I wish I could give this place 10+ stars! Camp Run-A-Mutt-Chula Vista is the best! We have a 3 year old GSD who is a little shy and nervous. We had spent so much money and time trying different trainers and "socialization Experts". We even sent him to a super expensive "fancy" training program only for them to give up on him on the third day. There is nothing wrong with our dog, he is a little shy and seemed to lack confidence after all these so called experts. I decided to try Camp Run-A-Mutt as a last hope of at least getting him socialized in a safe and fun setting. Let me tell you, I am so, so SO glad that I made an appointment to bring him in. We were greeted by Chad upon arrival, he greeted our shepherd like no other dog professional we encountered ever had. My shepherd warmed up to him super quick, within a few minutes my dog was walking around with Chad like he had known him for a long time! Chad then took him in the dog area and slowly introduced other dogs to him, within 10 min my baby was having such a good time running around with all the other dogs and the staff in the yard! All while I sat there watching on their dog cams! Yes they have dog cams where you can watch your babies play while they're at camp. My GSD loves going to camp! He loves everyone there! We also started getting him groomed here and they are so patient with my big baby!! They do an amazing job! Chad and Paul are really amazing, I can't thank them enough! Oh and might I add that prices are pretty reasonable, they also offer a military discount. Whether you're looking for a safe, clean place for your puppers to play for a few hours, or a whole day while you're at work. They love my Miki so much here. The staff is always so cheerful and courteous. I like that the staff comes out to your car for pickoff and drop off right away. What I love most is that this place does not smell. The other dog daycare place I used had an over powering scent of lemon disinfectant. I had to wash Miki of it when we got home. My dog attended here from 2016-2022. All seemed fine with previous owners (2 males). Without notice, ownership changed to someone else. I had no idea until one day when I arrived to pick her up. Then I was getting regular complaints from the staff that my dog was misbehaving (she was 6 at the time) and guarding the gate each time dogs entered. Each time I picked her up, I could tell they were bothered by her being there. One staff member said, "To be honest, she has always been this way." I was in shock because no one had ever mentioned this before this owner took over. I was so confused. It was sad for her, but I stopped sending her in. Her skin allergies have improved now due to not being around all those other dogs (it's pretty packed there), not having to have so many required immunizations and not having to walk on the hot turf. We love CRAMP! This place has helped our rescue terrier mix, Elliott, so much with his socializing skills & exercise needs! My husband and I were out of the country last year, he had to board for 11 days. We were worried since it was our first time leaving him for so long by himself... but it couldn't have been better! It was so nice being able to see him in the cameras, well taken care of & playing with other pups and the staff. The staff are legitimately good people that love dogs - you can tell they do their best for them to be happy & healthy. They even did a free photography session for Halloween, we just had to take his costume :) It was so cute! Updating my review from almost 6 years ago. During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, I was remotely working from home so for maybe a year my dog Momo barely went to camp for daycare or boarding anymore, save for maybe once every other month for nails. I'm really proud of Paul and Chad, the owners, in what they've accomplished with this site. I remember hearing about this location opening and being excited since it was in a convenient location for me and going to their pre-grand opening event or whatever it was (when Momo was much younger and bouncier haha). Paul especially is very hands-on and surprisingly he and his staff really do remember customers and dogs. I've since moved and have my folks with me now, so I have less need for daycare and overnight boarding, but still utilize the daycare for grooming (nails, etc. as needed). And now I utilize their partnership with a company (I forget the name) that does their shots I think twice a month (though it's pricier for me than going to the open shot clinics at the vet, but it's a less hassle and the care they provide is worth the price difference for me). Overall, their customer service has always been top notch and they seem to always care about all the dogs there (I do end up watching on the webcam, probably way too much when I'm at work sometimes too haha). read more

Only the first day and super impressed with Camp Run a Mutt!!! I took my furbaby Lulu here for the first time and I am already incredibly impressed! The staff on the phone have been very helpful and friendly getting me set up with her vaccines and temperament testing. I was floored by how incredible the sweet lady who helped us with the temperament test was! My dog was a hot mess when we first walked up (she thought we were going to the vet) but the lady was super patient and understanding. She walked me through exactly what would happen and set my phone up with the cameras so I could check on Lulu. After she took Lulu back for the testing she calmed down a lot and got to stay for the day to try it out! I checked on her throughout the day on the camera and the staff was always present and watering the turf, refreshing the water bowls, playing with the dogs, and cleaning up! The pick up was very easy the staff already knew her and she got sent home with the cutest report card! I have only ever heard amazing things about Camp Run a Mutt and now I understand why! Took my 3 month old, high energy, hyper pup here for the first time for a temperament test for future boarding and he had a blast! He has met other dogs and a cat but this was his first real outing socializing with other dogs for an extended period of time. He came home happy as a lark and tired as can be. I noticed a huge difference in behavior. Additionally, I witnessed something really unique while I was there. A pup who was in his last days came in to say goodbye to the staff and it was amazing to see how much they were affected by saying goodbye to their friend. Cannot say enough great things about C.R.A.M. Chula Vista. When my dog was 4 months old I discovered CRAM was opening in Chula Vista. My puppy had separation anxiety, she would chew my baseboards, wood trims, walls and doors. CRAM was a blessing! She stayed there daily while I was I work, when I picked her up she was a tired pup. The best part was I could watch her on the MuttCams and it made me so happy to see her running around or just relaxing but always had supervision. Definitely gave me peace of mind knowing she was taken care of, the owners Paul, Chad, and their team have all been so great. My pup is now 6 years old, and though she doesn't go to CRAM daily anymore she still gets excited when we pull up to camp. She's also been getting her nails trimmed there since she was a puppy and we also use their boarding services. We also use their boarding services, they have a sofa, a tv, lots of dog beds and there's always a human there with them. Like I said CRAM gives us peace of mind. read more

My first time at Camp Run a Mutt was in December 2014. The facility had just recently opened. I'm the organizer of the San Diego Meetup group and asked if we could host a private party there. The answer was yes so 30 or so huskies got to play and hang out together for the day. Since all but one of my doggies came from shelters, I love the idea of cage free boarding. I've always loved to travel, and my family are all back east, but I always hated leaving my dogs at boarding facilities because most of them reminded me of the shelter so I never could relax and enjoy traveling. So I was very happy when the camp opened up and was five minutes away from me. Of course by that time, I could really afford to do much traveling or use the facility for doggie day care. Then my dogs got older and just preferred being in more familiar settings. Last year my oldest dog passed away and my other dog went through a depression. The beginning of this year I decided to get a new dog. I decided on getting another senior. Due to covid, I wasn't allowed to go into the shelter. Long story short, I ended up with TWO new dogs...one puppy and one teenager. Both with issues. The puppy lacked socialization and had severe separation anxiety. The teen had resource guarding and was extremely reactive towards other dogs. She also had a lot of bad doggie manners and needed work when it came to socialization. After a lot of training, I started taking the dogs to the dog park but found dog park outings where sometimes counter productive as they triggered my teen's bad behaviors. So I took the new dogs into camp and crossed my fingers we had done enough training to pass temperment testing. They did!!! And it's truly been a God send that I have been able to regularly take them in for daycare. Last weekend was July 4th weekend. I had to work July 4th. Fireworks are set off where I live. I didn't want them to go through the experience alone so I decided to board them for the night. Since they were use to going for daycare they were completely happy to be there. I love that I could watch them via the muttcams. Granted it was only for one night, but it was one of the first times I boarded my pups and felt comfortable doing so. Camp Run a Mutt Chula Vista has become a home away from home for dogs. I feel like the staff truly care for the well being of my dogs. The Camp has been an integral part of my dogs being well balanced, well behaved, happy dogs, which of course make me very happy! read more
