Once seated, we were presented with the day's menu, handwritten in Catalan on a chalkboard. The place seems to be family owned and they were very friendly. The empanadillas de atún (tuna) were outstanding, and the mussels were just as impressive. For our main course, we had the dorado -- pan seared and full of flavor. These ribs are so tender, the meat just slid off off the bone, which makes placing it on the tortillas easy. Topped with pico de gallo and a red wine reduction, these made some tasty tacos. Highly recommended. Rigatoni with Truffle and Parmesan - more buttery than creamy, if you need an Italian fix, this is a good idea. Pan Fried Sardines with a side of Catalan Tomato Bread - I can't remember if I ordered the tomato bread separately, but I used it to put the sardines on for sure and that was a winning combination. Had to remove the heads and I fought with filleting them a little, although the bones are soft and can be eaten. Fresh Sardines and Anchovies in Europe are way different than the US, and should be ordered when traveling. Shrimp and Rice - I made an assumption that this would be Spanish, and was surprised that it was an Asian Stir Fry. It was ok, but I was expecting some kind of paella. Skip it. Cheesecake - While waiting for the food we were staring at this cheesecake with a beautiful Basque burnt top to it. Turned out to be a hybrid, with more of a NY style texture. I had not been a fan of trotters, but this was absolutely delicious. The small delicate locally grown white beans that accompanied the trotters along with caramelized onions that were equally tasty. Our other selection was the fried eggs with a honey drizzle and pork sausage infused with paprika which was delicious. The olive oil drizzle on eggs, I'm going to steal. To the hard working staff, you are incredible. La Pubilla and the very talented chef, congrats! It is a very intimate restaurant with amazing food. Best meal I've had on my trip to Barcelona. Everything was delicious and made with very high quality. They gave us with a "green shot" which consisted of liquified vegetables. It was creamy and delicious! We then got the meat croquettes which was one of the best croquette I've ever had. We then had the crayfish paella and the suckling pig with pumpkin. Both were amazing! Finished it off with the Catalan cream and lemon sorbet
