I have SO many good things to say about Camp Run-A-Mutt! The staff are all so amazing and built such a warm relationship with my dog so fast! They greet him by name whenever I drop him off for daycare so I know he's getting lots of love all day. I really enjoyed taking my pups here. I had all 3 pups stay for an extended weekend and I was relieved that I could monitor them whenever I wanted and I actually called and I could see them on the monitor checking up on my geriatric pup. The instructors taught us simple, doable commands to teach the dogs to obey and listen, as we did not want dogs jumping all over people when they came into our home. Success! We were looking for a place to board our newly-acquired grand-dog and found so much more with Camp Run-a-Mutt! First, be prepared to provide your dog for a half-day temperament test. You'll pay $25-ish for an evaluation. I think this is a good first step as the dogs are literally interacting the whole time they are there. One big-deal thing we love about Camp is that it is a place where your dog has the opportunity to have an all-day play date! It is a daycare for dogs. There are different play areas out back with things to climb on, ample shade, 'waterfall pool' area and lots of supervision! If you are wondering what your dog is doing, you can view the Muttcams accessed on the website. Onsite grooming is available (they always do a great job!) and a 1/2 day stay seems to be included! The best part (to us) is crate-free boarding! Doggie beds are put out in a living-room setting and a person stays with them overnight! They really seem to care about a dog's well-being. Before the current COVID-19 restrictions, training classes were available and occasionally a mobile vaccination clinic would be scheduled to provide services. There was a calendar on the wall listing upcoming events but currently it is curbside drop off/pick up. The website is VERY thorough and informative. Don't be surprised that some costs might be higher compared to other daycares but we feel it is commensurate with the services and level of services provided. read more

My puppers has been going to CRAM since he was 6 months old. He will be 5 next month. He started in Sorrento Valley. When we moved down south, I was estatic that there was a CRAM near by. I immediately got him temperament tested so he could familiarize himself with a new pack. The owners and staff were warm, welcoming and kind. My Ken Lee loves them all. I know they treat him well and love him like I do. I can tell by the way he runs through the door to greet whoever is at the register. The staff was friendly, the camp was clean and well equipped for all of our pets' needs. This is the MOST AMAZING dog daycare center! We have two huskies that have very different personalities and Camp Run-A-Mutt gives both exactly what they need. They work on general manners, as well as obedience while the dogs are there and I can definitely tell the difference at home! Our younger husky was not socialized when we took her for her temperament test, but Paul knew exactly how to help her and she has been doing great since we've started taking her there! She does so much better around people and is learning how to socialize with a variety of dogs. The owners and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and do all that they can to make sure that our pups are happy and that we are following up with any training at home. Reviews is how I came upon such place which at first it was a gift sent because my fur baby loved the place as much as I did with the impression they made on me. Sadly that moment of glory faded quickly. I write this review for informative purposes. I took my dog to the temperament test which he passed with flying colors after being there for 7 hours. Beyond stoked that my dog made the cut I instantly saw how my dog finally had his energy used up and he was now a much happier dog and us as owners, were happy as well. My fur baby was really excited to go to daycare and rested for a few days after going from socializing with so many dogs. On my dogs third trip there, we picked him up and brought him home to find a scrape across his chest that was bleeding. I personally didn't freak out because I know how clumsy my dog is and know dogs are doing to be dogs. I cleaned it and just let him rest since he was exhausted from his day. Next morning while petting my dog I felt some form of crust on his neck. Did my mom job and checked him out, washed him up and even went as far as clipping the fur down (he his short hair) to see exactly what was going on. I came across some form of broken skin wound that was oozing. I couldn't tell too much what it could be from but cleaned and watched it for a few days. The day came that I noticed an enlarged lump that made me rush to the vet for an abscess treatment to his neck. Vet confirmed it was from a bite. With no hesitation I called the facility and informed them of the occurrence. Someone placed me on hold and told me they had some form to fill out as protocol so she had a few questions to ask. I went through the questions and told them I understood dogs are dogs and can be unpredictable animals but I was calling in hope someone wasn't going through the same issue as I was because of my dog. She assured me shed passed the form on and inform her team. Several days of babying and healing, I felt like an incident such as that happens and sometimes no matter what, it can't be controlled. I gave the place the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to return for some boarding while we went on a trip. My fur baby still had a weird patch of shaved fur on his neck so it was visible that something occurred. Left the facility with high hopes that he would be taken care of after his noted incident. When my husband picked him up, he knew after the last incident he check for blood because we could never be too safe, negative. By the evening of picking up my baby, he was under the weather with kennel cough. Kennel cough is like a reverse sneeze for anyone who doesn't know or seen the infection in action. The Bordetella vaccine is to help with the kennel cough which is required by the facility to partake in their interaction but my dog still caught the infection pretty bad. After resting for a day I figured a bath would help and came across a well healing scab on his lower back that I know he did not have after his first attack (he had been home healing since the first one wound till the day leading up to the boarding). My baby scratched the scab off after the bath on the carpet and by removing the scab it revealed a bleeding puncture wound. That was the last straw! I called the facility and got in contact with the manager. Sought out a refund of the remainder of my day care package which I got and several apologies but that was it. When I mentioned the first time the manager seemed surprised to hear it because he had no notes of it. I told him the current wound is a taken care of wound because it scabbed nicely as if it was cleaned. He reassured me he did not see anything or notice it when he spent time with my dog. I use to be a vet technician and am very familiar with wounds. I said my final thoughts after sharing photos via email to the manager and got a nice email back about how my dog would be missed. I loved the place, my fur baby loved the place but being attacked on two separate occasions is ridiculous and no one saw anything? Sad. I have no intentions in returning and hope that this doesn't happen to anyone else. My dog is my family and it broke my heart to see him hurt. read more

We have taken our dog Boo Boo to many other day care facilities in both California and Washington. We all LOVE this place, including and foremost Boo Boo! the Staff are so friendly and helpful and I feel totally at ease leaving my baby in such well equipped hands.
