Just coming back to re-review. While everyone else seems to be scaling back quality, we think Campanos is picking it up. We've enjoyed the filet mignon since the opening of the restaurant but we recently had a steak there that was a step above. So we went back the next week and got the same perfect preparation and quality. We used our butter knives to cut the steak. We asked for rare plus and twice it was perfect. They've started using a new seasoning/crust and it is amazing. But I must also report on the staff--even better than the steak. I have only eaten at Compano's two times since they opened. The first time there I got a deep-fried spare rib appetizer and zuppa di pesce for my entree. I could tell that the ingredients were of fresh / good quality, but the flavors were just not quite there... both dishes were just bland. We didn't go back for a while -- at these prices, I want to be WOWED, and my food was just ok. We were there recently for a banquet, and I had the Osso Bucco. While the meat was very tender and the portion generous, there was a little TOO much salt this time, and the pasta and veggies underneath were just not cooked properly. The sauce was too thin to cling to anything (just a broth) and the peppers were undercooked. The addition of the shaved cheese just added to the saltiness of the dish. I really WANT this restaurant to be good. There is such potential -- they are using quality ingredients, have a nice menu & ambiance, service was good, and the owners really seem to care. But the food is always a little disappointing. read more

Upscale Italian, steak, seafood and even a sandwich or two. Been going to Campano's as our goto place to celebrate all the wonderful things in life. They do it right, focus on the details, top notch service and highest quality/freshly made dishes. Personal favorites include the shrimp cocktail, chicken Marsala, fish fry and Brussel Sprouts. Campano. Famiglia. Last week our family was sitting down for dinner and we realized nonna didn't put the sauce on the stove. Like obviously an honest mistake, and it's okay but a lot of people were really hungry and we couldn't wait for the sauce because it really needs like a whole afternoon on the stove so someone suggested we just go to Campano's and nonna can do sauce the next night. Nonna, please forget to put the sauce on more often because this place was sooo good! The eggplant parm 100/100, pizzas are all so good, salads, everything incredible. It was a really nice night, and it was so nice to get out and spend time with famiglia. And then nonna made a killer sauce the next day, and I swear it was different. Better, different. It reminded me of Campano's sauce. read more

This was a fabulous find! We were traveling back home from Cape Cod and exited I90 in fredonia. The restaurant had just opened, promptly seated and were greeted by a sweet server, Taylor! The food was authentic Italian and absolutely wonderful! From the wedding soup to the pasta to the canoli, we were very pleased! Fresh warm bread and butter! Traveling through and asked for a rec from the hotel. This was his place. What a gem! Charming interior and ambiance, interesting menu with classic and modern choices. Staff is helpful and friendly. So worth the few extra minutes drive for a memorable meal rather than a chain restaurant off the highway. You won't be disappointed. read more

My favorite dishes are the calamari, mussels, and beef on weck. The portions are large and the beef is the best I've had in town.

10 of us dined there... None of us had been there before, and we looked at the reviews which were quite favorable, although there were only 17 of them. The prices on the menu online seemed reasonable. The menu they provided us with had much higher prices. Approximately 20 to 25%. For example, a pasta dish, chicken Parmesan online was.$16... we were charged 22 the entrées didn't come with the house salad as online. They were supposed to come with herb crusted, fresh Italian bread. The whole table of 10 was provided with only two very small baguettes. We also had to wait over an hour to be served with all of the the little bread to nibble on. The consensus of the table was disappointment. read more

The menu is very misleading almost a form of false advertising. The lasagna is listed as containing both Italian sausage and ground Chuck. We order it only to find the dish was a cheese lasagna with a sauce containing a fine ground mix of the Chuck and Italian Sausage. When I mentioned it to the server she told the owner. Owner came to our table and explained they only make one type of lasagna a cheese filled because they don't want to make two types. I said that the menu is misleading. We emailed to express our less than desirable experience and avoid writing a negative review. Didn't hear anything back, maybe it went to spam, regardless, for almost $200, which included an app, spaghetti and veggie lasagna(nothing fancy), 4 martinis, and a stale (had that refrigerator taste) dessert, we wouldn't go back. Our table server was great, but the bartender couldn't care less about customers. We were the only ones in the restaurant and she was apparently too busy in a sales meeting with a wine rep tasting wines to make our drinks. We considered leaving but asked our server if maybe she could have the bartender make our drinks. Hoping to find "that local place" and avoid the drive to Erie or Buffalo, but honestly, we get better service and food, traveling, for considerably less money, especially when we ordered basic pasta dishes. The red sauce here is super chunky, so if you prefer a smooth sauce, this won't be for you. The veggie lasagna was super rich and cheesy, they definitely use quality ingredients Wish we asked about the red sauce, i would have ordered the filet that gets great reviews. Unfortunately, for a nice little place, we are looking for way better service at these prices. With no other customers in the place, you simply cannot ignore them and not do your one job making two cocktails. read more

Lasagna thick, hard, burned and rubbery on the bottom, terrible sauce and filling; Caesar salad had no garlic or lemon flavor, just bland; Scampi only fair; soup was extra salty; only the cocktails were decent. Very disappointing and this was on a Saturday night, when the best efforts should be showing. Will never return. For the prices they charge, it should be a great deal better!!! This is my favorite place to eat in Chautauqua county! I could eat here once a week. Prices a little higher than average but well worth it fir the quality. We've been about 4 times now and every time food was excellent. Try their drink specials. I had a Pink Lady. Delicious and served with an orchid! Lemon cake is to die for. It's a small place but nice. Servers are so nice and responsive. Go early as it seems to get busy after @6PM. Hoping their hours expand sometime to include lunch. read more

Had never been to Campano' s Cucina but had heard fantastic reviews on the atmosphere and food. When I saw the ad for a comedy show there, I thought that would be the perfect first experience! From the moment our party arrived until we left, the experience was top notch! Establishment is homey and inviting. Staff was highly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to us all evening. Leah was our waitress and went above and beyond. Jared made the most amazing drinks. Our food was five star quality! I savored every bite from the appetizer to the main course through dessert! This was our second time eating at Campano's Cucina. Our first time eating at the restaurant our service and food was poor but we concluded it was due to the restaurant just opening. A year later we ate again. Our server only attended our table to take our order, serve our food and place the check. It took over 15 minutes to receive our drink order, and took well over an hour to receive our food (on a not busy afternoon). Each individual at our table was quite disappointed in the meal for the price of food. No individual was left satisfied by their meal. Our experience was disheartening as we only wish for the best when it comes to small businesses. We wish nothing but the best for this business but we were extremely disheartened by our service and food. read more
