at the front, and waiting for the food to be brought to you. No follow-up, no checking back. If you do ask for a something, you can assume you're not getting it. We have came here a few times after being invited by friends, and the food is just poorly produce. Chicken fried steak had no flavor, Classic burger was nothing better than Burger King, but at triple the price. Got my son the chicken tender basket, and he wouldn't even eat it. He is 3. He literally only eats chicken tenders and quesadillas! They were tough, and poorly seasoned. If you're going to buy cheap quality meat, learn how to brine and tenderize. Such a great concept and so much potential ruined. If you do go, watch how many parents just have drinks from the bar, and no food while their kids run around and play. This is a really good place whether you are looking for live music at night or ample space for the family to hang out and the kids to play. They have a stage, screens, and even a t-ball court to accommodate everyone. The place definitely makes you feel like you are at a summer camp with the staff being super nice and always looking to help. They recently changed the interior layout to include a counter in which you place your order. The food options are all great but I would specially recommend their burgers. They add a magic touch with those sweet Texas onions and the smoky flavor on the beef. It is well priced and a great option for the weekend. read more

This is a cool little hang out spot for the whole family. The yard offers corn hole and other outdoor games and a stage for live music. We ordered brussel sprouts as an appetizer and it took a while for them to be delivered and they came out room temperature and tasted like they had been sitting for a while. The wedge salad with shrimp came out with wilting and browning lettuce. The service was mediocre outdoors (young wait staff- enough said) but when we went inside to the bar the service improved. If I went again with a group of friends or family it would be just for the atmosphere and drinks. read more

Love this place! Local/hometown feeling. They have a great cocktail menu and the food is delicious as well. It's a fun to place to watch a game and let the kids (if you have any) roam around. We've visited CB many times since it's opening, and a handful of times since their "fine tuning" in July. Unfortunately it's gone from "let's go to CB" to "let's remember we don't go to CB." We were reminded of this last night. The food continues to disappoint - the chicken nachos were soggy and cold and the sauce on my husband's patty melt tasted soured. However - the fries were tasty and crisp. Food quality needs improvement and if you want a tip (literally), please return to the full service concept. You want soda/water refills, cocktails from the bar, to go boxes, or someone checking in to see if you need anything - nada - you're on your own. It's a great venue with an outdoor area and stage for entertainment. There is so much potential and room for improvement. The owners work hard to perfect their other establishments and they've done a great job. I guess they thought the original concept was broken and needed fixing. 8 of us went at at 5pm Sunday. Got a great table inside. Outside was packed. Service was slow to say the least. Young man that served us was very nice but had 6 full tables and looked like he was running food outside as well. He was efficient when we flagged him down. Food was very good. Simple but done well. Decided to try out camp right side. While the atmosphere is fabulous and it would be great for family. The food is just not up to par. We were a little disappointed that we left the 20% tip only to find out that they only bring out the food, they don't fill or refill drink. They don't even come and check on you. The pricing was very high. It was $20 for a hamburger and french fry. We wouldn't be upset paying for that except for the food was mediocre at best. My chicken fried steak was burnt and flavorless and I also didn't appreciate how they put the green beans on top of the mashed potatoes and the chicken fried steak on top of that. I had to dig all my green beans out of the mashed potatoes. I did like the fresh charred green beans and the mashed potatoes. My husband had the fajitas and he said they were OK but definitely wouldn't want to come back again. I tasted his guacamole and it just tasted like lime. Sadly disappointed today. Went to dinner with friends and raved about our experience back in October. Ordered margaritas...those were NOT margaritas. Sent them back and order very basic drinks. Again no alcohol. Guys beware they are watering down the drinks. Also food was subpar....so surprised as our meals last visit was wonderful. We had to ask 3 times for extra chips, charged for milk we never ordered and overall the experience was terrible. Do not recommend and so sad because we live so close and would love going back but between the service and food I'm not sure. They also need to improve options to reserve ahead of time. Not fair to families with young kids waiting for so long. I'd rather drive a way out to get reservations rather than deal with the wait. read more

Visited there Friday Sep 13th at about 1:30. First the Pros: 1. Camp Briteside (CB, I cant keep typing that name!) is on the far Northwestern edge of Georgetown, outside of the city limits, where neighborhoods are popping up everywhere and there is *nothing* out here (because I live out here) other than the Andice Store. So, the "Gold" team chose well. They converted a vacant warehouse that has served a few, short term businesses. 2. The refurb and layout reminds me of the many brew houses in Austin that caters to young families with young kids by building outdoor fun areas (eg., Celis Brewery). They then added a full restaurant/bar and can serve an even wider audience. 3. Its like 4 minutes from my house! 4. The staff was amazing (with one exception). 5. The food prices were slightly below what I was expecting, given this is the same bunch that owns The Golden Rule. Pricing seems to follow The Gold Burger Diner model. I would perhaps expect it to be lower than in town simply due to the fact that it is not in the City limits and subject to the ridiculous rents one sees around The Square. 6. Rueben the close manager is awesome. I was asking a hostess what our bar maids name was since the ticket only said "BAR" and that is when Rueben came over and we started talking. Great guy, very good presence, and he helped us out due to our server issues. The sign of great management is when the manager walks the floor, checking in on customers. Now some Cons: 1. Someone at the Gold company needs to brush up on their Internet presence. And no, it isn't expensive. CB has no venue webpage -- and I do not count a Facebook site as a web presence. Social media presence? Sure. Even The Gold Diner webpage still says "Coming in Spring 2024" LOL. 2. We were unfortunately seated at a table whose assigned server was out sick -- so we got one of the bar staff. The bar maid did not introduce herself, did not know the menu, and checked back once. This was while we watched other wait staff continually checking with their tables. Did I add that the bar maiden did not really know what off-menu beer she had on tap? Always ask for off-menu on-tap --- it is a good exercise. 3. Did I mention that our food came out late, was apparently sitting in the window to the point of my wife's bottom bun being completely soaked and spongy? That goes back to #2 above. 4. My personal opinion is the beer is a little overpriced and there are way too few taps - I was hoping this would be more like Mesquite Outfitters (which Gold owns) but sadly it is not. Sure domestics are cheaper, but for me that is not what beer is about these days. I'd say CB will struggle for just hanging out and having a large choice -- which one gets at MO. 5. Now the food. We only had the classic burger with fries. Honestly, the burger patty itself was not seasoned or well seasoned, just kind of ok. It is my guess that the angus patties are frozen/preformed and I am guessing are pre-cooked earlier then simply re-heated (a lot of restaurants do this, very common). Perhaps the owner will let us know. Picture attached. Oh, and the cheese was really not melted as one can see in the picture. 6. Our bar maid told us the seasoned fries came out of a bag (there is another story about that elsewhere on this site which will answer "why did you ask about the fries?") and they basically would know what they were made of when I asked her if she could ask the kitchen staff. I found that really odd. Then I did ask one of the food runners and he went and asked and the kitchen staff knew exactly what they were made of. Can't make this stuff up. Overall impression: CB is nicely done, well laid out, a nice addition to this forgotten part of Georgetown and we will be back. Sure, there are growing pains and I REALLY hope the owner pays attention to what I feel is a very honest and respectful review. CB appears to be ALWAYS busy (did I mention we live 4 minutes away?) which is likely a function of the fact that it is the ONLY place out here! CB is worth a revisit, plus it does mean not having to drive into town to go to Mesquite Outfitters - but dang, the selection! read more

We went for our first time the other day, and absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is fantastic! Fun, clean, very spacious. I love the outside area. Our food was terrific! I had the chicken sandwich, and it was excellent. The rest of our group had burgers and said they were great! The servers were very accommodating and friendly. I am editing my review because the manager stopped by to talk to us, apologized for the server's behavior and took care of us. They were short staffed and our server was the bartender. However, for a bartender, she didn't know what beers were on tap. We will come back and give them another try, but only because of the manager, the hostess and the young man who brought out our food - all of whom apologized for our server and for the way my gluten free option was prepared. If our next visit goes better, I will adjust my review and rating. So far, as a person with a gluten sensitivity, I'm not impressed. Their menu clearly states to "please inform your server if any food allergies or restrictions". So, I asked our waitress if the fries had a coating on them and her reply was 'I don't know, look at the customer's plate next to you'. So my husband asked if she could go ask the kitchen if the fries had a coating and her response was 'they don't know - it comes in a bag' Don't tell me to inform you if you can't tell me which food I can't have. Not a gluten-free friendly place. I can't imagine what they tell people with other allergies. When my burger was delivered on on a gluten free bun (they don't have a lettuce wrap option) the bottom bun was so soggy that it broke into 3 pieces and I had to eat it upside down using only the top bun. I don't expect restaurants to make special accommodations for my gluten issues, but if you offer an option, make an effort to prepare it right. Or offer lettuce wraps, they're less expensive and a lot of people are watching their carbs these days. Waitress seems completely distracted and uninterested in our table. read more
