After living independently his whole senior life, and playing tennis until he was 92, this has been a very unexpected transition. Where there is great leadership (Kim Springer), there is always great staff! The care team is nothing short of amazing. Everyone I have interfaced with is exceptionally helpful, compassionate care givers, and extremely attentive. If I had a concern, it was addressed. If I didn't understand, they helped. They have made this transition far less painful; because our love for my dad and been met with their compassionate care. Five star reviews are for great performers; but the knob should turn up to 10 for this team!!!

Let me start off by saying that I would NOT, in a million years, recommend this place to anyone…read moreconsidering putting their loved one into a memory care community. Sure, the exterior and interior of the building is very appealing, but don't let that fool you. My dad was officially diagnosed with vascular dementia in May of 2023 and I had to find placement for him very quickly. Despite paying $8,745/month for level 4 care, I liked what this community represented and what they had to offer (or so I thought). I know my dad was not the easiest resident to care for and he would refuse changes, medications, etc. However, when it comes to memory care communities, you'd think that ALL staff would be well trained in understanding each resident and how to tailor an approach that works for them individually. Having been a drill sergeant in the Army most of his life, he was not the type of person to be TOLD what to do. He will cooperate when approached in a way that matches his personality (which is what his new place does). Care staff at Country House did not even try to create an approach that worked for him given his military history. I would oftentimes find my dad sitting in his brief saturated with urine and feces. My dad was so unhappy at this community to the point where he was refusing to get out of my car to go back inside either when we'd come back from appointments or drives. Barb, the director of nursing, was the absolute worse person I had ever encountered in a healthcare environment and should not be in this field. She overstepped boundaries on numerous occasions and was extremely unprofessional. I caught her in lies several times when it came to my dad. One night in May 2024, I made an unannounced visit to drop something off for my dad at 11pm. When I got to his room, he was motionless in bed (as if sedated) and his personal hospital bed was raised as high as it could go and all his side rails were up (this is a form of restraint that is highly illegal). I have a video of this for proof. Barb happened to be there this particular night and claimed that she had no knowledge of this happening and blamed it on a caregiver from registry. All caregivers, CNAs, nurses, etc., know, as part of their training, that beds cannot be kept that high and definitely cannot have all side rails up. The whole situation seemed weird and it was infuriating. I know that this place did not provide proper care or have properly trained staff. Since moving my dad to a new memory care community, he has been well taken care of and is a completely different person in comparison. He is actually happy again. The care staff at his new place has tailored an approach that works specifically for him. What a difference it has made!

I have to be honest. I have meager expectations when it comes to assisted living situations. I…read morethink that we have all heard horror stories about these places before. NOT THE TERRACES OF ROSEVILLE. This location is beautiful, the staff is caring, and I have never heard anything short of loving, caring comments from the team. Don't get me wrong, a couple of staff members are aloof, but most do not have regular contact with those currently housed here. My GG is 102 and has been here for years. I firmly believe that the assistance of the Terraces Team, up to and including their stringent rules on COVID-19 visitations, made this a very safe place for all elderly loved ones. I can only hope that when I am old and gray, I will have a group of people who love their job and the people they work with so much that I am taken care of like this.

Everyone from management,…read moreto the dining staff, and even the shuttle driver have all been extremely welcoming and have made this transition easy for us. My grandpa loves the food, and there is always activities and social events happening. Everything from monthly road-trips to special music guests. They really put forth the effort to make things fun for the residents. We toured other homes, but The Terraces stood out to us because of their clear communication and transparency. They have gone above and beyond for my grandpa since day one, they even sent someone out to West Sacramento to meet with him when he was in the hospital for physical rehab. It was very stressful looking for a new home for him, but we are very happy we chose The Terraces for this new chapter of his life. They encourage him to be independent, but are still right there in case he needs assistance. Couldn't ask for more!
