This Norwalk location is the flagship gym, and the first to open of the three locations. I've worked out at all locations, and they are great. All of the trainers are fantastic humans! They have the best energy, play great music, and train us very well. I seriously haven't met a trainer I didn't like. Actually, I take that back. When I first started, there was a crazy trainer, but he didn't last and I never saw him again. That's one the best things about SUF, they'll get rid of bad energy and focus on the good. I've joined every weight loss program, gym, boot camp, out there... you name it, I've tried it. None have ever compared to the quality of SUF. I've never been so successful at losing weight, gaining muscle, losing inches, losing fat, in my life! In one year of consistent workouts and counting calories and macros, I've lost over 40 lbs and kept it off. I've dropped 8 dress sizes and it keeps dropping! The difference with SUF and any other program I've done, is that the people care. Not just the employees, but the like-minded friends I've made. Everyone is there, cheering you on, when you think you can't possibly lift any heavier, squat any lower, they're all there, cheering you on. It's amazing! If you join the Elite program, you get access to a nutritionist, or food police, as we call her, who helps you figure out what to eat and what not to eat. The gym also offers a food prep service and it's also amazing! I used it my first 3 months there, until I got the hang of it and was able to prep on my own. At the end of the day, YOU, are accountable for your own being, and YOU, have to want it, in order to stay focused and determined. They offer $1 gym towels in case you forget to bring one and have free basketballs to use in exchange for your gym ID. This is where my first complaint comes in though; their customer service area is pretty much non-existant. I've stood in plain sight waiting to be tended to and have had to wait 5-10 minutes, even when the employees are up front doing next to nothing (scanning IDs). My second complaint doesn't have to do with complex, but the members who utilize the gym. There is always groups of women who take up cardio machines for longer than 25 machines yapping on and on (rules state only 20 minutes per session). And the minute they do get off, they hand the machines to their other friends. It becomes very frustrating at times and has me considering joining a private gym. I suppose it's faults come with the $36.50 for 3 months price tag. It's been a great experience, but I'm afraid it's starting to sour on me with how small the gym is and people continually joining.

They're friendly, helpful, and are a big part of why I continue coming back. I've even recommended this facility to several friends and family members because, overall, it's a great place to bring kids and spend the day. Unfortunately, one employee continues to ruin what should be an enjoyable experience every time I visit. No matter how polite I am, she approaches me or others with an attitude, speaks in a disrespectful tone, and seems more interested in arguing than helping guests. If you're the first person greeting people as they walk in, customer service should be a priority. A smile and respectful communication go a long way. The most frustrating part is that I know the facility's dress code. I even bring extra swim shorts for children who come with me in case their parents forget proper swim attire. During my most recent visit, she insisted my swim shorts were gym shorts, even after I repeatedly explained they were purchased from the swimwear section specifically for this pool. On my very first visit, I had already spoken with the manager about these exact shorts, and he came to the understanding they were swimwear. I purposely buy longer swim shorts because I prefer more coverage around children at a public pool--not because I'm trying to break the rules. And they sell thousands of types of swimwear just because I don't buy a cheap skimpy bottom and have my buttcheeks out don't make my swim shorts NOT swim shorts . Why would they be in the swim section if they weren't? they wouldn't be . I have a few gym shorts that look like swim shorts but I don't wear those because they're NOT swim shorts and they weren't purchased from the swim section What made the situation even more frustrating was watching several other guests wearing cotton shorts walk right in without anyone saying a word, while I was the one being questioned despite wearing actual swimwear. I've also seen children in the pool wearing cotton T-shirts that are clearly not intended for swimming, but I keep my mouth shut because it's not my place to police other guests. If I wanted to nitpick and point out every rule violation I saw, I easily could--but I don't. That's why it was so frustrating to feel like I was being singled out over something that had already been addressed with management. If the rules are going to be enforced, they should be enforced fairly and consistently for everyone--not selectively. This also wasn't my first negative interaction with this employee. During a previous visit, she took my young niece out of the pool and started walking toward the front entrance with her without ever informing me what was happening. I was right there, calling out to her, but instead of stopping to explain what she was doing, she kept walking. Only after I got her attention did she finally turn around and tell me she was taking my niece to have her height checked again. As the adult responsible for my niece, I found that extremely upsetting. A child should never be taken away from the pool area without first communicating with the adult supervising them. I immediately spoke with the manager because I didn't think that was appropriate. He tried to make the situation right by asking her to apologize/ explain, but before she even came over,( I observe everything face expressions to body language to what even was said to see if I'm taken seriously ) I overheard her laughing and giggling as if the entire situation was a joke. She acted like she couldn't believe she even had to apologize. When she finally did, it didn't feel sincere at all. Ever since that day, every interaction I've had with her has been just as unprofessional. To make matters worse, after my most recent interaction, I asked the manager for the employee's name so I could address my complaint appropriately. He refused to provide it, which was disappointing. It made me feel like management was more interested in protecting the employee than addressing a legitimate concern from a guest. Because of that, I have no choice but to leave my feedback about the facility as a whole instead of the individual responsible. I've only been coming here for about a month, but in that short amount of time I've brought several friends and family members because I genuinely thought this was a wonderful place. The facility itself is great, and the majority of the staff are fantastic. That's exactly why this experience has been so disappointing. One employee's repeated attitude, lack of professionalism, and inconsistent treatment of guests shouldn't outweigh all the positive things this facility has to offer. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously. Better training, accountability, and professionalism would go a long way. Guests deserve to be treated with respect, and rules should be applied fairly and consistently to everyone.

THIS GYM IS GREAT - THE REVIEW IS ABOUT MATT DIAZ - HE IS A THIEF - HE MUST BE ON DRUGS - ONE DAY NICE - ANOTHER DAY OFF THE CHARTS RUDE AND UTTERLY DISRESPECTFUL. He tries to offer deals, he forgets how much $ you have paid him, and, how many sessions you have left on your "plan" because he seems to have recurring cash crisis events and is panic dialing/texting people offering "deals" to plug the cash hole in his budget, then, forgets what deals he cut, and, at what terms. When he is feeling good, he struts in the gym, "training" a handful of "clients" (mostly young women) all at the same time, while playing with, or, talking on his phone. He seems to treat some of the women as if he is sleeping with them, and, makes gestures toward them and talks to them in a way that can be VERY DISRESPECTFUL. There are rumors in the gym that he is sleeping with some of his clients, or, tries to do so. He has many complaints about him, just being a former client of his, and, choosing to stay at the gym and workout by myself, you hear all these terrible things - including stories of husband's/boyfriend's of his female clients coming into the gym to "beat him up" and others at the gym breaking up the fights. Not sure, never saw this, but, his behavior in front of me seems to support this kind of thing probably happening. If you want to do illegal drugs and aggressive supplements for body building competition he could be your guy, if not for the above, AND, the fact that many of the competition promoters seem to have been alienated by him (as many people at the gym and at other gyms have told me). There seems to be a loose group of "former clients" that all seem to compare notes about Matt, and, everyone of these people are surprised he still works at the gym, and, that the gym has not been sued (a terrible event because we all like it so much). Matt is the only negative thing about the gym, and, he must have a criminal record, or, should given all the things he does. Other trainers have told me that a large % of their clients have been former clients of Matt's that he has alienated. read more

Loved this place till i was finally fed up with the lack of professionalism that goes on here. Art & J.R. are real cool guys much respect towards them both but when it comes to Sam its a whole different story. This guy is a classless unprofessional person tries to take out personal frustrations on other people provoking many. He doesn't appreciate his members tries to throw his weight around the other day he took a young man outside and was screaming at him making a big scene in the parking lot and the young man was obviously the better person because he did not try to cater to sam and left on his own. Then the equipment is very old equipment the rusty machines that never get lubbercated, the rubber falling off the dumbells, no air conditioning, cables falling apart, EVERY PERSONAL TRAINER (MATT, NOE, RUBEN just few to mention) HERE thinks its funny and cool to SMOKE & GET HIGH in the parking lot (most are skronny kids with possibly false credentials), the dry old blood stains in the restrooms upstairs, people making RACIST, SEXIST, & PREJUDICE JOKES, people injecting illegal substances upstairs, narcotics drop-offs & pick-ups, fire department working out for free which is why they don't regulate fire hazards, underage children cleaning at night (violation of child labor laws), dirty restrooms dirty equipment, too many wires exposed. The list can go on and on. Best advice to everyone reading this is, to stay away from this place, Sam does not appreciate business i hope someday he finds common sense because he has none, he is disrespectful and thinks its the right thing to do. Fit Nation is a joke just like everyone that works there. It's trashy. Someone lit the couch and tanning bed that was left outside in the parking lot on fire. Most of the equipment there is broken and never ever clean. They have the same ghetto music playing so load and the old hag Suli Pena that works behind the counter is a total bitch. All the idiots that work there are on drugs and screw all their clients. It's for swingers. There is so much corruption going on in there that is ridiculous. These people shouldn't be in business. They all need rehab. They don't own anything, just rent. I don't know how they got an extension to relocate in January. They all need to wake up and face the facts that everyone knows about their scandalous affairs, drugs, money laundering, drug dealing, and more. I would never in my life go to Fit Nation Gym again in my life. It's disgusting. Oh and they rip people off on their fake protein powder there. It's a joke. Worst gym in the world. read more

I've been working out with Matt Diaz for a little less than a year now and the progress I've made has been amazing. Before I started working out with him I was in a personal funk and had lost my self confidence. He helped me get back that confidence and into great shape. He always pushes me and motivates me to keep going. Now I'm even training for a bikini competition with him. If you would of told me this a year ago, I would of never thought it was possible! matt diaz is a thief - he has a drug problem - he is a liar - fake tough guy - is rude - tries to get $ up front - cancels lessons - when he does lessons he pays varying degrees of attention to people at various times - he promises delivery of things like diet and workout plans that happen or do not happen based on what day it is - i think he either has a drug problem and/or is bi-polar - some people at the gym have told us he has in physical fights with clients/male partners of clients over the years and he is rude to female clients, and, tries to sleep with female clients read more

A year ago I walked into Fit Nation and I've been a member since. This gym is not like any other gyms I've been to and feels like a second home. My amazing trainer Raquel got me through those doors and helped me start my fitness journey. In 3 months of training with Raquel, I lost about 15 pounds. Training with Raquel made me look forward to working out and it became more of a hobby than a chore. Thanks to Raquel, I was able to gain confidence and a healthier lifestyle. Great Gym to bad the owners turn their back on the trainers they have there... Stay away from Matt Diaz (mdiazfitness) (King of fitness) hahaha what a joke. His instagram portrays him to be a great trainer but he only cares about himself and your money. He's great in the beginning and that is how he gets the good yelp reviews, but if you have nothing to offer him he's rude, arrogant, and juiced out and he has a GREAT reputation of sleeping with his clients. If you're a white dude and not juiced out of your mind....come to this place to feel as un welcomed as you've ever felt in your life. Lots of super buff, roided up, self entitled jerks lift here. This is my first gym membership and all I have to say are positive things!! Great workout vibe and clean machines and gym. The price for month to month is a great value. Parking lot is a bit small but enough parking on the street. The owners are all nice and answer any questions you might have. I only get the best of the best! I was referred to Coach Matt Diaz as professional, passionate and knowledgable bikini prep coach @Fit Nation gym. I called him and immediately felt welcomed and made the 2 hour drive to train. I wouldn't go anywhere else ..I get up at 3 am to drive 2 hours and is well worth it! Love this place! There's so many different machines to choose from, even if it's busy you'll find something to do. The restrooms are coed and are always clean. Everyone seems to take care of everything. The staff is beyond nice. This has become my 2nd home. I really enjoy coming here. The music is always in point! read more

So I tried out Fit Nation today for a day pass which was 5$. Great deal compared too LA fitness or 24 hour fitness which is 15$ a day. I seriously loved the atmosphere of the gym, the machines and the music which is a key to a great workout. Overall 10/10 I love it! For sure gonna be training insane there!! read more
