I always wondered what would constitute as a two-star rating since I have never given two stars before, but Camping World has helped defined it for me. This was a solid two star experience. Although most reviews were on the service side, my review will be on my sales experience.. First off, let me say, I went into this buying experience knowing there would be a few hiccups as I am on the other side of the country here in CA, buying an RV based on photos and what is told to me. I had to give a HUGE benefit of doubt that these guys wouldn't try to scam me, or try to withhold any major damages that can not be seen through photos. One major pet peeve that I have is when people say they're going to do something by a certain time and then just not do it. Obviously, I can't see the coach in person so I had to ask for photos of every angle and I would only get a few photos at a time. And they never came at the time they said it would be sent. Look, I would rather you say, I'm not sure when I can get these photos to you, rather than say, I will send these to you tomorrow, and nothing comes until I ask you again. Keep expectations low rather than give empty promises and get my hopes up for nothing. I also hate when I have to keep following up with you when I am giving YOU my hard earned money. It got especially worst once they got the check and set up transport. It was nearly impossible for me to get answers. Paper work was sent to my house with no notice, and altogether, there was just a major lack of communication on their part. When it was discovered that the keys were missing by the transport company, we tried to get a hold of someone at Camping World to see if the keys were signed for by the first driver (the transport had to change my driver, since the first one was having all sorts of problems and I wouldn't be surprised if he has my keys.) No one could give me a straight answer if there was anything signed or not, and after a few days I just gave up on hearing from them. Luckily the transport company accepted liability anyway and replaced my keys even without confirmation from Camping World. No matter how much I bitch and complain about the service, in the end, the RV did arrive to me in one piece. Sorta... Almost two months later.... The keys and the owner's manual were not in the trailer when it arrived and I will never know if it was due to the dealership or the transport company. The RV did come in good condition, without any major damage, and the damage they did disclose (paint chips, crack in slide out and bumper), wasn't as bad as it looked in the photos they sent to describe the damage. Almost everything was functional with the exception of a broken stabilizing jack, missing levelers and a crack on the interior ceiling which were all undisclosed. I can't really complain about that though because I did get the trailer for less than half of what it's worth and way lower than what I could buy it for here in CA. Hence the two stars. All in all, I did not feel like a valued customer at Camping World. I felt like they did not acknowledge the trust I was putting into them and did not consider the communication they would need to provide considering that we were thousands of miles apart. I almost felt like I was a burden to them for trying to resolve an issue that could have been easily resolved had someone just answered questions they should have had answers to. The way they treated me in the beginning when they were trying to pursue my business turned a complete 180 once they had my money. The reviews don't lie people. If you absolutely need to go here, just be forewarned. read more

I agree that once you purchase your RV you're not treated the same at all. We had a really good experience buying our RV last year but the first time we had to take it in for minor service they were rude, unorganized, and too busy to communicate with us. They literally had our camper for the entire month of July, prime camping time! If someone would have told us it would take that long we would of agreed to wait until after the season to bring it in, but it was never communicated. We live over an hour away and brought it in to drop it off after work, we called on the way in and said we were coming and there was heavy traffic, we walked in at 6:45 and they immediately rudely told us that they close at 7. We called a week after that to check progress because we had not heard from them, they had not even gone to look at it yet. Then we called a few days later and they said they had to order parts, which would take 10 days. A week later we had to call again to get an update since we had a trip planned soon and they said it would be done that week, we could pick it up Thursday. Thursday we tried to call to confirm but there was no answer, on our way out there at 5:20 we received a call that it wasn't ready they had the wrong parts. At this point it was beyond frustrating that we had to keep following up with them to request updates and were not given any information as to when it would be done, Kelly in service actually argued with us that they feel their service had been excellent. When it was finally ready, we went in to pick it up and the battery was dead from the light being left on and the running lights didn't work which were fine when we took it in. However it was 6:45 again so nobody was willing to look at it! Not wanting to leave it any longer we just left with no lights. UNBELIEVABLE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

My family and I went here to buy a Class A Motorhomes. The sales guy didn't know his Motorhomes, my husband and I knew more about them. When we told our sales person our price ($80,000) we were treated like we weren't good enough. Then the sales person couldn't close the deal so he had one of the sales managers come talk to us. The sales manager was cocky and arrogant. He had the same crappy attitude of someone that thinks he shit doesn't stink!!! We will be going to a close competitor, who always treated us well. After leaving a not so great a recent review about management for this store. The general sales manager reached out the following day. He was very apologetic and stated he had had no knowledge of how poorly treated I was in getting the proper camper lighting package I paid for. With in 24hrs he had the proper led bulbs shipped and arrive with in the week. Long story short, The recently new sales manager will stand behind what he sells and will take all actions necessary to make his customers happy. read more

Horrible trade value for near new camper as well as horrible sales managers who many times said they were a 'transparent company' with prices yet trade value bounced depending on the RV you were looking to buy... had made a deal with one sales manager, and because we had to deal with a different one the deal changed... horrible customer service with sales managers, however the sales associate was awesome.. super nice, and was willing to spend the time to walk us through whatever RV we wanted to look at... ended up buying a camper from Ballards down the road. On March 23, 2016 I had four dually tires on my class A RV replaced at Camping World in Hamburg N.Y. Upon completion I noticed slight marring on the chrome rims, grease left about the lugs and a sealer spilled on the rims and left to dry. At the time I made no complaint since it was something I could later clean. On April 15 I departed for Florida. In route one of the chrome axle covers fell off and was lost. Upon inspection I found the banning tie had not been properly tightened which caused the axle cover to wobble. After removing the other axle cover I found the flanges that secure it had not been bent back to give a tight fit. This workmanship makes me wonder what was not properly done that I can not see. While trying to find an elusive convection microwave on sale we had been disappointed with 4 other store locations not having stock. This one did and they have a huge in store inventory. We got our unit. While packing up to leave, I managed to slice my forehead open on the edge of our bedroom slide -- Camping World Staffer " Mary" is an EMT who kicked into high gear - helping me out, arranging a visit to a nearby emerg for stitches, and the store manager even agreed to send a car to pick us up after! If I could give 0 stars I would. We bought a camper without any issues and so referred my cousin. He just bought his. After he picked it up we found that the kitchen sink was leaking, the stabilizer bars were hanging up, and the antenna was never even hooked up. On our first trip found that the fresh water tank was leaking. Needless to say, they came to pick the camper up from him and it has been there for a week. RV dealer is huge. Went in to look at motor home felt like we were in a meat market took over 15 minutes to get a sales person to talk to. Told the salesman what we were interested in he immediately told us we should look at a certain used high end RV. When we said we were not interested in that particular one and that we wanted to see others he reluctantly said he would have to go get keys to open them up (everything was locked up on lot). When we did see one that we were interested in we were told that RV had just come in and he could not find the keys. Spent over an hours time at this dealer and looked at the interior of 3 RV's. Dealer needs to make motor homes easy for customers to look at not have to chase for keys each time you want to see interior! Very poor sales attitude toward someone who may spend $50,000-75,000 on their purchase! Will not go back... treated much better at other dealers in area !!!! PS. Three weeks later salesman called and said they found the keys for the motor home if we were still interested....he was told we were not !!!! read more

If I could give Zero stars I would. The worst experience we have ever had. We spend 2yrs researching buying a new camper. We thought we were getting a great deal but all we got was swindled. Throughout the entire process we discussed how much we could afford total, & what we wanted to be at for our monthly payment with a 60 month loan. They came back with numbers that worked for us and after 2 weeks of discussions we were ready to sign. After a couple of days we got a call from the bank saying that the rate we got was actually lower than what we were quoted. We thought fantastic, then we notice that the term was much higher than what we agreed upon. We then called the dealer for the next week, trying to get a hold of anybody. When we were finally able to talk to someone we were told "oh well you signed the contract." We looked over the contract before we signed but because we discussed this for weeks & thought we had a level of trust I guess we didn't look it over close enough. When we told the manager that we were called to see how our experience was we informed him that we told them it was horrible and that we would be informing Corporate. He said "That will just come back to me, so it won't matter." We bought the trailer late in the season & had it Winterized but we were packing it for next season when we realized the battery was dead. We called as it is under warranty and told that if we needed a new battery we would have to pay for it. Several phone calls later we were told to bring it in. We will see what happens. This company does not care about their customers. They are liars, thieves & gypsies! read more

Brought our Class B camper in for electrical problems. Right from the start, Rebecca, the appointment scheduler was friendly and really worked her magic to get us a service appointment for the next morning in August! Then, Anthony C. was our service rep. He was friendly, detailed and made sure he understood the problem as we knew it from the start. They we able to make some repairs, thank you Daryl. However, we needed a part. We had a pretty tight itinerary, so waiting 3 days for the part was not ideal. Daryl explained what we could and should do with the RV as it was at the moment. Then, Anthony hit it out of the park by calling all the Camping Worlds in the areas of our next stops to come. He was patient and incredibly helpful providing terrific service. This is my first review on Yelp so I read all of the other reviews here to pretty much see how it's done. I don't know if these "1 Star" reviews are valid. I had the COMPLETELY opposite experience. I found the travel trailer I bought on-line. It was here at this dealership and I live in the interior of Alaska, over 5,000 miles away! Pretty much the entire deal was done over the phone. I did have to fly down to sign all the paperwork which gave me a chance to actually see and interact with all of the different areas of the dealership. My salesperson was Brent. I connected with him after just a few minutes on the phone and he went to work putting the deal together. He was very attentive to my questions and requests. If I needed anything, he made sure he got it to me. He even worked out everything with the dealership when I made some special requests to be added to the deal. When I arrived in Buffalo, he even came out to pick me up at my hotel. At the dealership, everyone was very friendly and attentive. I was introduced to Dennis up front, Sal in the finance department, Gary in service and Dan over in the store just to name a few. This is where I doubt the "1 Star" reviews. I worked in maintenance for 29 years. EVERY shop, whether it's an RV shop, car dealership, or an appliance store where you take your broken toaster, is going to charge you a fee to determine what is wrong. Hey, the technician is on the clock doing his job. They deserve to be paid for their work! The only difference will be the shop rate that's charged at each place. When I was taken into the maintenance shop to be given a tour of my new travel trailer, I saw a very busy shop with technicians working on all sorts of rigs. I got a chance to spend about two hours with Gary who was explaining every detail of my trailer and answering all sorts of questions from me. This guy was just full of information. Clearly, he was VERY familiar with these trailers. After that, I was taken over to Sal in finance. Again, someone who was VERY familiar with what he does. He made sure everything was explained and there were no "hidden" fees or surprises. Very good guy to work with! All throughout this process, I was asking for some special concessions since I wasn't local and Dennis, as the General Manager, was right there listening and doing his best to make them happen. AWESOME! Finally, there's Dan. This guy knows his products! Buying the trailer is one thing, having all of the little things you'll need to ACTUALLY USE the trailer to travel home with it is a COMPLETELY different thing. I ran out of time the day I was there to actually spend any real time in the store. I was introduced to Dan and had a chance to briefly look through the store before it closed for the day. A few days after flying back home I decided I'd better look into what I was going to need to bring this new trailer home in the late spring. I looked on their website for the things I thought I would need and called Dan. He took down my order and I could tell he was planning this trip in his head when he started making recommendations about other things I would need or perhaps a different product that would serve me better. I know this review was long but I wanted all of you to experience what I had experienced. I hope it did. We bought our 5th wheel from Camping World in Churchville NY... now Meyers.. I guess Camping World pulled out and left? anyways... We bought a new 5th wheel camper that must had been a model and was in need of repair... which Mike Meyers crew at Camping world said they would do.. like replace the carpeting NEXT WINTER... we took it back to Camping World in October .. they winterized it and did the carpet work, so we thought... took it to our site opened it up .. only the bedroom was replaced, so back to Camping World... they told us to bring it back in the fall and they would replace the slide out carpet.. brought it back in October and waited.. and waited.. by November we spoke to Mike Myers and he said OH SORRY we are not camping world now.. we are not going to do the work... HMMMMMM... months later we were going thru some paperwork and noticed on our paperwork when we bought the trailer.. the words Myers Campers... I have bought 2 campers in the last 2 years. Spent a lot of money and have had nothing but problems with the last camper. You would think a 2017 would be issue free but no. Last year I had a flood in the camper and my wife was told when we called service, it could have been worse. Really???........we spent a lot of money on sewer and water hookup that I couldn't use. and we get that??........follow up was terrible.......Then this year, last week I take it in sewer was not working right........charged me $140 to tell me it was clogged with debris somewhere in the line. Fan over stove stopped working, light in master bedroom is not working, Toilet will not hold water. A 2017 Heartland Prowler.........awesome. Have not had it a year yet, can not wait to see what else will not work and how it won't be under warranty to check it. All you get is voice mail 90% of the time and good luck with them calling you back. If it wasn't for Sarah who sold our campers to us we would not have bought there.......she is no longer there.....coincidence???????????? NEVER AGAIN read more

Recently I bought a used travel trailer. When going thru the walk thru we noticed the rear power stabilizer jacks would not go down. Now I paid $890.00 to be sure everything worked.The man said it was a dirty switch and it was cleaned and now works . When I got it home and found it didnt work so I phoned them and they said they would look into it. Well after several (10 ) calls to Sean Haas and Ron Baker I have had no return calls. I brought in a electrician to see what the problem is and he found the motor was burnt and it was not repaired. So what im doing is filing fraud suit. I concur with the reviewers who had poor service experiences. I left a popup with a lift motor that was not working with them in March. It took them weeks to get to it, weeks to order the part, they ordered the wrong part, weeks to get the right part. All this time, I had to call them, they did not call me. When I picked it up and paid the hefty bill, I took it home and the motor failed. I dropped it off and they took until the end of the day to get to it. We are going on a trip in three days. In no way did I expect that after three months and a thousand dollars, we would be in the same condition we were in when we started. The answer I got on the phone was, parts fail, it is not our fault. I find it unlikely that it would fail after less than a minute of use if it was properly installed and tested. Even if the part failed, it is after a string of blunders and a complete lack of communication. read more

Run away from this place as fast as you can they will rip you off and lie to you ,they send campers out dirty and they don't check them out when new . we bought a new montana from them and it took over a month to get our camper. they told us the 3 times the camper was done and we would drive 80 miles to pick it up and it was not done. they charge you labor for everything they do , no matter what. we bought a wash machine from them and they put a wash machine that looked like it fell off a truck into the camper and wanted $150.00 to install it. the whole experience was a nightmare for us after spending nearly $70,000.00 for everything . we contacted corporate camping world and they just pass the buck back to the same people you had issues with , in other words they do nothing at all for you. keystone rv must not give a damn either that their rv's are being sent out dirty and not checked out, even their beloved Montana's . I currently have a different rv dealer fixing all the things they let go. I wish I had known about them I would have bought elsewhere , I do not recommend them for anything. I tell everyone that asks me about our camper what happened ,and to avoid that place at all costs. I write this to hopefully save someone else the aggravation we went through. as long as I live and they are in business I will continue to tell people to avoid doing business there. read more

I wish I read this page before I went there. I found a motorhome I wanted ,put a down payment on it to pick up a week later. We were told this unit was sold. We agreed to look at another one that was the same. When date came we were back to original one we picked. Went through with purchase, but we were missing all owners and operating manuals and second set of keys. They promised them right away. Then they couldn't seem to find them, I finally called manuf. and got my own bookwork. I then had to get my own keys. This would be expected if a used unit was bought not new one. Also since I received it it has to be jumped if sitting 4 or 5 days. Went through trying to find things on ,I came to conclusion batt . might be weak ( had to be jumped both times at dealer) and is unreliable, only had 1200 miles on it. I spent years as a truck mechanic so I know these things I made apt to have it checked, drove there and was informed it was about 67.00 to test battery. I told them I was inquiring about warranty,but he said it will cost plus any labor to remove brackets ect. He suggested a new batt. at my expense plus about 100.00 worth of work to put it in.I feel once they cashed my check I was trash to them.I will do nothing with them, won't send others there, I sent my neighbor to wilkens. read more

I ordered and paid in full for a new awning for my RV. It was supposed to arrive, according to the rep at the end of the week. It did not because they never placed the order with their vendor. At the end of the second week I was told that it would ship overnight the following Monday. I waited to call until Friday and it did not arrive and they have no idea where it is. Another week goes by And no one calls so I call again I find out it has arrived but nobody as any intention of calling me to let me know. The service rep said to drop my camper off on Friday at 8 am and it will take 1 to 2 hours to do. I showed up at 8 to have a woman tell me she can't help me and watched 4 other techs ignore me. She finally asked one to help me and right in front of me he stated he would in 10 minutes. I stood there for 1/2 an hour before a tech helped me with an attitude. Remember it should take 1 to 2 hours ascoording to them. I called back at 2:30 and was told they have other priority customers in front of me. I have been waiting 5 weeks for this awning. I think I should be a priority. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN read more
