The beer was excellent, and the staff made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely fun to chat with. I was especially happy to find such a great spot so close to my hotel. This is definitely going to become a regular stop whenever I'm in Tacoma. Granted it is more on the snack type fare as opposed to a meal but I knew I had to try it. Their other tasting room at the orchard doesn't do this so I knew to make this a priority to go here. I have previously loved their ciders and I knew the food would be good too. And indeed it did not disappoint at all. We got Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs and some Pumpkin Donuts. Both were phenomenal. The snack menu in general looked really creative and unique but the eggs is what won us over. And the donuts. The food was extremely fresh and very flavorful. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. The Deviled Eggs were lovely and the Pumpkin Donuts had a layer of filling and were presented kind of like a sandwich but they didn't last long and were delicious. The cider is of course as good as it ever has been. I got a Wild Fermented Cider that had a great and intriguing after taste to it. It had a dry, tart, apple and clean flavor characteristics to it along with a nice ring with the fermented aspect at the end of each sip. The cider is nice and light bodied also. What a great stop this was... not that I was expecting anything different but a five star experience all the way!

They allow outside food and there are a handful of options in walking distance that will do that for you. The beertender was friendly and efficient. Not a bad choice if you're in the area!

They allow you to stroll through their orchard rows at your leisure. There isn't much there for entertainment, but it's an open area that serves cider, you can bring your own snacks and games, music etc. My kids really enjoyed chasing the bullfrogs by the pond. I had sort of assumed that the kids would get bored quickly and we would leave right away. But they were so entertained playing in nature that I couldn't get them to leave for hours, which made for a relaxing afternoon for me and my wife as we sipped cider and watched them play. The cider itself is some of the best I've ever had. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur and I would rank dragon head as my top cider in the state.

The nice lady behind the bar asked me what I'd like and was fine with me telling her I just stopped by to check it out since I had never visited before. It's become my most favorite brewery in Tacoma…read more I always love coming here and though I try to be fair and rotate and support all of the independently owned craft breweries in town I am always and consistently drawn to come back to E9. Their beers are just so, so good and so different compared to when I first had them when I moved here. So if I break out of the rotation it's almost always to come here. My latest beers here was the Choco Bliss which is a Imperial Stout loaded up with chocolate flavor. It's barrel aged and a real boozy one. This was one I haven't had previously so it was a real treat to get one of those! Another really good beer that I haven't had before until my last visit was the Brown's Point CDA which is a dark ale. This had nice bitter and malty flavors to it. You can also get some fantastic pizzas here and we have gotten many over the course of our visits here. Our last item we had to eat here wasn't a pizza but a stuffed Hungarian pepper with rice. It's considered an appetizer but for us...at least for the current situation it was like having a light lunch. Finally got a chance to try it at noon today, and it was a great experience! Environment: The overall vibe is very American. There were TVs on the walls constantly playing various ball games, like today's playoff game between the Thunder and the Lakers. It was pretty busy on the weekend, especially the outdoor seating area, which was almost full. The building is an old structure dating back to the 1900s. Though it shows its age, it's very clean both inside and out--you can tell the owner really cares. Service: Our waitress was very, very friendly and professional. She gave us great recommendations, always served with a smile, checked in on us during the meal, and refilled our water. Very satisfied! Taste: Pizza: There's a funny little story: supposedly, Marco Polo went to China and saw pies, but didn't know how to wrap the filling inside, so he just put it on top--and thus the pizza was born. Personally, I think this is a myth, or many people have started fantasizing about Marco Polo because they think he was too great. But according to various unearthed historical records in China, Marco Polo never actually went to China. In fact, around 2010, more than 20 scholars organized an event called "Retracing Marco Polo's Route." After completing the journey and comparing it to what Marco Polo himself recorded, most of them concluded that he probably never made it to China. Sorry, I have a strong urge to share--went off on a long tangent about Marco Polo. But the pizza was really delicious. It should be truly fire‑baked, not oven‑baked. The sauce was well‑balanced, and the toppings were generous and fresh. My wife and I ate more than half of it! Salad: The dressing and cheese were very generously applied, and the greens were fresh. Chicken wings: They had a pleasant sweet‑savory taste, just right. Unlike most American restaurants where they're too salty or too sweet, these were perfectly balanced. All the dipping sauces were good. Overall, highly recommended!
