This was a nightmare for anyone with food allergies. There is milk & mayonnaise in all but 3 of the sushi offerings. The labels on the buffet don't match the food beneath them. The Mongolian Grill is your best assurance of being able to control what you will be eating. But, it is essential to supervise the grill Master as he started with butter! There is gluten in all but the most naked food items. The most interesting item I found, and tasty, was the lychee jello! There are plenty of fresh fruit & salad items, but that's not what I was hoping for when I came to a Chinese restaurant. If you have no allergies, and enjoy buffet, then you will probably enjoy the Canaan Buffet. They have many offerings and the 6 other people in our group gave a 50:50 review. They all enjoyed something quite delicious and surprising. But sadly, everyone also found items they would not finish after the first bite. read more

This place is so hit or miss. But when they miss, they miss huge. It's very expensive, unless you get the lunch special. Food is soggy and flavorless. The majority of the food, when they keep it stocked, is great. Many choices, including fruit. The mongolian grill is not as good as other places, I ve tried it several times and each time it's awful. They always seem understaffed, so quite often they will run out of several of their main dishes, and leave us waiting for the next batch to come out. The service isn't very friendly, and we always have to ask for our server to refill our drinks. The decor is elaborate, I love it, but the restaurant itself could be cleaner. My husband and I eat at Canaan Buffet twice a month. It's always clean, well lit and the staff treats you like family. Provided your family treats you well. The steam tables keep the hot food hot. Everything is delicious. My husband loads up on shrimp of all kinds. I like a variety of foods. The desserts are wonderful, but we usually don't have room. The next time you're looking for a place that has something for everyone ( They have pizza, garlic bread, soups and salads as well as Asian food) try Canaan Buffet. read more

Went here for the 1st time on Sunday afternoon. Right after we got there huge groups started coming in. The place seemed to have plenty of room to accommodate all of them, so that wasn't a problem. The problem was with all the uncontrolled kids running around the restaurant!!! I was glad that I had gotten my food before they showed up, because they were grabbing food with their hands, completely loading up on the whipping cream (icky hands on the top of the can), ice cream and bumping into people. The parents seemed to be completely oblivious to their rugrats. The staff also seemed to ignore all of this. While most of the food was delicious, I was turned off after seeing how some people/kids were handling much of the food. I may come back to try this place again, but never on a Sunday. read more

The prices are ok, for me and my boyfriend at lunch it only costed $33 and that's not too bad at all for a buffet. This place absolutely sucks. I don't really frequent buffett's but I was pretty hungry one night. We ate here on a Tuesday night, there was plenty of food and a lot of seating available. The food was mostly Chinese-American. The quality of the food is cheap, from the appitizers to the sushi to the dessert. The steamed rice was sitting out so long that it was starting to get hard on the bottom of the pan. Thats what most of the food there looked like, its been sitting for over its alloted time and was just old. It wasn't fresh at all. Its not worth the $12 or $13. Hands down the worst Asian buffet I've been to.We went for late lunch,around 3.15.Two cars in parking lot should have tipped us off.The food was tasteless,lukewarm & had been sitting out since lunch i'm sure.I went to the grill bar where you can have the cook make you what you want & nobody was working it...good thing,there were bowls of raw beef,chicken & pork sitting out with no lids.Samonilla waiting for the unlucky who got it. We saw the beautiul advertisements on TV and we had appointments near there so we made a point of giving it a try. The decorations and furnishings were very nice and the service staff was good. The food was way below our expectations. We frequent other buffets across the border in Idaho and the quality of the food was much better. Things like the green salad were showing brown. A lot of the food dishes were very greasy too. When one promotes so heavily it is an opportunity to put your best foot forward to show new customers how good your restaurant is so they'll speak well of your business to their friends and come back again. This is by far the best oriental Buffett in the area. I find their Buffett items to be flavorful although overcooked at times, and some of their sushi to be rather tasty particularly for a buffet. The place looks worn & tired. Some of the booths pleather was worn clear to the cloth. It makes me wonder if the kitchen is being clean because of the neglect in the front. The stir fry grill looked extremely dirty underneath which was easily visible. The zucchini on the stir fry bar looked old. I wanted sushi only they didn't have any with just veggies. I used to like the food here. Tonight was a bad experience. Food was bland and dry. They did not have crab legs anymore. The ice cream scoops used to have running water to keep them clean, today the ice cram scoops were in gross stagnant water. I did inform a waiter about the ice cream scoops, he did not come back to tell me if they fixed it, and when I looked they did not. I've also looked at the reviews on Their Facebook site, the responder is always disrespectful to the customers who claimed a bad experience. The responder goes over a phony investigation where they state that the customer is at fault in some way. That is poor customer service. read more

My family and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. We were quite taken by the beauty of the restaurant. They have a huge koi pind,near the entrance that was clean and filled with beautiful fish. The seating area was large and well maintained and nicely decorated. The buffet was very large with an extensive offering of foods to please everyone. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Three of us visited for the first time, for lunch, as all of us enjoy oriental food. Nice entryway gave way to a sour-pussed receptionist who seemed angry when we pointed out that one of our party was a "senior", which knocked a whole half-dollar off the lunch price ($7.99 to $7.49). It's displayed clearly on the sign on the front desk. She wrote our orders, which included our drinks, on a pad, handed it to my wife, and said "Give to waitress". But it gets better: the waitress (another sour-puss) waved to us from across the room to walk over to her instead of showing us to our seating. She took the order pad and asked, "You want drinks"? Well, duh. It's right there on the paper! They were out of Pepsi, so one of our party settled for a bland root beer. Since it was buffet style, we all went to the steam tables to select, and we all noticed that the food was kept a temperature that seemed to be quite low. It was only warm, and I had my suspicions about it's production, but ate it anyway. The taste was rather bland (all dishes), and the breaded items were hard, as if saved from yesterday. Given the small number of persons eating during the lunch 'rush', this place won't be around any longer than the oriental buffet it replaced. The employees should be helpful, present with a smile, and try to be pleasant in dealing with the public, without whom they'll be on the skids in record time. While selecting items, we couldn't help but notice the filth in what I took to be the kitchen: dirty floor, food debris scattered about, cardboard food container stored on the floor, and lots of slop on the walls. Throughout the entire experience, the staff appeared to be 100% oriental, but not a smiling face or pleasant word from any of them. One of the younger ones, wearing a college sweatshirt even cut off my wife and I as we tried to get to the steam tables. No apology required, I guess. In a word, RUDE! We won't be back, and it's a shame because it's the closest oriental restaurant to our home. read more

Honestly this place is our go to buffet place- I love Asian food and even thought it's not too of the l Line sit down Asian food I feel like it is great for what it is buffet food. I always get sushi and if your lucky and the sushi chef is there she is sometimes willing to make what you want. I enjoy the grill just wish they had a little bit more variety but hey. We are talking about a buffet. Overall we call this place our go to buffet especially when we want to eat out but are on a tight budget as it is priced really fair. We've met and talk with the owners every time we go and they really are amazing people and open to suggestions. read more
