    chicken on rice
    Alex C.

Got the: - Chicken on dirty rice - Tawak ($18.00) - Falafel Wrap ($10.50) Pros: - Chicken is good, has a nice refreshing lemony taste to it. - Wrap is huge! And the texture of the wrap is great. Great deal. - Overall, food is great, ingredients are fresh and it's a relatively healthy meal. Cons: - A bit salty for my liking. - Rice can be a little oily.

Dined in early December, between lockdowns. It was my first time in the Canary District. There's street parking in front of the restaurant. We managed to grabbed the last free spot, that evening. A great restaurant featuring delectable Middle Eastern food. Safety protocols were readily in place: sanitizer at the door, dividers between tables, vaccine & ID checks for dine-in patrons. Great service, and really great food! The atmosphere is bright and lively. Casual dress, and mixed crowd here. Loved the Chef's Platter with all the amazing dips and fresh pita. The baked falafel was tasty with a tahini drizzle. We happily ordered enough to have leftovers for another meal. Can't wait until it's safe to return to dine in again!

Beet mutable with gluten free pita

We stopped in here late on a Sunday evening about an hour before closing. We weren't sure what to expect from this 'fast food cousin' of the other Tabule restaurants, but we had a great experience. We ordered the beet mutable (roasted beet dip, similar in consistency to 'regular mutable' which is made with eggplant, tahini, garlic and lemon) and the arnabeet (fried cauliflower with tahini sauce), with gluten free pita (!), and an order of the Lebanese pulled chicken rice dish (which is NOT gluten free). Everything was excellent. We were really happy with the diversity of the menu, the knowledgable staff who helped us navigate the menu for gluten free options, the authentic tastes of the dishes (we are big fans of Lebanese food in general), portion sizes (enough to take home half for another meal), and the quick service. I think from the time of ordering til our food was delivered we only waited 15 min. Couple notes - this location has ample indoor seating and a cute decor; ordering is at the counter - you get a number and they bring food out to you. They have a variety of beverages, and lots of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. There is also outside seating, but at night/ after dark you may be plagued with homeless walking on the sidewalk asking for money, cigarettes and food. Overall a great food experience, but next time we would eat inside if we arrive at the same hour. Definitely recommended!

had the beef shawarma with rice ($20) which was decent. salad 5/10 rice 8.5/10 beef 6/10. not huge portions

So glad to have this in the Corktown Commons neighborhood. Food is always top notch. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor (during the summer) seating options or if takeout is your fancy, the food really holds up well - Ive tried all 3 options. Shish tawuk is always a popular option but you literally cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Pro tip: sharing plates ! Must try all the items

Their saj pitas were so soft and chewy. They serve it fresh and warm and you can watch the guy stretch the pita over a pillow and heat it up. The Beirut pulled chicken was so tender and juicy. I personally loved their beet mutable. It's very light and it went well with the labni. The falafel was more on the dry side so dipping in the hummus helped. My friends ordered the food and it took some time to figure out what they wanted since it was our first time here. They told me the cashier was impatient and kept asking if they were ready to order. We were originally going to go to the Thai place next door, but there was a long wait so we went here. I'm glad we did!

Beef shawarma over rice & saj pita with za'atar

Fast-casual restaurant where you order at the cashier and they bring you the food when it's ready (if dining in). Super friendly staff who were great at answering our questions about the menu and checked on us occasionally during our meal. Food - Beef shawarma over rice (4.5/5) ($15.50) - Huge portions. Beef was pretty tender and juicy. Plenty of sauce over the meat. The side of slaw paired well with the dish. - Saj pita with za'atar (3/5) ($4.50) - The pita was made fresh to order and tasted really good, but the za'atar was too salty. Fixed it by just scraping some off the pita. Pretty worth it for the quantity and quality of the food. Overall great service and the food was good too - would come back to try other items on the menu!

One of my go to spots for quality middle eastern food! Flavors are delicious and dishes are unique - you'll find something for everyone here. I've tried quite a few dishes via takeout over the years, but have yet to visit the restaurant itself - and can't wait to finally do so. All their dips are delicious, especially the hummus and baba ganoush, and come with the perfectly soft saj bread. Their meat dishes are great, always tender and bursting with flavor and spices. Lastly, don't forget the extra tahini and garlic sauce - they go well with every bite. Overall, this is one of my favourite middle eastern spots which I highly recommend for any meal of the day.

    Large flavourful falafel.

Finally made my way here. My preference is to never judge a restaurant based on takeout alone but not sure when I can make it back so here it goes.... Overall, great spot but 4/5 is only due to the fact that it is not necessarily head and shoulders above many other excellent middle eastern spots in (for example) Scarborough. Solid choice though ! Falafel 5/5. Flavourful and spiced just right. I opted for fried because I'm a bad girl even though baked is an option. Also 5 very large pieces in each serving. Tahini was meh. Chefs platter 5/5. Loved the purple beets dish the best. I liked the sweetness. I think this is the best option because I'm vegetarian/ pescatarian and can try a lot of their sides at one time. Roti/ naan 5/5. Not dense at all and deliciously buttery! Because I did takeout I didn't get much interaction with the staff but they seemed really energetic (they have a big team at the restaurant) and the venue has that chic rustic vibe. It was quite busy there on a Thursday night. Prices are reasonable for the portion and freshness. They do not cheap out on portions. What I ordered early feeds two hungry people but you may want an extra roti as they are quite thin.

    Steak shawarma sandwich

My first time eating here! Oh my gosh, I got the steak shawarma sandwich, & I must say, it was packed with flavour and stuffed with loads of steak and veggies & whatever else they managed to fit in !! So delicious, the bread is a little different than your usual naan, this "naan" felt like it was made from scratch, & had a little soft dough ness to it, with a little crunch! Absolutely loved it! I will be back for sure to eat that same sandwich & whatever else you guys are whippin' up ! Thank you! Keep on making that good food ! ;)

Beet Mutable delissssh---sunny day clear skies! Patio life---living life in the Pandemic!!! RESILLIENCE
    Sonia A.

Best way to take the Pandemic pounds off is to pick a hidden Gem, with healthy, wholesome menu options, and walking the distance to devour one's craving! This Sunday on a beautifull Fall morning I did just that. Walked from Entertainment District, onto Financial District, passed the Designer District, and through Distillery district, I arrived at the Canary District...just so I can taste the most mouth watering, infused with olive oil, made from Beets, Tahini, with touches of lemon and garlic dish called - Beet Mutable. Gorgeous delicious filling for $6.95, I paired it with gluten free Warm Pita bread...and let myself flow into the flavors. As sun light kissed my face, and brisk fall wind went through my hair..I thought to myself there is no place I rather be then in this moment enjoying my Beet Mutable at Souk Tabule ;-))))

    Marie N.

If you've been to Tabule's two other locations in the city, you'll adore takeout from Souk Tabule. The chain's newest outpost in the Canary District offers the same healthy and flavourful Middle Eastern cuisine that you know and love. The hummus, baba ghanoush and beet mutable are the perfect pairings for pita, and the arnabeet (flash fried cauliflower drizzled with tahini) is incredibly satisfying. A variety of soups, salads, wraps and larger meals are also on the menu, and portions are generous! Some crowd pleasers include the falafel and tender shish tawuk.

Do be prepared for a bit of a wait. We came on a Monday at noon and still waited 30 minutes. Lentil Soup Probably the biggest surprise for me. The soup has the perfect texture: silky but substantial. It's well-spiced and reminds me of South Asian flavors (rasam, to be specific). The accompanying bread and pickles were just the cherry on top! Cairo Classic I had low expectations for this dish, since it seems to be 90% beans. But once again, I was shocked by how flavorful everything was. It came with a single falafel, which may be one of the best falafels I've ever had. If I came back, I'd opt for the falafel dish over this one. Maha's Mind-blowing Chicken The chicken really is mind-blowing. I found the form factor a bit confusing, it seems to be more for presentation than practicality. But the flavors are exceptional.

We were seated at the sidewalk patio. :) We had: # Whole Sea Bream with Israeli salad # Lamb Shish kabob with fries Complimentary pickles were immediately served. Good for a hot day - stimulating appetite. Sea Bream was generously big, crispy outside and super juicy inside! Simple yet perfect seasonings. Squeezing fresh lemon perfected the flavor. Israeli salad is a bit under-seasoned (for my liking), but nice aroma with plenty of herbs. Lamb Shish Kabob was also generous, a lot of large chunky meat cubes are cooked to perfect medium rare. Tender, juicy. Delicious. The accompanying fries are addictive. Crispy golden brown, perfect seasoning.
