I arrived here fairly early, and I was greeted warmly by the front counter person. He already had my name, welcomed me, and offered me towels. He gave me a short rundown of the amenities, and then set me off to exercise. It was not too busy this morning, everybody was quite friendly. It seems this is not open to the public. It did have a exclusive feel about it. Everything was really clean. And they had a full variety of exercise equipment as well as a nice outdoor pool. I jumped in the pool, even though it's freezing outside, the pool was around 80°. Sun was shining. It was definitely exhilarating to be out in the open, swimming in a heated pool, with all of the snow still surrounding the recreation center. After the swim, I jumped in the hot tub and there were a few people in the hot tub. Good conversation. It was really an enjoyable visit. I would absolutely come back here

Since the day I walked into camp Marin Sierra I felt like I was unwelcome. Immediately the camp…read morestaff questioned our every move which then lead to the good old BLAME GAME. Not only was the staff rude to us, but with no reason at all we were accused of vandalism and theft. but don't stop there during the night our camp was stalked by the staff to ensure we weren't sneaking out. Then the waterfront staff had the audacity to bully our scouts into thinking our every move was wrong in others eyes. Our stay began to get worse with the staff beginning to get more comfortable with what they said. Some of our scouts trying to stick up to the unjust actions of the staff were rudely reprimanded. This then lead to our scout masters getting involved for the well beings of our scouts. This must have been taken differently by the director Tim a.k.a the dictator. We were then kicked out of the camp we paid for half way through the week and after all of this on our way out some of the staff high fived and celebrated. If I were another person searching for a summer camp I would go far away from this one. The only ones that made us feel welcome were the trail to eagle leaders and e prep thank you for reading this post I hope it opened your eyes to what this camp truly is.

There's a bizarre amount of emotions that come with doing these courses, mostly thanks to the instructors who keep the scenarios very realistic, and I absolutely felt safe and heard the entire time. Brad, whom I did my first course with, was wonderful. I hadn't planned on having such a difficult time with the stress of these scenarios- he was receptive and supportive and offered a lot of different options to help me be successful. I wound up surprising myself! Tim, whom I recerted with, started the course intros asking each of us what we wanted to get out of the 3 days. He managed to include everyone's suggestions and mad eth experience very meaningful. Would very much recommend Sierra Rescue!

Our class was made up of paid and volunteer firefighters so he tailored the class to our needs. The course layout was a step by step progression of learned skills, each building on the previous.
