My wife and I have been taking our dogs to Camp Run-A-Mutt (Chula Vista location) for about the last year and half. We love their service-- we've used their daycare, multi-day boarding, and grooming services. I like the concept of a cage free envronment too. Plus they have several mutt cams around each of the playgrounds so you can check on your dog via website access. The CRAM staff are awesome, courteous and they certainly love all the dogs in their care, and of course ours too. Camp Run-A-Mutt - Chula Vista is the BEST doggie daycare and the place you want to leave your dog for overnight stays. Our dog Brick loves them and can't wait to jump out of the car and immediately run in to greet everyone. He is so happy while he is there and loves to play with the other dogs and the staff. My dog and I LOVE this place! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They take care of my dog like their own. Most times when I pick my dog up, the owner comes out to update me on my dog's day and if anything eventful happened. I Love this place! So our Milo the pomeranian we adopted from the rescue is scared other people. He normally barkes at ppl and even tries to snip! But somehow when he goes here he LOVES all of the staff. He doesn't bark while he is here and I even see him on mutt cam go to staff for petting. I told my husband I don't know what it is about this place, but it is magical. Milo seems enjoying socialize with other dogs and staff. My 3 year old Husky has been going here since she was a puppy. She is happy when she arrives and happy to see me when I return. The staff is always helpful and attentive to my Huskys needs. Camp Run-A-Mutt in Chula Vista takes such great care of my 3 terrors (Mini Aussie, Shepherd Mix, and Rottweiler Mix). My pups come home after a day of playing with other furbabies and getting attention from staff that they knock out cold after dinner time. They get so excited when I pull up to the parking lot. They know it's time to go nuts and have fun. Paul (co-owner) has been very helpful in offering advice and words of wisdom when it comes to caring for my Rottie Mix who suffers from skin problems. We first took Twizzel to CRaM for a temperament test knowing we'll need to board her in June but more importantly we wanted a safe place for her to socialize and become comfortable with other dogs and people. She is very skittish after being in a shelter since she was 10 weeks old. We adopted her when she was 3 mos old and have had a great time helping her gain confidence in new situations. Camp Run a Mutt is an integral part of our plan. She will continue spending play time with her new friends and at some point she'll also be groomed there. We've taken our dogs to camp run a mutt in El Cajon and Kearny Mesa with no problem. We moved to Chula Vista and wanted to move our dogs to this camp to be closer. It felt like our our pups were being judged as soon as we walked in. It's a new environment & brought them first thing in the morning so they had a ton of energy & were vocal. During the test both of them do what they normally do which is just run around & bark - not being aggressive. They "failed" their temperament test because our one of dogs would bark whenever a new dog came in & they said our other pup "overgreeted" other dogs. To each their own but the facade of being "dog psychologists" was disappointing to say the least. Just booked them to board elsewhere that's a little further away from home but honestly it's probably for the best - no good vibes from this location. read more

For day camp and boarding, the dogs always had a great time. You can also watch your dogs on the pup cams they have on their website which is cool. They really form connections with your dog and treat them like their own pups at home. When our older dog recently passed away, the camp staff sent us a letter of sympathy signed by a ton of staff members sharing their kind words and stories with my Baxter Boy. Once again, Theo had a wonderful time! Today he was there from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and he was well taken care of. From watching the Muttcam, he was playing with the other pups and running around. :) The staff were also very attentive to the pups, playing with them and cooling them off with tons of water! It's too bad we are all the way in the LA area or else Theo would be here all the time! We would never leave Theo with anyone else. From the report cards we get every time we drop Thor off, to being able to see him on their cameras when we miss him, and especially the fact that they take every opportunity to teach us how to best train with him. We love that they are kennel-free boarding because Thor loves cuddles and sleeps best when he is surrounded by buddies. They are also reasonably priced and always have room for us. Camp Run-A-Mutt Chula Vista is awesome! Genevieve loves going to play with all of the pups and jumping in the little pool. Every time we are on our way there she gets so excited. All of the staff is very friendly and attentive. I love that I can watch Genevieve on the video cams and see what she's up to when she is at Camp. I sometimes have to travel out of town for the day so it's comforting knowing that she's in good hands but also having lots of fun! Plus, their hours work perfect for me because I'm able to drop her off early at 6am and pick her up at 7pm on these long work commute days. She always comes home happy and tired! All the employees here are very friendly and you can tell they care alot about your dog! My dog has stayed for overnights as well as for day care and she has been well cared for! I appreciate the cameras they have so that you can check on your dog while you are away. I also get my dog's nails cut here as they are able to do so without issue (our vet restrained her and charged me a "difficult fee" :( ) but my dog never has had an issue since getting her nails clipped here. During his temperament test, the staff showed me effective introductions and training tips - I felt like I got an on the spot one on one dog training session! i absolutely love the ability to check in on my dog whenever I want using their Muttcams! Suggestion to put a bright colored collar on your dog if they have a dark coat, this will make them easier to spot! I've seen my dog on camera playing with others and getting pets from the staff! Great place ive boarded my German Shepherd Maya here twice. The staff was extremely caring towards her and the customer service was excellent. the main selling point for me was that the staff stays overnight with the dogs and its a cage/kennel free environment . the dogs have plenty of room to run play and sleep together. also you can view your dogs on the business multiple video cameras from your phone i would give them more stars if possible read more
