He rode the bus from Kosair Brownsboro to Camp Hi Ho and back. He had a complete blast. He talked about archery, horseback riding, and fishing--and that's just what I can remember. The topper for me was that before camp ended, my phone buzzed and it was a photo from Camp Hi Ho of my son. That was a first class touch. I'm trying to attach the photo.

The entrance to Create is a toy store and it looked like they had a lot of fun items- I will definitely be back when looking for kids gifts. We were welcomed by the owners through the lego rainbow to join the party. My son was immediately so excited about all the fun activities that were set up! There were 3 sensory/play bins, a play dough station, and an art station arranged with tons of supplies for the party-goers to paint a doughnut. My son is a year and a half so he was mainly into the sensory bins. There was also a giant "cake" set up with colored shaving cream "paint" so the attendees could decorate the cake. I was a little worried that my son was making such a mess being pretty young, but the owners were really chill about it and encouraged him to participate! We had a great experience and I would love to go back to Create!

I recently attended camp Piomingo and I can most definitely say that I was under whelmed. Between…read morethe horrible food and the boring overprotective atmosphere, my friends and I can say that we were not impressed. While I attended Piomingo I did not eat anything for 2 days and I am the farthest thing from anorexic. The food is so unbearable that when I walked into the mess hall I felt a part of me just die. Everything comes out of a bag and the waffle sticks were so hard that you had to drench it in syrup just to be able to bite into it. Oh yeah, I forgot about the camp tradition hobo stew. One of my favorite camp memories was the taste of pre-overcooked processed hamburger patties mixed with processed cheddar cheese and most likely expired veggies wrapped in tinfoil and then warmed over an open fire. I was debating eating the wild berries I found in the woods so I could get sick go home and enjoy something edible. Also, the water tastes like it came straight out of a dirty shower. I couldn't find a single glass that didn't have smears, crumbs, or dirt in it. I left camp early because after the first day we had sung so many camp cheers that I had lost my voice and I don't even sing loud. The first 24 hours were so boring I wanted to get lost in the woods just so I wouldn't have to hear all the screeching cheers. There were kids that were banging on the lunch tables so hard (while the food was still on the table) and they knocked the pitcher of water off. Then they refilled it and put it back on the table and then knocked it off a second time. You would think they learned their lesson. When I asked if I could leave for obvious reasons they wanted me to wait two more days because they wanted me to give camp a fair chance. During the two days, I endured so many camp cheers I thought I was gonna die. By the time it was Wednesday afternoon I had just about had it. I asked to call my mom and they refused to let me use the phone which I thought was strange. I swear all the counselors are so OCD that if something doesn't go as planned they flip. The entire group of 36 kids were forced to sit while people went one by one on a high ropes course. Most of which would be half way up the ladder and want to go back down. I sat there for 3 hours before I got to go. While I was waiting for my turn I had the pleasure of listening to everyone sing their merry camp cheers. One kid yelled at me and I quote,"I hate you I'm gonna kill you, just kidding bro your my friend." He was breathing heavy and he did this like 15 times during my stay at the infamous Piomingo. I talked to my counselor and he told me that we can't participate in any ("fun") activities instead we went to do arts and crafts. During one of the ceremonies a kid randomly stands up and proceeded to yell HYPE at the top of his lungs like 4 times and sits down. By the way, this kid was 14. So before you send your 14+ year old child to Piomingo I would recommend finding other options because I can guarantee from personal experiences that it won't be a good fit.
