At first I was skeptical on joining because well to be honest I was embarrassed and thought people were going to laugh at me or I wasn't going to know what to do (one of the reasons i hate the gym). How things have changed I absolutely LOVE LOVE going to campxcel, they have absolutely changed my life. They made me feel so welcomed, they modified some exercises based on my injuries, they know me by name, they follow up when I don't show up, I mean I'm part of a family not just a gym/bootcamp. Speaking of family the owner of campxcel found out I had a loss in my family and arranged a fundraiser out of the kindness of her heart to help out my family. I am forever grateful. Joining was the best decision I have ever made.

I stumbled on Camp Xcel back in October. I was wanting to try a camp style workout plan starting off with a challenge. I completed my challenge and decided to continue using them to help mold me into my fitness goals. Staff is excellent trainers are amazing down to earth very welcoming easy to talk to if you have certain goals they can help create specific workouts to target any body part or area. Coach Danny has giving me so much insight and information. Many gyms claim to have a family vibe but it's definitely the standard here. Friendly people, overall good vibe. I don't know how many times I've had personal conversations with the trainers Ms. Vanesa E, coach Maria this morning. I came in at a basic level and have stayed consistent and can keep up all the way through the program. So don't worry about your level of fitness you work out at. Work at your own pace but they definitely push and motivate you. So if you need a place to destress physically mentally and emotionally get a week trial maybe it can be your happy place like it is mine .

It's a hole in the wall, but this place was my happy place and honestly I am very grateful for CampXcel! This place is here to help motivate you and assist in reaching in all your fitness goals, and most importantly I met my amazing husband here and met so many great people and some who I can consider my closest and bestest friends. Camp is family and definitely recommend for everyone!

I've meant to write this review a week ago after the Five Week Challenge ended. I didn't loose any weight during this challenge but it wasn't because of the gym. What I gained was strength in my body, better form, confidence in my self and that's thanks to the coaches (Coach Héctor and Coach Jess) as well as Denise at the front desk. I've never felt more confident in a group setting , the coaches guide you and push you out of your comfort zone and you have fun while doing it. Coaches and the exercises push you beyond what you THINK you can do but are also mindful to modify any exercise to fit your ability. I ended up signing up as a member because I see changes in my body and spirit thanks to the coaches. The price is worth it, feels like a mini personal training session.

The thought of joining a gym intimated me. But when I joined CampXcel you were greeted with friendly faces. The coaches here are the best taking the time to help, and motivate you with reaching your goals wither losing weight and or building muscles. Since joining CampXcel I don't think I will attend any other gym.

Five-star gym! I joined this gym on Oct 15th 2019 to partake in their 5-week challenge. Exceeding my expectations, that 5-week challenge pushed me to my peak physical level. I really appreciate Hector, Eddie, and Maria as my trainers and them providing creative fun workouts with hilarious personality. Special thanks to the front desk staff for kind welcoming personalities and tracking my diet plan and weight weekly. After sticking with their recommendations and their continual motivation, I placed 2nd place in the 2020 Los Angeles FitExpo abs competition three months later. I attribute my fitness success mostly to Camp Xcel's commitment to providing excellent workout experience. Thanks again!

Quick shoutout to Diego, David, and Herbert for always being great! The space itself is really well put together and has a great vibe that actually makes you want to work out. The biggest thing for me is that it rarely feels overcrowded. Even during busier times, I've never had to wait long for a machine or a rack, which was a constant frustration at my old gym. I honestly wish I switched sooner. Completely worth it so far.

I've been a member for a year and a half and it was time for me to say goodbye. I think this gym…read morehas a ton of potential of being okay to great, but it starts with the owners (which I believe in them - and I'll get to that later. Given that I've been a member for quite some time, I've observed so many things about this gym: the good, the not so ok Let's start with the good: - Equipment: Definitely top notch equipment - Outdoor Area: I didn't like it at first, but once you start going every so often you just get this different energy (plus we need more Vitamin D!) - Innovative: This gym is growing; I remember when it was just two workout areas, now expanded to 5 total as well as a sauna (free), a barbershop, a soon to be coffee shop, and a recovery room (additional pay). Oh and pilates! The not so ok: - Turnover: There's been a high turnover of employees, and I think this is where it starts with the owners. Granted, the owners from what I'm noticing are learning and they're only going to get better. But I feel like there's been a high turnover in the last year and a half so that says something. - Lack of Communication from Higher Ups: Again, every time I would speak to a worker, they know nothing about what's happening to the gym. As if, the gym is kept top secret. I just feel like there's a disconnect there, and should have more transparency with the owners and to the employees. - The vibe is preference. Some may like it some may not. I liked it at first, but recently it's starting to give me that 24 hour fitness vibe or EOS (used to be golds in Cerritos) vibe with "influencers" shirtless left and right filming. Filming is OK at this gym so they're setting the standard for that. But, I guess it just makes it awkward for someone like myself if I'm in someones film unintentionally. It's like I need to cater my workout so they can get the best footage. - I think for the price now ($179) they should serve towels, probably do better on maintenance like their drinking fountain, and heck even offer free pilates. If you think about it, club studio and other gyms are in this price range and all the classes are free. So maybe there's something to explore there I'm unsure. But if we're looking at the competitive landscape, at $179, there has to be some form of distinguisher, and top notch equipment can't just be it. Also, going back to employees. David here has been the longest one and I feel like this guy should have some form of ownership, or promotion. This was the only guy in my 1 and half years of being here that went above and beyond at the front desk. I remember he was genuinely concerned about my overall being (had surgery), and gave me options (freezing my account) before even closing it. Every other front desk is just "hi" "bye" "I don't know." But this guy really cares about the customers at the gym. And to the owners, you guys are trying I see that. And I can definitely see you guys improving and making adjustments. Just recently, you closed all membership, and that's because you want to make some changes for the better. I really do hope this gym continues to get better. But for me, the chapter has ended! Thanks All One!

That's completely false. There are several restrooms and I've never had to wait. The overall aesthetic of this place is top tier. The equipment is high quality, well maintained, and there's plenty of space to train. The gym is split into two sides and now they even have MAD Pilates, which is a great addition. So far, I haven't had to wait for equipment once. Even when it's busy, I've still been able to get a full workout in without issues. That's a huge difference compared to the gym up the street (Chuze), where you'll often see groups of people camping on the same machine. On weekends I come right when the doors open and it's about as empty as it gets. Perfect way to start the day. One warning though: don't try the peanut butter and jelly shake... unless you want to get hooked. It's that good. The turkey wrap is also a solid option. The staff has been amazing and welcoming since day one. Overall experience so far: 10/10. Highly recommended

The heater being on full blast in the mornings makes it really uncomfortable to work out. The fans are not on, so there's no relief when the heat is running. I mean really how cold can it get in SoCal where the heater needs to be on full blast Also, it would really help if staff wore something identifiable, like a uniform shirt. There have been a few times I wanted to purchase a protein shake, but I couldn't tell who worked there or who to ask for help. Lastly, there have been times when there were no wipes available to clean the machines. Overall, still a great gym, just a few small improvements that would make a big difference!
