We went to Camping Nation to look at an RV. In the beginning, the experience was great. Our salesman was friendly, responsive, and helpful. He told us he could get us a low down payment, include backup cameras, and apply a diamond coating to the RV if we purchased that day. We were also told: All cosmetic issues would be fixed There were no leaks or water damage The failed exterior seals would be redone Mechanical issues would be addressed The roof would be fully resealed Based on those assurances, we signed paperwork that day. From that point forward, it had been downhill. A week later, we went to pick up the RV. It looked like nothing had been done other than a poor wash job. The promised repairs were untouched. We brought up the issues again, so they kept it a few more days. We returned again. A couple minor cosmetic items were addressed, but the roof was still not done. We called and arranged to bring it back specifically for the roof. They kept it several more days. One important detail: the faucet was leaking from the very beginning, but we didn't realize it at pickup because water was never hooked up during the walkthrough. Once we got the RV home and connected water ourselves, the issue became obvious. A bigger issue showed up immediately after that. The very first night we had the RV at home, we woke up the next morning to find the entire underbelly flooded with a massive amount of water -- easily hundreds of gallons. We were explicitly told there were no leaks or water damage. Later, we were called to sign title paperwork that should have been sent two weeks prior. While there, we inspected the roof ourselves. One small area around a ladder post and one spot near the front had sealant. The rest of the cracked and failing seals were untouched. The maintenance technician told us they had used a full tube of Dicor and had to go to the store to get more. He specifically said he would go pick it up on his lunch break because they didn't have any in stock. In reality, it appears only one tube was ever used. The roof clearly was not resealed. We were then called and told the RV was ready. Nothing additional had been done. We live over 100 miles one way from this dealership and made multiple trips. Every time we were told it was fixed. Every time we checked it ourselves and found it was not. We sent detailed close-up photos of the cracked roof seals. At first, a salesman insisted there was nothing wrong with the roof. After seeing the photos, he quickly changed his stance and began apologizing. The next day, the maintenance technician called and again tried to argue that the roof did not need repair. We were then told to bring it back again and that the owner would personally reseal the roof. We have given at least four opportunities for this to be corrected. We were also told that if we brought it back again, they would reimburse us for gas. Once we explained we are now over 450 miles away, that offer was immediately withdrawn and the conversation shifted to "let me send you your warranty information." At that point, we decided to handle the roof ourselves because we no longer trust their work. It took approximately 15 tubes of Dicor to properly seal the roof. That alone shows how inaccurate it was when their maintenance staff made it seem like one or two tubes meant the job was complete. Even after all of this: Exterior seals were still failing Multiple promised repairs were incomplete The awning still catches on itself The built-in vacuum system does not work Now our options became: Continue hauling the RV hundreds of miles back and forth Or fix critical issues ourselves and/or use our warranty because they failed to complete the work after multiple attempts We were repeatedly told repairs were completed when they were not. That is the biggest issue here. The sales process was smooth and professional. The maintenance follow-through has been inconsistent, incomplete, and unreliable. Buyers should physically inspect the roof, seals, plumbing, appliances, and all systems themselves before leaving the lot, and ensure water is hooked up and everything is actively tested. We are extremely disappointed in how this has been handled. read more

My husband and I are motivated buyers looking for a used 5th Wheel. There was a specific model we wanted to buy and Camping Nation had it. We were promptly greeted when we entered, told the nice lady which one we wanted to see and were told it was unlocked and we were welcome to check it out. Turns out it was locked, but they came right out to open it. We were finished looking when a salesman came out to speak to us. We told him we were interested in buying it, but that we wanted to see the locked compartments underneath. After several attempts to locate the keys we were told they didn't have them and that they would have to order new keys if we bought it. We explained that we live in our Class A and that we'd like to know numbers on trade in. There was no one there who could put those figures together, so he took our rig information and our contact information. It's been a week and we have still never heard from him. We went down the road to Landon's and found the same model, one year newer, in better condition, for $10K less. After 30 minutes we had all the paperwork completed for purchase. The first problem we had was that the trailer was listed online with the wrong model number and my husband was the one who had to point it out to them. The pictures they posted didn't match the model number or specifications. This did however work out in our favor because they had accepted an offer from us and even though it was a better model we got it cheaper than the listing price. Our second problem was that Ranger Randy couldn't tell us any info about the trailer when we had questions and he had absolutely no idea about the paperwork even though he was the one doing it with us. We caught several errors on title papers where they would have us sign but it said print or they would tell us to both sign on a line but it wasn't the right line. Major errors that don't allow paper work to be processed. He had no idea when we would actually be able to get the new registration or an actual title in our name and we were told that the title would come in my husband's name in 45 days, but that they would have to get the title from the consigner which we understood. The woman named Lorie, also doing the paperwork just kept telling him that it would take 45 days but we would never actually know when it was OK for us to go to the MVD and she said don't worry about it over and over and repeated that we had 45 days. Then when we asked her if she could just call us to let us know that the title was finally changed over she gave us an attitude about it like it was going to be an inconvenience for her. Then when we went out for the walk-through of the trailer, there was a strong odor of propane and the two gentlemen repairing the trailer told my husband that they leak tested it with a meter and everything was good, but as the walk-through continued the odor just kept getting worse and worse. My husband found that the valve on the trailer was leaking very heavily. They did make it right after we pointed it out but we felt like they were trying to cover it up and playing dumb. We would have left with a fire hazard if my husband hadn't persisted and figured it out. Another issue was that on the listing the photos show a back up camera installed on the back. When we showed up to pick it up, we noticed the camera was removed and missing. We asked Ranger Randy as well as the "boss" and neither of them seemed like it mattered or they had any idea about why it was missing. Nobody offered a solution or even apologized for it being missing. Everyone's answer was "I don't know. I don't know. I don't know." We sat in awkward silence for about 5 minutes until we decided to go back to the trailer. After my husband voiced his concerns to all of them nobody seemed to show any care at all about what was going on and it was very awkward and uncomfortable when we left. The whole thing was frustrating rather than exciting. We then received a call from the owner because I asked to speak with him. My husband talked to him on the phone for quite a while and told him all our frustrations and concerns and it led us nowhere. The whole call was pointless and we ended the call because of how the conversation was going, the owner didn't seem to care about the rest of our concerns. Finally, they mailed us a bill of sale that wasn't filled out correctly so after waiting over an hour at the MVD to put the title in our name they couldn't accept the form. The supervisor also said "No." and we left with no title. My husband called Camping Nation and their explanation was that the "form changed this month" and I had to write something that they were supposed to on the paperwork. We ended up having to go to several third party title companies. They also had to consult with a supervisor and finally one of them decided they would "accept" it. Then we ended up paying a lot more than we would have if we were able to do it at the MVD. It all came down to the paperwork being filled out wrong on their end. I do NOT recommend this company. When all is said and done, we are happy with our new trailer, the price we got it for (due to the model being listed incorrectly) but the process was a disaster from start to finish. read more
