Food was hot and fresh, the inside was clean and comfortable but can use a little extra air conditioning. Overall I can't wait to go back here.

Fried pork chops, Mac n cheese, and yams

Saw this place on YELP while visiting Fort Worth. We made the short 30 minute ride and ordered. Pork chops were cooked to order so it took about 20 minutes the get the food. It was really good. Chops were fried really well and tender. Sides were great!! Give it a shot if you're ever down that way. PS: they were out of greens.

The menu and the Sunday menu

Food was outstanding. I ordered the salmon croquettes and my sister had catfish, both are amazing. The greens are seasoned perfectly and the Mac and cheese is so creamy and delicious. I also had the cornbread and banana pudding, both were epic! I wanted to try every dessert they had, unfortunately they sold out. I'll be back for sure. I really want to try their Sunday menu. The service was really great as well. Who I think is the owner called me by name. I have never been in a restaurant where they called me by name. Very nice touch. The food was fresh and made to order, so while waiting for the food we could pick a song on their jukebox. Again, we will be back!

Super excited to try Juicys new location. She closed her Soul food Rest and moved here with less Main dish offerings. Mainly all fried foods except for Sundays where she refers to this as Soul Food Sundays with all the favorites. Meatloaf, baked chicken etc. We opted to try the 3 piece Fried Chicken, Fired Pork Ribs and Catfish. Sides consisted of Green beans, greens, Mac n cheese, Mashed tasters, and fried corn. I'll start by saying the food is good..really good but it's not as good as the other location. The fried chicken has a different batter. It's crispy and juicy but thicker in texture. I'd argue her chicken was the absolute best at her previous location. It had that "cast iron salty flavor" and was delicious. It's good and fresh but it's typical for fried chicken. 3 stars out of 5. Fried catfish. It's the star of the day. Cooked to perfection. I'd argue a bit more seasoning is needed but it was delicious. When I learned she was moving locations I suggested that she offer Fried Cod. DFW needs a restaurant that knows how to prep and serve a delicious piece of fried cod. 4.5 stars. The Fried Pork Ribs was good and different. Seasoned to perfection and tender. 5 stars. The sides. Greens beans just as good as her previous location. Really enjoyed them. Seasoned and tasty. The colored greens were good, not as seasoned or tasty as the green beans but still good. The mashed taters and gravy and fried corn was a home runs. Mac n cheese was nice and tender. I like that it wasn't mushy or overcooked but would prefer it to be a little more cheesy. Service is impeccable. Everyone is friendly and The new location is airy and bright.

This place is absolutely fantastic. I found it while trying to find some shrimp tacos and somehow they showed up in the algorithm. Thank god it did. I must say my absolute favorite is the fried chicken those wings hit a part of my soul that hasn't been explored since my grandma was making chicken. Not to be out done the pork chops and the turkey wings were absolutely amazing. Don't sleep on the sides as those greens and yams are all seasoned great so I know somebody at least in their late 40's back there with some blessed hands. With this being my second trip in 2 days there's no doubt I will be returning fairly often to try the other dishes. What a great find PS Don't forget to get some Kooliad.

Kudos to Juicy's for focusing on made-to-order fried chicken, cooked from scratch. After a 12-15 minute wait, my lunch--breast and wing with crinkle-cut fries and a drink for $10.25--arrived piping hot. The chicken was indeed hot but leaned salty and garlicky, with oil that tasted a bit over-used and lingered on the palate. The breading lacked the crunch of top competitors, and the generous fries were noticeably greasy. Perhaps I just caught them on an off day.

Great food, disappointing that there's no AC in the restaurant tho, only portable fans blowing hot air. Got the 3 piece fried chicken meal with mac and cheese and collard greens and add on of the Catfish. Fried chicken was good, good flavor, very crispy. Mac and cheese was okay, tastes like krafts cheese or American single cheese. Collard greens was good but super salty, nice smoked smell tho. Corn bread was gooooood. The catfish was kinda small for $5 but it was super fresh. Overall 3.4/5 i would come agains to try different sides. Hopefully they get their AC fix.

My favorite piece of fried chicken is the wing. Not buffalo wings, just fried chicken wings. I read other Yelp* review of Juicy's, and was dying to try it, so I checked their hours and headed over around 2PM in the afternoon. When I arrived, there were no cars in the parking lot and it looked closed. I went up to the front door to see if there was a note but all that was posted there were their normal hours. Based on that, they were supposed to be open. Not a good start. I posted about this on Facebook, saying it looked like they were closed for good. A friend of ours replied the next day that she had moved down the street from Juicy's and she saw the restaurant open for business that day. I headed over again and they were open. Soul Food, Comfort Food, Home Cooking, whatever you want to call it, that's what they're serving at Juicy's with a large side of FRIENDLINESS. I grew up in south Texas, so a bowl of pinto beans with a piece of cornbread is a meal I love to this day. However, I was craving chicken, so I ordered the chicken plate (you can specify 4 wings) with mashed potatoes w/brown gravy and pinto beans (of course). Have you noticed that most dining out today is underwhelming? It seems to me the restaurants are using cheaper ingredients. Everything tastes bland. BUT NOT AT JUICY'S! The meal hit the spot for me. The wings are "whole wings," meaning there are no "drums" and "flats." Each wing at Juicy's is BOTH PARTS. It's the whole wing! I was full after just three but Bonnie grabbed the last one to "keep it from going to waste." (I think she was keeping it from going to MY waist...) The beans reminded me of my mom's pinto beans. The brown gravy on the potatoes reminded me of my grandmother's gravy at Thanksgiving. The cornbread was almost like cake. Even the music was great, featuring R&B and blues. We found ourselves humming along to the music as we feasted on the food. We're definitely going back.

They say the hole in the wall be the best spots... let's say this is one of those spots the pics in my opinion did this place no justice... The food was amazing. Customer service was great as well.. I'll definitely be back when in the area. I had the 3 piece chicken with cabbage and candied yams.. seasoned very well

Loved this little hole in the wall place. The counter staff was friendly and walked us through the menu, suggesting the cornbread over the roll and it was delicious! We got the three piece with two sides. The chicken was crispy, beautifully seasoned, and juicy. The fries were crispy and hot and the pinto beans were a little spicy and very hot. The fried okra was crispy and fries and the mac and cheese was hot and cheesy. I will highly recommend this place to everyone and we will be back!

What happened today was unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The place was visibly dirty and completely unappetizing. The back area was mostly hidden behind what looked like a shower curtain, which did nothing to inspire confidence. There appeared to be only one man working, and he came out only a few times during the entire 45 minutes we waited. Even more concerning, there was a child who looked to be about eight or nine years old wearing latex gloves and repeatedly coming out to the front, apparently helping with restaurant tasks that no child should be doing. Despite having prepaid through Too Good To Go, no one acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes. We stood in a hot dining room with almost no air conditioning while the child wandered in and out and the adult remained behind the curtain. More people arrived behind us, also with prepaid orders, until there were about 10 people waiting. We watched three other customers receive their food before us. One was a DoorDash driver, which made sense, and one woman had arrived before us. However, another woman with a very small order was served ahead of us even though she arrived after we did. When the man finally came out, we showed him our Too Good To Go order. He swiped the app, marking our order as picked up, then disappeared behind the curtain again and never returned with our food. After waiting 45 minutes in a sweltering dining room on a nearly 100-degree Texas day, we gave up. We left without the food we had already paid for. At that point, losing the cost of the meal was preferable to staying in that environment any longer. This was one of the worst pickup experiences I have ever had. Between the unsanitary conditions, the lack of staff, the presence of a child apparently performing restaurant tasks, the complete absence of customer service, and the fact that we never even received the order we had already paid for, I can say with complete confidence: We will never return.

I'm giving 4 stars because the service needs a little more organization and training. When we walked in, my daughter asked a petite young lady how long the wait would be, and unfortunately, her response came across as unprofessional with a bit of an attitude. Even while taking our order, some of her responses didn't reflect a team-oriented attitude. When one person looks good, the whole team looks good--and when one person doesn't, it reflects on everyone. I don't hold that against the young lady; in my opinion, she simply needs more training and guidance for her role. One of Ms. Nana's friends even got up in her church clothes to help sweep. She later went home, changed, came back, and immediately started helping--that's a friend! I also LOVE that some of the staff are part of a second-chance organization! I came here today a little after 5pm and did not get a greeting like everyone else did when I walked into the door. They were pretty busy with to go orders around this time. There is an entrance area where you order and pay for your food and a separate area for dining in. I ordered a catfish fillet with Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes and fried shrimp basket with fries and greens to go. I ordered at 5:15 and got my food at 5:45 and let me tell you, it was the longest wait of my life. I think the A/C must've been broken because it was hot in the waiting area and it didn't help that one of the front desk girls kept complaining about them still being open for another hour. There were a bunch of flies everywhere and the front area doesn't seem to be cleaned throughout the day. I also feel for the woman who puts the plates together because she's doing it by herself and was constantly asking the front desk girls to bag the orders. She stayed calm though and still greeted people as they were coming in. Now for the food. The shrimp basket was $25.99 and the catfish was $19.99. The shrimp was good, kids approved. The catfish was good too. All the food was made fresh to order so I can appreciate that for quality. Onto the sides. I think the French fries were accidentally season with sugar instead of salt. The greens were ok, just drenched with garlic. The Mac n cheese, ehhh. I was looking forward to the Mac n cheese but it wasn't as cheesy as I was expecting but tasted ok. The sweet potatoes were really good, probably my favorite side out of the four. The cornbread was moist and good. Overall, food was good but definitely overpriced. However, I do support small businesses but still think it's a bit overpriced based on portion size. They do require you pay for your food before you sit down if you are dining in. This may be because of too many incidents where people dine and dash. I do think that the lady behind the counter putting the plates together needs better help. No offense to the young girls they have working there but either train them or get someone who can actually do the job. If you are looking for true southern food, this ain't it. Texas food vs. southern food are 2 completely different things which I am learning the hard way now having lived here for a year.

As far as the menu, although brisket was an available option on the 1-Meat Plate, there was a separate All Brisket Plate item. I chose the latter as I wanted brisket with Hatch Green Chili Macaroni & Cheese and Cole Slaw as sides. The brisket was moist and tender, almost melting in my mouth. There were a few pieces either burnt or fatty. The sauce was definitely not needed. As for the sides, the hatch chili flavored the macaroni & cheese without making it too spicy. The sauce was the appropriate amount as the cole slaw was not drowning in it. After a bite of the Texas toast, I understand why folks may want to order more slices.

It doesn't seem like much sitting in the strip center, but we walked inside. They've got two good size dining areas and plenty of room. Also we enjoyed that they had the football games on TVs in both rooms. The menu appears to be updated almost daily on a chalkboard. It took a minute to look over everything and make a choice. We opted for the fried oysters as an appetizer then I ordered the fish and shrimp plate and my wife ordered the # 7, which today was one cluster snow, crabs, and shrimp. They brought our food out in to go boxes, which is I guess what everybody eats out of. We were both blown away when we opened them up and saw how much food they give you. The portions are huge. My fish and fried shrimp was pretty good. The fish could use a little bit more seasoning, but it was cooked very well and tasted good. The shrimp was really good and once again I was surprised at how big they were. There was a ton of fries and only ate about half of them, but they were good as well. I was very impressed with the fried oysters. They were big oysters and tasted great. My wife loved her snow crab. It comes with tons of potatoes, corn on the cob and several shrimp and we were stuffed by the time we left. We will definitely come back and try something different on the menu next time

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very welcoming upon entry and the staff is absolutely amazing. We were sat quickly, and our server, Kimberly, was friendly, fast, and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was always delicious. The collard green and spinach dip and fried pickles were ordered as appetizers and both were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the naan bread chips that came with the dip. Other sides that my party ordered included cabbage, collard greens, yams, and the honey butter cornbread. Everything was hot, well seasoned, and delicious. I will go back and happily pay full price. I almost forgot my favorite part, you can pay at the table using a QR code. Thanks for honoring educators today!

Tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot, but it was too early not past 12 noon. The boudin balls tasted like something was freezer burned... like it was frozen and popped in the microwave. But I should have known better when the ranch tasted like a bottle of wishbone and not fresh made ranch. The waitress was not the best. When I advised that the food was not up to par, no manager came to check on the issue, apologize, or try and correct what was wrong. The drinks were not even good. The margarita tasted like she spilled dish washing liquid in the glass then fixed it. Will never go back
