I took my dog in for grooming, and this was our first experience with Camp Run-A-Mutt. I absolutely LOVE this establishment and Ranger is planning to come back to try out daycare and other services in the future. First of all, the staff was extremely friendly. Ranger pooped at the grass before going in for his appointment, and I asked if they had a poop bag because I realized I had none left. They told me they'd pick it up for me instead and I was all good. (You should always pick up after your dog, but it's very nice when someone else offers to do it for you). Ranger was apparently very hyper today, but Laura still did an amazing job giving him a bath and trim. She was very nice and asked exactly what I wanted his trim to be like. She did a perfect job and my baby looks so handsome! He smells so fresh and clean as well. Thank you Laura for grooming Ranger! Best thing in my opinion, is that they're very affordable. Cada que abrían una de las puertas donde están los perros jugando los perros corrían, lo cual es totalmente normal porque son perros, y una de las chicas los jalaba a los que podia de una manera horrible . Si no les gusta trabajar con perros y jugar con ellos, no se que hacen en ese daycare, si quieres a tu perro NO LO LLEVES A ESTE DAYCARE, no es un lugar donde tratan bien o al menos a mi perro no lo trataron bien. Si quieres a tu perro evita llevarlo aquí. Como punto final, hay 3 personas cuidado a 30 perros, no juegan con ellos y cuando los perros juegan entre ellos los jalan de sus correas, me arrepiento totalmente de haber llevado a mi perro aquí, y le diré a cualquier persona que conozca que eviten este desagradable lugar, CONTRATEN personas mejor calificadas, que realmente les guste su trabajo, si se supone que están "calificados" para cuidar perros, no se cuando les enseñaron que los perros aprenden si los jalas o si les gritas. We love CRAMP! This place has helped our rescue terrier mix, Elliott, so much with his socializing skills & exercise needs! My husband and I were out of the country last year, he had to board for 11 days. We were worried since it was our first time leaving him for so long by himself... but it couldn't have been better! It was so nice being able to see him in the cameras, well taken care of & playing with other pups and the staff. The staff are legitimately good people that love dogs - you can tell they do their best for them to be happy & healthy. Updating my review from almost 6 years ago. During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, I was remotely working from home so for maybe a year my dog Momo barely went to camp for daycare or boarding anymore, save for maybe once every other month for nails. I'm really proud of Paul and Chad, the owners, in what they've accomplished with this site. I remember hearing about this location opening and being excited since it was in a convenient location for me and going to their pre-grand opening event or whatever it was (when Momo was much younger and bouncier haha). Paul especially is very hands-on and surprisingly he and his staff really do remember customers and dogs. I've since moved and have my folks with me now, so I have less need for daycare and overnight boarding, but still utilize the daycare for grooming (nails, etc. as needed). And now I utilize their partnership with a company (I forget the name) that does their shots I think twice a month (though it's pricier for me than going to the open shot clinics at the vet, but it's a less hassle and the care they provide is worth the price difference for me). Overall, their customer service has always been top notch and they seem to always care about all the dogs there (I do end up watching on the webcam, probably way too much when I'm at work sometimes too haha). read more

My dog attended here from 2016-2022. All seemed fine with previous owners (2 males). Without notice, ownership changed to someone else. I had no idea until one day when I arrived to pick her up. Then I was getting regular complaints from the staff that my dog was misbehaving (she was 6 at the time) and guarding the gate each time dogs entered. Each time I picked her up, I could tell they were bothered by her being there. One staff member said, "To be honest, she has always been this way." I was in shock because no one had ever mentioned this before this owner took over. I was so confused. It was sad for her, but I stopped sending her in. Her skin allergies have improved now due to not being around all those other dogs (it's pretty packed there), not having to have so many required immunizations and not having to walk on the hot turf. Only the first day and super impressed with Camp Run a Mutt!!! I took my furbaby Lulu here for the first time and I am already incredibly impressed! The staff on the phone have been very helpful and friendly getting me set up with her vaccines and temperament testing. My dog was a hot mess when we first walked up (she thought we were going to the vet) but the lady was super patient and understanding. I brought my almost 2 year old pug here because I felt like he lacked basic social skills. He was raised with a maltese in the household, however he is 13 and was never really social to begin with. I wanted to expose my dog to a friendly and positive environment where he could develop more confidence with dogs as well as other people. After 5+ days of attending daycare, I see a big difference on how he interacts with both dogs and humans while were out in public places. Also, there are times where we can not keep up with his high energy. Daily walks to the park is not enough to deter his desire to want to play constantly. When I take him here for half days, he comes home tired and we get a break from some of his destructive behaviors. The people that work here including the owners truly love what they do. Cannot say enough great things about C.R.A.M. Chula Vista. When my dog was 4 months old I discovered CRAM was opening in Chula Vista. My puppy had separation anxiety, she would chew my baseboards, wood trims, walls and doors. CRAM was a blessing! She stayed there daily while I was I work, when I picked her up she was a tired pup. The best part was I could watch her on the MuttCams and it made me so happy to see her running around or just relaxing but always had supervision. Definitely gave me peace of mind knowing she was taken care of, the owners Paul, Chad, and their team have all been so great. My pup is now 6 years old, and though she doesn't go to CRAM daily anymore she still gets excited when we pull up to camp. She's also been getting her nails trimmed there since she was a puppy and we also use their boarding services. Later in the week just prior to my travel I called to get him in. Asked to squeeze my dog in to give 5 days of business and was told no. My first time at Camp Run a Mutt was in December 2014. The facility had just recently opened. I'm the organizer of the San Diego Meetup group and asked if we could host a private party there. The answer was yes so 30 or so huskies got to play and hang out together for the day. Since all but one of my doggies came from shelters, I love the idea of cage free boarding. I've always loved to travel, and my family are all back east, but I always hated leaving my dogs at boarding facilities because most of them reminded me of the shelter so I never could relax and enjoy traveling. So I was very happy when the camp opened up and was five minutes away from me. Of course by that time, I could really afford to do much traveling or use the facility for doggie day care. Then my dogs got older and just preferred being in more familiar settings. Last year my oldest dog passed away and my other dog went through a depression. The beginning of this year I decided to get a new dog. I decided on getting another senior. Due to covid, I wasn't allowed to go into the shelter. Long story short, I ended up with TWO new dogs...one puppy and one teenager. Both with issues. The puppy lacked socialization and had severe separation anxiety. The teen had resource guarding and was extremely reactive towards other dogs. She also had a lot of bad doggie manners and needed work when it came to socialization. After a lot of training, I started taking the dogs to the dog park but found dog park outings where sometimes counter productive as they triggered my teen's bad behaviors. So I took the new dogs into camp and crossed my fingers we had done enough training to pass temperment testing. They did!!! And it's truly been a God send that I have been able to regularly take them in for daycare. Last weekend was July 4th weekend. I had to work July 4th. Fireworks are set off where I live. I didn't want them to go through the experience alone so I decided to board them for the night. Since they were use to going for daycare they were completely happy to be there. I love that I could watch them via the muttcams. Granted it was only for one night, but it was one of the first times I boarded my pups and felt comfortable doing so. Camp Run a Mutt Chula Vista has become a home away from home for dogs. I feel like the staff truly care for the well being of my dogs. The Camp has been an integral part of my dogs being well balanced, well behaved, happy dogs, which of course make me very happy! read more

We have two dogs that adopted us. We take being their guardians seriously. Leaving them with someone else is difficult, but sometimes it is necessary. The owners and workers at Chula Vista Camp Run a Mutt are very knowledgeable, helpful, firm but kind and hard working. Watching the Mutt Cam verifies this. You know your dog is in good hands, when in the middle of all of the excited, active dogs, there are other dogs sound asleep on pallets or curled up on the floor.
