Popped in on a Saturday afternoon. I had the sour. As I'm generally a dark beer guy the rest of the offerings on tap weren't my cup of tea. The sour was good. The lady at the counter was nice. The service was really quick. I wish they had their current taplist on their website. I might have waited to visit when they had more than one beer I was interested in. I think I am going to have to bump up a star with North 47 Brewing Company. We don't make it over here much as it's in Brown's Point. We never disliked the beer but it was also not one of our most favorite breweries in Tacoma. But we have learned that it looks like new ownership has taken over at this brewery. The name remains the same. The merchandise is mostly the same in concept but with a few tweeks. Probably what we noticed most was the beer recipes changed as did some of the beer options. We felt like it was an improvement actually. We have been here twice now since the changes and it definitely generates more motivation to go over there. We have had a few very tasty lighter beers since on the first visit. On the second we had a great Black IPA called Nightmare 21. Black IPA'S aren't super common so we get them when we can. Another fun dark beer was Haunted Windchimes was what it was called. The name itself sold me on wanting it but it didn't disappoint either. So looking forward to more frequent returns to North 47! read more

Love this place, especially since it's in our backyard. They only serve beverages, so if you come hungry, you will need to patronize the pizza place or a random food truck out front. The beers are definitely worth trying and they offer a four-pour flight so you can figure out which you like. They have a good selection of non-hoppy beers, which is right up my alley. We had a nice experience at North 47 Brewing Company. We had an hour to kill, so decided to stop in. They have a wide selection of beer, cider, and seltzer. The bartender was very friendly and she had a great, mellow playlist. The vibe was super chill, which I appreciate. They also have free popcorn, other snacks, and soda for purchase. If you're wanting an actual meal, every day, they have a different food truck parket out front. They have a list of all of the food vendors for the month so you can see what's coming up. Heard about North 47 through Harvest Host an app that helps you find places to spend the night with your RV. The place is a small batch brewery. The employees were friendly and helpful is describing there beer. They don't have food but they allow food brought in through a board with suggestions of local eateries. I did try their beer but I did try a few of their seltzers. The seltzers were refreshing and flavorful. The place had a nice small town watering hole feel to it. And they are dog friendly too. I want to like this place because it's in my neighborhood and today we gave it another try but again it was just meh. Beer selection is ok, there were 3 that were "coming back soon". I tried some chocolate porter and it tasted too sweet. I tried a kőlsch that tasted a bit soapy and ended ordering a small glass of the one other porter or stout they had, it was just ok but drinkable. This is a great smaller brewery that has outdoor seating available! Service is always great. It is a smaller family-owned brewery. Ambiance is your typical brewery setting they have a few tvs to watch games. They also have other games available board game/card games. This is my old neighborhood right here; I can remember my parents driving us to this address back when it was just a little green shed of a grocery store called "Bergie's," and none of this other stuff was here at all. Having room for half a dozen businesses still feels "new" to me, but let's face it, it's been a couple decades since these buildings went up. That end space still can't make up its mind which supermarket it's gonna be, though. It changes hands every couple years. Bergie's outlived all of the other ones put together, I think. We came in try N47 Brewing yesterday, and there was another going out of business sale sign up in the grocery store window. Maybe if you hurry you can get chips and dip on clearance, and see whether N47 will let you bring them in to have with a beer. These guys built a nice little taproom, in here with the hardware store and the diner and everybody else. I think they took over for a pizza place? Not that it matters. You just get mentally lost trying to remember all this stuff when it's your childhood home. Of course, back when I was riding my bike past this place, the thought of a brewery setting up shop in such a small space was beyond imagining; back then, breweries were only huge factories, there were no restaurant-sized community gathering place breweries. N47 has brought that model home to Browns Point. There is a big bar halfway back, with flat screens tuned to the game visible from all the stools and tables. Tables and chairs fill the front of the space; presumably the brewhouse is in back. They have charming signs out front and inside, encouraging everyone to enjoy themselves, without any corny undergraduate innuendo--more like a fun dinner party. The staff are super pleasant and friendly, and the beers are listed on hand-lettered chalkboards above the bar and in the taproom. They have great shirts, hats, glasses, and tap handles--all the iconography is just spot-on everywhere you look. They have a solid little line of easy-drinking anglo ales; IPA, ESB, blond, and so on. What we tried was okay, but we're here REALLY early in the game, so they're still dialing in their system. If I still lived around here, I would be in here all the time without a doubt. read more

This place overall is great! I have family in the area and they go here all the time. I attended with them yesterday and just have some serious concerns. There was a gal as the tender yesterday who did three things very wrong. 1: I was never ID'd. I'm of age and had my ID on me of course but she is lucky I wasn't the liquor board. 2: never ever tell your customers that you are hungover from the night before. It's highly unprofessional. And 3: why on earth are you drinking the beer while on shift? Tasting glass or not. It's just not okay. I am a server myself and I was just shocked. The beer here is amazing though! I appreciate how N47 provides an experience for an area of Tacoma that does not much entertainment and choices for food & beverage. The server even offered recommendations for food during my visit. His recommendation was a huge homerun, Lumpia World. This Filipino-Japanese-Chamorro fusion paired perfectly with N47 beers. Cheers! read more

I use to frequent this business quite often. Today I stopped in and the bartender was too involved with her phone to partake in conversation with anyone. When I started conversation with her she was quick to answer questions, then just return back to her phone. Maybe because I wasn't a regular anymore? Two other customers were on either side of me scrolling through FB and didn't communicate with her either other than when they finished their glass she offered another. So that is good that she was attentive enough to notice they were empty, but no conversation until they declined and left did she entertain the idea of conversation with the only other patron at the bar...(me). I'm not a needy person and don't need anymore friends but don't like to drink in silence either. When you see a customer not involved on a screen and your wifi password is talk2eachother you'd think you might just entertain a conversation with someone who obviously wants to be here. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. We had originally planned to go to the Indian restaurant next door, but were lured in by catchy signs. Once inside, we asked about food. They don't serve any, but told us to grab take out from the diner nearby and come back with it to enjoy with a brew. Very cool to find a bar that will let you bring in your own food!! Next, we weren't quite sure what to try. So we got two tasters -- shared them -- and were able to try all beers on tap. The bartenders were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They made us feel like we were the only customers they had. We enjoyed eating our take-out, sampling all the beers, and just visiting in a bar that wasn't loud and crazy. We could easily see ourselves bringing friends back to visit and hang out. While there, we saw a family bring a birthday cake in and have a birthday party with beers. Way cool. They had games and fun stuff that made it clear they cater to the hang out crowd. The beers were yummy. We aren't really IPA people, so that wasn't our favorite, but the Hefe, the fresh hops, and the coffee cream were all notable favorites. They brew locally and it was delicious. We were impressed enough to buy shirts. We will definitely be back for more beers and hanging out -- highly recommend this place!! read more

I really liked this brewery! Plus the area definitely needed something. I had the Bitchin' Betty blonde which was a very tasty blonde ale. I also tried the porter which wasn't too heavy and had that coffee taste typical of a porter. It's always nice when a brewery is still small you can talk to the actual owners.
