Nice view and location. Restaurant recently changed chef and menu and it was such a disappointment. Used to be a great spot for good food and ambiance. Had nice salads and pub fare plus family friendly options. Now the menu is pretentious and expensive. There is no need for a $38 pork chop or $28 fettuccine Alfredo at this resort. I hope you'll go back to something that fits in better with the casual lake town vibe. Wont be returning if that menu stays. *** updated*** My bad, the Pork Chop is $29 - I was WAAAYYYY off - what a bargain. If you're disabled, don't bother. They don't want you there. Upon finding out that my wife and I are disabled, we were led to an unoccupied part of the restaurant, and seated in the very back, where there was no view other than the otherwise empty room. Our food was delivered by a server who basically threw the plates on the table (his hand left the plates before the plates touched the table and just walked away). My wife's meal was burnt black and mine was mediocre to fair at best. The only positive thing I have to say is about the waiter who was courteous and friendly. However, that is not enough to ever make us want to go back. They will never get another penny from us. Would post zero stars if it were possible. read more

My wife and I visited Chelan for the first time, and searched for somewhere to eat. As you walk about the very small downtown area, you are not presented with many appealing choices. So, we gave the Campbell House Cafe a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The menu was varied, the food and cocktails were very good, and the service was excellent. And, the price was moderate. Went to the bistro for a late breakfast yesterday. For food, the crab benedict and pancakes were good however the prime rib hash was awful. The worst part was the service we received. Our server was rude...she made the other girl fill our water/coffee but the water girl only filled one glass or cup at a time when we all needed refills. We waited for 25 mins for the server to come back with our change and watched her talking to the only other table in the bistro. I will not be going back... read more

Was not impressed. First the menu clearly states there are gluten free options, however the server was not very knowledgeable when it came to Celiac and gluten free. The prices are very high. Then to top it off before we could order breakfast my friend found a hair in her Bloody Mary. After that we knew we had to leave. We were Traveling 5 hours to the resort, and splurging on a quick vacation to celebrate our anniversary. While doing our online reservation for dining we were asked if we were coming in to celebrate anything special I promptly filled out that it was our anniversary. Leading up to our trip we were so excited and we were being told by locals that Campbell's was a great choice for our anniversary dinner and they said that it would be a great experience. Needless to say we were excited, and then very let down by less than 20 minutes into our dinner. We were greeted by a hostess with very poor communication skills. We expressed our concern of outdoor dining due to the air quality, and she just said "follow me" and took us outside anyway. We were able to see past that and continue our special dinner. After some time we were greeted by our not so friendly server Hailey. She seemed to have judged us right of the bat as if we shouldn't have been dining there. She showed her lack of interest in our table throughout our whole visit. Once we put in a drink and appetizer order she had disappeared until bringing out both items, and taking our entree orders. We then began to eat our appetizer. I sat with an empty water glass for over 20 minutes while tables around us got refills, and checked on constantly. I saw her behavior and interactions with other guest around us and we were not getting the same treatment at all. Finally our food came and I was able to ask for a refill, but she had also forgot my steak knife so I was unable to begin my meal, while waiting for a knife and more water we sat around waiting again for another extended period of time. Finally when I got my knife for my meal we started to eat. After two bites of my significant others food he had to stop eating it due to it not being a great meal to say the least. While on the other hand 10 minutes into our meal, my food was completely cold. We ended up sharing my cold steak due to the fact that my boyfriend could not eat his food. We didn't see our server again until she dropped our tab off, she then asked if we would like boxes gesturing to the uneaten meal on the table to which we declined and she proceeded to walk away. She didn't ask how our meal was, or ask about the uneaten dish. Nor did she offer any dessert options. Then she proceeded to help the table across from us, which was a very uncomfortable and rude encounter on her part that we had to witness. This encounter ended with Hailey storming off from the table due to a guest asking a simple question (do you have salsa? And do you know what it is?). She then came back silently and tossed a bowl of salsa on their table and stormed out again. She then came and got our check and was on her way back inside. We left feeling so disappointed and cheated of what could have been a great experience. The fact that we came to a high end restaurant at a resort and got less than mediocre service all around was so upsetting, and the fact that it was for such a special occasion made it more disappointing to us. we found ourselves far from satisfied, and complaining to each other about various things throughout our visit instead of enjoying our night. a dinner for two is not cheap here, we spent over $100, when we could have spent that same amount somewhere else (or even a fraction of that price) and not have had such a disappointing night. This has been a poor experience for us overall and this will be a place we won't be referring friends and family to for special occasions due to our experience.  If you're trying to leave anything but a positive review good luck!! Jon will not care and is very rude and inconsiderate. After trying to reach manager Jon for A WEEK with no answer from him, I finally gave up and emailed him. After a week he called and offered a free meal, saying "call me when you're in town". Living so far away this was just simply not going to work, he wasn't even willing to do a gift certificate. How would we ever show proof of a free meal? I then called to ask for a refund instead so we could go and have a "redo dinner" elsewhere.. and couldn't get ahold of him. Finally I got ahold of someone in the resort to track him down and tell him. He then emailed me for the credit card info to do a refund. Finally right? .. wrong. It's not been almost TWO weeks with no refund and almost a whole MONTH since our visit. After emailing and calling multiple times and never hearing back or able to reach his office phone he finally emailed me today stating "I will be back in my office later this week " that's all! Poor management, and poor service.. UPDATE: Tom reached out and listen to my experience, and what we went through with Jon. We appreciate Tom reaching out and making things right. Although this won't erase our stay I hope that going forward they can work to make other experiences better than ours. Thanks Tom! read more

Every time I've gone here I've been treated like family! When I first moved to town this was the first choice for my girlfriend to go out and have a date night. We weren't disappointed with our decision and I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many times we've been back since! At first I always ordered the beer battered pretzel as my appetizer but now I'm on a calamari kick because their calamari is amazing and a perfect size to share with a friend or significant others! I have been to Campbell's many times, as I visit Chelan nearly every summer. We went there twice last week and were seated quickly, despite the crowd. The food was good, my guests reported that the drinks were well-mixed and I can personally attest that the mousse shooters for dessert were amazing. The staff seemed to be mostly made up of Chelan High students, but they were well-managed and attentive. We sat out on the balcony. Last summer, the service was slow even when the restaurant wasn't busy and the drinks were not as well made. read more

We've been here many times over many years and it's really hit or miss. The staff is very friendly and great atmosphere but at the end of the day it's about the food. So sad, I have grown up going to Campbells since I was a kid. Stopped with husband's daughter who has NEVER been to Chelan. Wanted to share my experience of Campbells with her. Husband ordered a meal off of Brunch menu and his daughter ordered French toast with bananas. I ordered a BLT sandwich with a salad. My sandwich came out really dry and I wondered if it was supposed to be that way - finally upon my last bite and asking my husband for his ketchup to put on sandwich - I asked the waitress if the sandwich was supposed to come that way - she said no and offered the Aioli sauce that the COOK FORGOT to put on the sandwich. The waitress apologized and I asked her if she could adjust the price off of our bill. She checked with her manager "Elliott" and told us that "Elliott" would not adjust anything. I then asked to speak to "Elliott" - he approached our table and I introduced myself and shook his hand. We were shocked at his "BULLYING" attitude when he said that "you already ate the sandwich and he wasn't going to adjust anything" - WOW - he looked like he was ready for a 'fight" - I am a teacher and would have put him in 'time out' for his attitude!!!! I feel so sad that he had to react this way to us - it made me cry. He took off $1.80 from the bill. "ELLIOTT" needs to learn people skills or get another job!! read more

Well it's just my two cents here: Paula was our waitress last night for a table of 7 prepared to spend a lot of money as we were celebrating my sisters 30th birthday. She was really unfriendly and rare to be seen. When she did make an appearance to check on us, we all reordered drinks. When I placed my order for a Malbec, I may have pronounced the 'A' portion like "AW". She sat there and gave me the most dumbfounded look and said, "what?" So I repeated my requested, she paused for a moment, and then said, "oh a mALbec". Basically my pronunciation was Awwwl and she said AL-like a mans name. I have never felt more disrespected. Though the other wait staff was friendly and the food was pretty decent minus the Calamari and Coconut Prawns being rubbery. Paula, you may not like tourists, but tourism is what helps Lake Chelan stay busy providing employment and better economics. But like I said, that's just my two cents. Food is good, menu has a good number of options, but everything is priced for a much more upscale place than it is. The killer for me, and the reason I won't be back, is the terrible wait time. I've been here three times for brunch and once for dinner. Every time has been a minimum of thirty minutes between order and the food arriving, with little interaction with wait staff in the interim. They clearly have enough staff out front, but none seem to know what's going on. Most recent visit was forty minutes between ordering and us leaving. At least four other groups that arrived after us received food first. Lots of promises of "your food is next". Very unhappy and will not be coming back. I advise you to avoid it as well. read more

Well I hate to say it but tonight we came here longing for the before mentioned prime rib, one of the highlights of our yearly visits to Chelan, wow..they must have changed suppliers. The toughest prime rib we had ever eaten. It was hard to cut, tough and chewy...I politely mentioned to the waiter that we have had the prime rib there for years and always loved it but tonight it was bad. I challenged him to take it to the kitchen and try to cut it. .don't think he did..anyhoo...to bad...he did take a small amount off of our tab but very little considering we had 4 and none of us ate even half of our dinner...oh well guess we have to find another favorite place to have dinner here..... read more

My husband and I eat here when ever we are Rving at Lake Chelan. It was recommended as the best breakfast place in town, and true it is. Prices were reasonable, considering this is touristy town. Food was super great and menue diverse. I highly recommend , at least for breakfast. Will try dinner on one of our next trips. read more

The food is good, but spendy. And, its about 20% more expensive than the same dish at Red Robin. My family and I find it extremely difficult to get a good table. Their philosophy of high table-turnover is frustrating because they leave large tables for six or eight people in great parts of the resturaunt open... and the extremely rude hostesses will straight up lie to our faces about the seating availability. Tried this place again this year. The food was much better this time. I tried a different flavor of wing. I went with the Saigon wings this time. In fact, sesame style wings are quickly becoming my favorite type of wing. Also ordered the buffalo wings as well. They were the same as they always were. Not necessarily bad, just nothing special or over the top. Not have to have it. Also ordered a blackened chicken cesar. It was good, a little light on the dressing, but it was fine. I LOVE Campbells ! I have been going to chelan at least once a year for 20 years now and Campbell's is always great! The food is in my opinion the best in town and is well priced. This is a restaurant bar on the second floor attached to the hotel so it can get very busy. Hostesses seemed a bit distracted and took about 2 minutes to address us but our waitress was the best ever. Most of the food was outstanding as well EXCEPT major disappointment over the prime rib. Being someone who has had prime rib in Chicago and at the keg in Seattle, this was way overly salted. I'm not sure if it was some sort of salted marinade or if it was salted afterwards but it ruined the meat. The salmon was excellent. Vegetables were also fresh and tasty. If you want a good steak, you'll have to go to the Winemakers Grill (wapato point cellars) in Manson. We went there the next day and that place makes a good steak. read more

Got roped into a disappointing Valentine's buffet at $75 a head! We are staying at the resort this weekend and thought we'd get a reservation at the hotel restaurant for Valentine's evening, expecting a prix fixe menu or something. The webpage or reservation confirmation made no mention of anything out of the ordinary. We arrived and were informed our reservation was for downstairs (implying we could have eaten pub food upstairs? No mention of our options). Perhaps 5 tables in the entire first floor were occupied for the buffet. The food was okay, what you would expect for a buffet. Disappointing in that it's not what we were after for dinner, but such as it is. But the price, which we were not informed of until receiving the check, did me in. We often have nice bistro dinners with a bottle of wine for the price of our check, and on this occasion we only had two glasses, and that is for full service with a full menu. I get that's it Valentine's day and they are trying to minimize staff, but wow, this was an outrageous disappointment! Cannot be more disappointed in our experience. The manager was receptive to my comments after the fact and made efforts to make things right, so I am changing my review to 2 stars. read more

This review is for the upstairs bar area, I am not sure there is a difference but we came here for my fiance's dad's birthday. We were prepared to have a nice dinner in the dining room but after entering we were told that they were having a private event and only the upstairs was available. We met the rest of our party up there. The service was ok. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and some of our salads came out before we even got our drinks... I ordered the ahi tuna tacos. Almost everyone else there got the halibut. The halibut was breaded and looked a little greasy, made me glad that I didn't order it but it was definitely a large serving. My tacos were OK. It was seared ahi tuna and i felt like it was on the chewier side. Lets just say that I was so hungry I choked it down but thought about sending it back. We ended up leaving just in time as a group full of cougars in a bachelorette party came crashing in, literally, drunk as skunks wine tasting all day. Searched on Yelp for good restaurants in then area and Veranda and Bistro came up. We followed the GPS and it brought us to Campbell's. Since it didn't have the same name, we thought it was the wrong address and kept walking around asking people on the street for directions. No one could point us to the right direction. We called the number and true enough, the Veranda was Campbell's Pub and Veranda! Located on the second floor, the restaurant offered a wall of windows looking out to the street below and a little water view. The interior is cozy with lots of wood and a two-sided fireplace as you walk in. Our server, Scott was welcoming and friendly although he forgot our silverware and bread (well okay, the restaurant was busy). Overall, service was quick and attentive. The menu offers a variety of starters, salads, three soups, burgers and entrées. They also offer a seasonal menu of specials and a good selection of WA wines. We started off with a cup of New England Clam Chowder and soup of the day, Chicken and Rice. We both enjoyed our soups although the chowder could have been a little thicker. We ordered the Pork Chop, Lamb Burger and Prime Rib. The chop came with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. The chop was lean, thick and tender. The burger was juicy, thick house-made patty accompanied by lentil salad. The prime rib was a perfect medium rare and served with asparagus and loaded baked potato. We enjoyed our dining experience and would highly recommend Campbell's for dinner. read more

To be clear that I've got the right restaurant (because there is the upstairs pub/restaurant and the downstairs restaurant) this was the upstairs with the pub/bar area. I was here during February, so although I can imagine nice outdoor seating, this wasn't the season. Food was Blah. We had a gift certificate here so we indulged in appetizers, entrees, drinks, and dessert. The only thing that was really fabulous was the wine. Food was trying to be inventive and unique but just didn't come through. Probably something for everyone on this diverse menu, which can be a plus in a group. The problem I find is that if you have too diverse a menu and you flavor for the masses to enjoy--nothing really stands out and is yum and flavors are bland so as not tip the scale one way or the other. Also, didn't like you needed pay for an order of bread (we had some extra sauce from our appetizer that was crying for some bread). The "bread" was meager portion of heated and slightly seasoned pita. Not impressive--and lame to charge for it. There was nothing wrong with our dinner, but I'm sure there are other places to go. I would highly recommend for drinks/appetizers, but maybe get you entree somewhere else. And dessert...apple pie...so not yummy. We didn't even finish it. read more
