No kidding, don't let the gas station vibes throw you, this place has great eats. We walked in through the gas station part of the building and were surprised to see the rustic decor of a medium sized dining area and an adjacent bar. It was a pretty full dining room and we sat ourselves. It didn't look promising as we saw one waitress and one bartender. However, after a brief wait, the waitress came to our table and assured us she would return as quickly as possible to get our drink and food orders. She returned as promised. Our drinks arrived a short time later. They were well made and attention was paid to get us another round as we finished the first. Our table had ribs, prime rib and a French dip sandwich. The portion size was great and the food arrived hot. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was tasty. The prime rib had great flavor, was prepared as ordered and had very little fat. The French dip was also tasty. Truth be told, a salad bar would make this a true five star rating. The salads served with the meal were nice but very run-of-the-mill. Will we go back in the future? There is a good sized bar that is open to the lake on three sides so there is not a bad seat in the house. The food ranges from snacks and appetizers to wraps, burgers and of course, a fish fry and all were delicious. The drinks are good and reasonably priced and the atmosphere can't be beat. I sat in that bar for a long time and between the locals and guests and people passing through, everyone was friendly and fun. Each night I sat at a different campfire with the other guests and we all had a great time. They have boat rentals, a launch for guests and plenty of slips. Plus, they have the only beach on Pickerel Lake. It is a great place to relax and unwind. I can't wait to go back in the fall.

I watched Trish kneel down at a table and get in a lady's face and without asking any questions on what happened, start reprimanding her on where shes from and how she act's. Saying "that's not how we do things here" with so much aggression cutting the poor lady off she couldn't even respond let alone explain what's going on. And she handled it with so much grace, still leaving a 20 tip. It was a complete misunderstanding that was entirely worthy of an apology had any of the staff cared to correct it. The waitress of that table stood behind the counter gossiping about them and the other waitresses took turns looking over and whispering while smirking until they left. What I saw happen was, the waitress forgot to put their order in and never checked in with them for an hour, and when asked about it was offended by the customers who responded in disappointment. A minute later a Manager (Trish) angrily confronts a local regular, assuming they were from out of town. If trish had seen the full thing there is no way she would have harassed this customer in her face like that. Regardless I can't recommend a place that operates in hostility, nor lacks that much communication through staff and customers let alone basic respect. It is beyond disappointing in service, quality, and experience.
