Me and my girl purchased a Dutchman 17b brand new in 2023. It's never been used by us so we called Camping World Hamburg and was told Larry will contact us, he did. He was rude to my girl and said no way we paid 15k for the camper in 2023 and that they sell 2026's for 11k, which is a blatant lie and hung up on her. I wasn't going to post a review, until I saw the BS that was told to me was in fact BS! On the CW website was a camper I was interested in for $7200. As I pull into the parking lot for me walk through appointment, I get a call that there was a problem with unit and they couldn't sell it to me. I ask why and was told it failed the safety inspection. The very next day it's listed again for $11,499. Same unit, same stock #. And now it has a pending sale. I purchased a camper from Camping World in Hamburg, New York on April 3, 2026. It is now May 12, 2026 and Penndot has not received any information from Camping World regarding the title and license plate. Camping World has assured me repeatedly that Penndot has the paperwork, yet when I call Penndot they have no records on this camper. In addition, when I arrived home with my camper there was a rip in the awning and a bolt is missing on the trailer hitch. I have contacted Camping World repeatedly regarding repairs/replacement and absolutely no one is responding to my messages. It felt like they had no genuine interest in helping customers or making sales. It was if I was doing them a disservice being there. I bought a New Forest River RV end of June 2025, it went in for repairs of the slide and electric on July 11, 2025 and they still have it, Now Forest River is supposed to fix it. I used my NEW camper for one week and it's sitting at Camping World.... I'm making payments, paying insurance and no one gives a crap!! They should have replaced it, try to make it right?? No one seems to care!! GM Sal is a joke, you have to explain yourself every time you call and you would think they would know they have had your camper for months.. going on 6... I've only done two bad reviews in my life, and both have been for RV dealerships. My first after purchasing an RV from another dealership and second for a possible sale with Camping World Hamburg. For such expensive items, you think you would be treated better. I emailed Camping World in Hamburg, NY on a RV they had for sale and started working with Jacob. He then passed me Rick, who I started talking to for a possible purchase. Just as we began talking, he wanted me to put a deposit down because he had someone else looking and he doesn't like doing business this way, but he had to if I wanted to hold the RV. I then told him I wasn't comfortable putting a deposit down until we had some numbers, and that he could sell the RV to the other person if they were ready to purchase. The next day Rick texted me and said the deal fell through, so we started negotiating a price again. After going back and forth, we settled on a price, and Rick told me to contact Dee the sales manager to start the purchase. So, the next morning I called Dee to start the purchase, and I left her a voice mail. I then texted Rick to let him know I had contacted Dee and that I left her a message. This was at 9am Friday morning. At 4pm Friday afternoon I receive a text from Rick saying the unit has sold. I wasn't given any chance to see if I was still interested, a phone call or a chance to put a deposit down. Which I would have. I know asking for a deposit is the way they do business because they tried it with me a couple days prior. Also, Dee never returned my call. I got no other call, text, or email to see if Camping World could offer me something else. They just ended our conversation. I then emailed Rick and told him I was unhappy with how this sale was handled and wanted to speak to his supervisor. Rick responded saying he apologies and gave me his supervisors phone number. I tried calling his supervisor Salvatore Lima, but he still hasn't returned my call after 4 days. My question to Camping World and Salvatore Lima, is why his team didn't continue to work with me, ask me for a deposit, or offer me anything else after they sold the RV, I was working with them on out from under me. Camping World has now lost a customer before even gaining one. This would have been my second RV purchase in two years. I'm hooked but will now take my business elsewhere for my next RV purchase. read more

Update on my review after owning the RV for a month. DAMAGED. The $1500 prep fee they force you into paying apparently doesn't cover anything except a wash. They show you how to use everything, cool, except they never checked if the hot water tank was connected. We go camping and light the burner as they showed and about 30minutes later smell plastic melting. Come to find out the hot water tank was still shut off from when the camper was last winterized. The "prep team" never even checked, and just sent us on our way telling us the camper was all opened up and ready for the season. Now our tank insulation is damaged. Don't believe anything these people tell you. Dont buy here without expecting to get absolutely hosed in some way or another. If you consider purchasing here be prepared for classic high pressure sales tactics and thousands of dollars added on in additional fees, for literally nothing, on top of the listing price. They have told me every classic sales line and were shy about telling me the actual APR on the loan. Verdict is still out on whether I will close the deal. With the way they are trying to push me into a sale, my gut instinct says to run far away. With the revolution of online lending access and online sales I thought this type of old fashioned sales pressure was a thing of the past but I guess not. read more

We've been wanting to stop into Camping World and found this location to work in our travel schedule. We met with Chris. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. We're gathering data to possibly make a purchase of a toy hauler for our two motorcycles. Although we are not yet ready to buy he spent time with us getting to know our needs, budget, likes and dislikes. We got into the golf cart and drove out to see some of the models and really liked the 5th wheel option. The warranty, road side coverage, service options all sounded great. The store had lots of cool options for small space living and on road adventures. We are quite a distance from this location but Chris was so great that we may contact him again when we are ready to make a purchase. read more

I called this shop for a steering stabilizer upgrade and charging me around $700 for parts and $800 for labor. I called the stabilizer dealer and parts are $545 and free installation for them. I ended up installing the stabilizer myself and took me about an hour and a half. read more

We've had an issue with the grooves on our slide out on our trailer. We took it in early June and it's still there to be fixed. Supposedly they are still waiting on the parts to come in. We will never take our trailer back there. A one rating is too good for this place. read more

I am impressed by the service and the short time to get an appointment at CW Hamburg. Surprised their average stars are not higher. Had two service trips this summer. Called Monday and took a Wed. slot. My Sunseeker had roof water leakage(after last season) at front corner, thank heavens a small area. In early July I sealed it with Dicor Acrylic Coating and caulked too. The coating will protect roof a couple years, but won't help any small crack on the edge. Surprisingly, my ceiling had minor damage, and tech found a lot of moisture above the ceiling. I accepted his fix of applying self leveling caulk along the whole width, plus running heat to dry out the area above ceiling. The assessment took just an hour and new wide ribbon of caulk and a couple hours including drying time. Oh, I had the generator oil replaced too. So a 7-hour day. read more

buying my coleman rubicon from camper world has NOT been a good experience. After settling on a price I was told there was a additional $1400.00 delivery fee. A setup fee was also charged (I assumed this was to check the trailer for anything that needed cleaning, repairing and electrical problems etc. The staff brought my camper to the front and away we went. Upon arriving at home 2 hours later i realized the electric cord had never been connected to my truck. 100 miles down the thruway with no blinkers or brake lights. so on to next problem, 20 days after my purchase I had to call trailer world to ask when i would receive my statement so i could begin making payments in a timely fashion. we had a 3 way call with M and T bank. They assured me my bill was in the mail. 29 days after my purchase I drove 30 miles to the nearest M and T bank and made the payment. I still have not received a statement. The first week end we camped I plugged in the shoreline connection. We went in the trailer to turn on the lights as it was getting dark and WHAT.... no lights no refridgerator and my battery was at at 1.9 volts. But the air conditioner worked. After finding the fusebox we realized not only were 3 fuses missing but the 3 that were there were in the wrong spaces. We went out and bought the correct fuses and hope all is finally ready to go. As you tell we're not expert campers. but equipping the camper with proper fuses sounds pretty basic. We will never deal with camping world again. read more

I recently tried to buy a trailer hitch from this establishment. The sale of the hitch was no problem, a little over $200. The concern for me was how they approached the installation. They were going to charge me over $500 for it. I was, needless to say, surprised at the price. But then the made me a proposition; if I purchased a $59 Membership to the Good Sam Club, a campsite organization, I could get the installation for, wait for it, $59! I balked at what seemed to be an apparent price gouging tactic to sell a Good Sam Memberships. One employee told me, "if you don't like it, go to Buffalo RV and pay $175 an hour for installation." I found this statement to be unprofessional and unnecessary. Though annoyed, thinking he was just an angry, frustrated, man, I purchased the hitch, Good Sam Membership and the employee I was working with said it would arrive "in about a week". So, to make a long story short, two weeks later, no hitch, not even a call to update me. With that being said, I took the unprofessional employee's advice and went to Buffalo RV and paid less. Thank you, Sir! The refund process was painful, cashiers did not know how to process refund, called the Manager on the phone, wouldn't refund $59 Good Sam Membership, said I had to call them directly. What a scam! You sell it but cannot refund it. Horrible employees, unethical pushing of incentives, no follow up or customer service. Simply horrible. Stay away, you've been warned. read more

Back on August 24, 2018 I took my fifth wheel in for some warranty repairs on or about November 17,2018 I picked up my fifth wheel trailer as the repairs were finally done. I stored it for winter I now have it in my driveway to get ready for the camping season as I was going over and under it checking it over to my astonishment I found as the included picture shows the brake repairs that Camping World Buffalo made using wire nuts to secure the wires for electric brakes. I have been searching for a Honda EU 7000 generator for 8 months, in over a 300 mile radius. I was referred to Gander RV / Buffalo from a neighbor who purchased a camper there. I was instantly directed to Zach in the parts department. He was knowledgeable and very helpful. After talking to over 50 different sales people on a generator that was on backorder, he had the confidence that he could have one in about a week. I don't know how they did it, but I drove up in 9 days to pick up my generator. The store was easy to find and navigate around. Zach right away had me loaded and on my way. We bought our 2020 No Boundaries camper back in February. They didn't actually have it at this location, it was coming from elsewhere. When it got here, the large front window sustained a crack. They order new glass, fix it, then had to order more glass because after they Installed the first new window they peeled off the protective sheet and noticed that one was cracked as well. So we finally get the camper back with the new window and once we get it home, I find hundreds of tiny shards of what looked like metal to me, all over our bed which is under the window they replaced. Teeny tiny like the size of pencil shavings. Makes me think they didn't even bother to cover it when they did the window replacements. A pain to clean up But it gets worse... So we take our first trip with it about a half hour from home. We get to our destination, fill up our water tank and the water is basically for lack of a better term, peeing out of the bottom. We didn't have the low point drain cap we needed to keep the water in, so my husband had to McGuyver one out of a wine stopper and gorilla tape. We called them when we got home and they mailed us the cap, great. Now here's where the shit really hits the fan... literally. My husband goes to dump, opens the valve and shit water comes flying out at him. His explanation was that the valve wasn't fully opening, but wasn't fully closing either. This happened 2 more times on the trip we took after that. My brother in law who has been a lifelong Rv camper was there and agreed that this should not be happening. So I call to talk to Craig the service manager (mind you, it took 3 calls to actually get a hold of him). I told him that we know this is something that they should've found on their walkthrough when the camper arrived at their location. My husband has now been covered in crap 3 times and we are extremely unhappy with all these inconveniences we have experienced on a brand new camper. Craig proceeds to dismiss me by stating that these kinds of things are to be expected with a camper. Excuse me?! We've gone two places, both of which have been within an hour of home. He then transfers me to Debbie (who was awesome) who actually tried to give me some tips like putting ice down the toilet before dumping to try to break up some of the solids in the black tank, but said it sounded like it wasn't sealing correctly. If i could rate Debbie she would get 5 stars because unlike Craig, she actually offered helpful solutions, not excuses. She then offered to make us an appt to bring it up there to be looked at. Well since we live about 45 minutes away we asked if they could accommodate us by letting us drop it off on our way home from a trip in Dansville since it wouldn't be as out of the way as bringing it from home. She said she wouldn't be working Saturday aug 1, but she would transfer us over to Don. Talk to don, and he says just drop it off anytime that day. Fine. So we leave our trip (a day earlier than we were supposed to) and I know that according to their hours on google they close at 6. Well, our gps said we wouldn't get there until like 5:45 so I call Don to give him a heads up. Turns out service closes at 5. Also, he checked his book and he didn't have an "appointment" on file for us and we can't just drop the keys off like you could when your car gets serviced because there's paperwork to fill out. And they can't leave the paperwork with anyone in the sales department either, so there's that. Now he wants to book us to come back up Monday aug 3rd, and when asked if it would be fixed in time for our next camping trip (which was 2 weeks away) he said he can't guarantee that. So we said forget it. I hang up and call corporate. The guy was super nice, takes my complaints and gives me a case number and says I would hear from the case manager by Tuesday. Do you think I heard from anyone? Of course not. So now this week I guess I will have to stalk corporate to get any kind of answers or satisfaction. Meanwhile my husband watched a few YouTube videos and went in and was able to fix the problem himself. Apparently the blank tank holding valve assembly was in 2 pieces causing the cable to not be able to function correctly. Had the service dept. run water down the toilet and used the valve, they would've discovered this before we even took the camper home. I know a few people who have bought from Colton, and quite frankly it sounds like they have had better luck with customer service there. When it's time to trade in and upgrade to something bigger we will be going there, not to mention they have a location just down the street from our house, so it'll be a lot closer than driving to hamburg to be screwed around. read more

And once again i was just informed that they received the wrong parts again! Now my trailer is not going be done till some time in December! initially entered on facebook and sent to Camping World Corporate. 18/AUG/2018 Do not trust Camping World in Hamburg. Recently purchased a trailer. First visit to see what was available we found a Keystone Cougar 27 RES. It was presented with a dark color, fixed seat dinette and Jackknife sofa. We were told we could get it with a lighter color and 4 chair dinette. which was we opted for. Called a few days later and said it was in. We were not informed that it had theater seating at that time. On AUG 9th we went to finish up and were excited about it. During the walk through we did note it did not have jackknife sofa, but theater seating/recliners. It did have the dinette and color as we expected. In our excitement to have the trailer we completed the paperwork and took delivery. When we brought it home we talked about it and realized we were not informed ahead of the time about the theater seating and we both were a little disappointed that it di not have the sofa for an extra bed for a guest if needed. We called the dealer AUG 10 and asked if the seating could be changed out to a jackknife sofa. the response although polite was a simple no, but we would need to purchase the different seating and they would be able to install it. I said we were not informed ahead of time regarding the switch to theater seating and as we first saw the trailer with a jackknife sofa that was what we expected. The sales rep stated she would see what she could do and get back to us. We waited till AUG 15 th with no call or Email. I e-mailed the dealer stating voicing our disappointment again about the switched seating and not having received a call back. so here it is 3 or 4 days later with still no contact from them. I did contact Camping world by chat and was told by them you need to deal with the dealer. Obviously their main goal is simply to make a sale. I understand we had the option of not taking delivery but being excited we did not think of that. I think the fact of them not even making contact to say yea or nay to trading out the seating also speaks for the lack of customer service. We di not even go into trailer for till after we made our second contact by email after we parked it. When we finally did go in, four days after we got it home, we found that the dining room chairs and TV had not been secured as we were told they would be. Again lack of detail regarding customer service." just thought you may need to know the impression I have from dealing with one of your associates. yes they were polite but lack of cal back or email makes me very skeptical of using your business for follow up Up date Camping World corporate got back to me within 24 hours(20/AUG/2018) which I greatly appreciated. corporate gets an A in my book. They opened a file and indicated that I should hear within 48 hours. I waited till 25/AUG/2018 with no contact. Contacted corporate again. Chuck from Hamburg called on the 25/AUG/2018. Was unable to talk at that time. Was asked to call on Monday 27/AUG/2018. Chuck went into an explanation/excuse about lot numbers and inventory for 5 minutes. I finally said the bottom line answer was no and only way was for us to spend more money for what we expected in the beginning. Chuck then pointed out the fact that we did accept delivery which I acknowledged. I also again explained we were a little excited about getting the camper, was there for 90 minutes and learning about the trailer and slightly overwhelmed with everything at that time not having been given the opportunity to think about the seating and consequences of losing the sleeping surface. Chuck then started saying how when you buy a car you cannot return it. Ironically the day we picked up the trailer we had also purchased a Vehicle and the dealer informed us NYS law allowed us to return the car within 3 days to return it. When I told Chuck this he said well You cannot do that with trailers. I did tell him I would probably not return to his company for service or recommend them for anything. He did offer to have his Service manager to call back to see what sort of help he could give us. I did agree to have the call back. it is now the 30/AUG/@018 with no call back. I will keep updating Yelp and some of the camping sites on facebook Camping World is 3.5 billion dollar business run by supposed philanthropist, (Google Camping World for more info.) but if Camping world in Hamburg is representative of a company this large your best bet is to avoid them and deal with a smaller dealer where customer service may actually mean something read more

Worst experience with any business my entire life. If anyone is considering selling their camper on consignment with them, I would strongly urge you to go somewhere else. They took most of the camping season before advertising our camper then had it tucked away so far from foot traffic that no one saw it. A friend even went in asking to see a camper describing ours by year, make and model and was told they had nothing like that on the lot and he was directed to their new campers. We were charged over $1800 in repairs before we could remove the camper from their lot and they have refused to provide an itemized receipt for the work they claim they did despite multiple phone calls and promises. We wasted an entire year by doing business with them. Our camper sold quickly once it was removed from their lot. read more

I bought a used travel trailer from camping world a year ago. Salesman John Fanale was great at first but then never returned my calls. They gave us a decent amount for our trade in but by the time all was said and done with newer trailer, extended warranties I owe more on it than what I will ever be able to sell it for. The service department sucks. No one can get me the help I need. We have a permanent site and are not able to bring it in for service so they told me they will come out to us. Had an electrical issue that fried the plug coming into trailer early July. Called them and the soonest they could come out was August 28th. That same weekend our awning motor went. So August 28th came and received an email at noon that my appointment was changed to September 4th. I guess my business is not important. The 4th is tomorrow so will they show???????? I agree that once you purchase your RV you're not treated the same at all. We had a really good experience buying our RV last year but the first time we had to take it in for minor service they were rude, unorganized, and too busy to communicate with us. They literally had our camper for the entire month of July, prime camping time! If someone would have told us it would take that long we would of agreed to wait until after the season to bring it in, but it was never communicated. We live over an hour away and brought it in to drop it off after work, we called on the way in and said we were coming and there was heavy traffic, we walked in at 6:45 and they immediately rudely told us that they close at 7. We called a week after that to check progress because we had not heard from them, they had not even gone to look at it yet. Then we called a few days later and they said they had to order parts, which would take 10 days. A week later we had to call again to get an update since we had a trip planned soon and they said it would be done that week, we could pick it up Thursday. Thursday we tried to call to confirm but there was no answer, on our way out there at 5:20 we received a call that it wasn't ready they had the wrong parts. At this point it was beyond frustrating that we had to keep following up with them to request updates and were not given any information as to when it would be done, Kelly in service actually argued with us that they feel their service had been excellent. When it was finally ready, we went in to pick it up and the battery was dead from the light being left on and the running lights didn't work which were fine when we took it in.
