What happened today was unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The place was visibly dirty and completely unappetizing. The back area was mostly hidden behind what looked like a shower curtain, which did nothing to inspire confidence. There appeared to be only one man working, and he came out only a few times during the entire 45 minutes we waited. Even more concerning, there was a child who looked to be about eight or nine years old wearing latex gloves and repeatedly coming out to the front, apparently helping with restaurant tasks that no child should be doing. Despite having prepaid through Too Good To Go, no one acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes. We stood in a hot dining room with almost no air conditioning while the child wandered in and out and the adult remained behind the curtain. More people arrived behind us, also with prepaid orders, until there were about 10 people waiting. We watched three other customers receive their food before us. One was a DoorDash driver, which made sense, and one woman had arrived before us. However, another woman with a very small order was served ahead of us even though she arrived after we did. When the man finally came out, we showed him our Too Good To Go order. He swiped the app, marking our order as picked up, then disappeared behind the curtain again and never returned with our food. After waiting 45 minutes in a sweltering dining room on a nearly 100-degree Texas day, we gave up. We left without the food we had already paid for. At that point, losing the cost of the meal was preferable to staying in that environment any longer. This was one of the worst pickup experiences I have ever had. Between the unsanitary conditions, the lack of staff, the presence of a child apparently performing restaurant tasks, the complete absence of customer service, and the fact that we never even received the order we had already paid for, I can say with complete confidence: We will never return.

Since I ordered to-go, I didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff. I will say the young man working the register could've been a little more welcoming and engaging. This would've also been a perfect opportunity to upsell me on a dessert, drink, or another menu item, especially since it was my first time there. Overall, though, the food was the star of the show. The chicken was flavorful, well-seasoned, and not too salty. I'd definitely come back and try some other items on the menu.

Everything was hot when I received it, but strangely, the first piece of fish and the wings didn't taste freshly fried. They were hot, but the breading had lost that fresh crispness, which made me wonder if they had possibly been reheated or dropped back into the fryer. What made it even more noticeable was that my second piece of fish was MUCH better and tasted considerably fresher. Overall, the fish and chicken were also surprisingly bland. Once I got home, I ended up adding seasoning salt myself. However, I have to give credit where it's due: the green beans and cornbread were easily the highlights of the meal. The green beans had good flavor, and the cornbread was REALLY good. It was incredibly moist--almost cake-like moist--and definitely one of the things I enjoyed most. Unfortunately, the mac & cheese was the biggest disappointment. It was extremely dry, and even the noodles didn't look like the mac & cheese I had seen in photos before ordering. Maybe I received what was left toward the bottom of the pan because it was the end of the day, but either way, what I received really wasn't acceptable. I'm including a picture because it honestly speaks for itself. I completely understand that I ordered close to closing time, and I'm taking that into consideration. However, if the quality of the food can't be maintained until closing, I think there should be a cutoff for new orders--maybe 30 minutes beforehand. If a restaurant is open, still accepting orders, and charging full price, customers should receive the same quality of food they would receive earlier in the day. I spent around $30, so overall this was disappointing. I'm actually considering giving Juicy's another try in the middle of the day because I'd like to know whether this was simply an end-of-day experience or if this is representative of the food overall. Based on this first visit, though, I wasn't impressed.

The shrimp was really good and once again I was surprised at how big they were. There was a ton of fries and only ate about half of them, but they were good as well. I was very impressed with the fried oysters. They were big oysters and tasted great. My wife loved her snow crab. It comes with tons of potatoes, corn on the cob and several shrimp and we were stuffed by the time we left. We will definitely come back and try something different on the menu next time
