3.5 Star Marjane…read moreCafe is more than a Moroccan cafe. Aside from food and drinks, it also a Moroccan home deco and furniture store. There is no official opening hours for Marjane Cafe... no where in the front of the stores or online. The sole owner, cashier, food server just opens whenever there are customers?! But on weekend he keeps the cafe opens till past midnight. Moroccan Mint Tea ($5) served in a large tea pot with just a taste of honey was quite good, wish there are more minty though! The little puppet like tea pot handle cover was just so too cute!! I couldn't stop playing with it! For food.. we just asked the owner to serve us whatever he recommended...so we ended up having: Chicken Lemon Tajine with Frittata ($12.95) My Yelp friend was served this chicken thigh..maybe he knows that he is a leg person and he was looking for belly dancer?? The potato frittata was a little too heavy for me... but he finished everything... I guess it was not Ok? But he finishes everything usually... Chicken Pastilla with Couscous Salad ($8.99) I love my Chicken Pastilla which is really savoury with taste of both sweetness and saltiness. I love the mixture of almond, pistachio and powder sugar! Couscous Salad with a nice cumin dressing was refreshing for a hot summer day! Marjane Cafe is also a Hookah Bar if you are into Shisha... I wish they have some day beds so I can enjoy a shisha/sipping mint tea while lounging around!

Now I know where to get inspiration if I ever needed Moroccan theme Decor. The Furniture, Tea Pots…read moreand Tagines are part of the environment(for sale too). It's a good thing there's no Moroccan Dessert Heat for sale here as we were already overcooked from the Toronto weather. It's almost like a Turnkey operation as the semi-Kitchen is pretty much right behind the counter similar in scale and equipment as a Starbucks. The Gentleman(+0.5 *star*) working there was absolutely great with HOSPITALITY as if you're a guest at his home rather than a customer. Chicken Lemon Tajine with Frittata ($12.95) Now understand, I don't have too much Tagine experience under my belt however I have had one that exceeded my imagination of the cuisine. That's probably why I felt underwhelmed by the non-Tagine'd Chicken Lemon Tajine. I was expecting sauciness and bread to soak. I believe the price is slightly high for what this dish offers. Chicken Pastilla with Couscous Salad ($8.99) Pastilla, Bastilla. Toemato, Tomaato. It's another one of those dishes I fell was unique and happy to discover somewhere else. This version was slightly smaller and would be nice if it was warmed slightly more. The Coucous Salad seemed overly sour from vinegar which depends on individual taste I guess, since Amy Pataki found it stand-out worthy.

We arrived pretty late, so we didn't have enough time to explore the menu the way we wanted, but…read morewhat we did order left a lasting impression. The smoked chicken skewers were outstanding--perfectly juicy with a subtle smokiness that enhanced the flavor well-seasoned, and cooked with care. I haven't even mentioned the colliflower which should be in a yelp review on its own. The pitas deserve just as much praise. Warm, pillowy, and slightly chewy with just the right amount of char, they were exceptional on their own and the perfect companion to the chicken. I'd love to know the recipe because they're easily some of the best pitas I've had. A special shoutout to our server, Daniel, who made our first--albeit brief--visit a memorable one. His friendly service and thoughtful recommendations elevated an already fantastic meal. This first visit was enough to convince me that I'll be back, and next time I'll be arriving hungry with plenty of time to explore the rest of the menu.

I had high expectations for Fat Pasha after hearing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately my…read morevisit was disappointing from start to finish. We ordered the banana pudding and the cauliflower dish, and both were major letdowns. The banana pudding had an odd flavor and texture that made it difficult to enjoy. It didn't taste fresh or creamy, and the overall dessert just wasn't appealing. The cauliflower was even more disappointing. It had a strong off taste that gave the impression it wasn't fresh, and the flavor was unpleasant enough that I couldn't finish it. Despite all the toppings and sauces, the dish just didn't come together and left a bad impression. The service was average--nothing particularly memorable, but nothing that made the experience better either. The ambiance also wasn't to my taste. The space felt loud and cramped, and I personally didn't find it to be a comfortable or enjoyable setting for a meal. Considering the restaurant's reputation and the prices, I expected a much better experience. While the presentation of the food looked nice, the taste simply didn't live up to it. Based on this visit, I don't see myself returning or recommending it.

One random day I…read morewas thinking about having this for lunch and it popped up on uber eats with a bogo (jackpot!). Decided to try the chicken shawarma bowl. Arrived nicely packaged. Will say that it was slightly disappointing seeing that there was barely any chicken. However it more than made up for it in flavors and all the other unique toppings. Was also surprisingly filling!

I walked into the store and it's pretty decent size, bright with a lot of large windows. There is seating at the side and windows. I regret not grabbing any pictures of this but I was taking my order to go. After scanning the menu pretty quickly, I saw I could grab a soup from here. I placed an order for a soup and decided to get some falafel as well. You have a choice of a few dipping sauces and I went with the harissa one. They told me it'd be a couple of minutes before it'd be ready. I stood by the windows to see what was happening on Yonge St but it was a pretty quiet night. They gave me a call out and I was off with my soup and falafel in no time. After getting back to my place, I popped the lids for my orders. The soup smelled great and the falafel looked alright. I started with the soup. It was nice and packed with a lot of flavour. It was also pretty light and what I was looking for. I took a bite of the falafel. I'm unsure how to feel about it as it felt really when chewing through it. I dipped it into the sauce and it still felt a little dry. I finished this during the hockey game and I'm glad it was close. Would grab the soup again and try other things on the menu but would skip the falafel as it wasn't my favourite thing even though the dipping sauce was nice.

Second, it's completely empty, whereas the first time I was there it was bustling. We placed a large order for takeout for a dinner party. We placed the order via their online ordering system. When I came to pick up the food, I was greeted with "what order?". It took them 5 minutes to finally bother looking up the online ordering system to find the order there. Then they said it would take 45 minutes to prepare. At the time that I have hungry dinner guests waiting at home. At which point, I opted to leave. But before I left, I tried to get my money back, and the attendant was useless. He told me that he cannot do it without the manager. He called the manager and I spoke to him, and he told me that he will issue the refund the following week. The following week, the refund was not issued.. surprise surprise.
