The place we planned to eat lunch at was closed. So we tried the Canal Cafe for the first time. They welcomed my wife and I and my Service Dog We sat on the lower outdoor tier next to the marina. It was a very nice day. I had a watermelon margerita, later a jalapeneo margarita, both excellent. We both had the fish tacos which were delicious and filing. Zack had one of their doggy burgers. Friendly wait staff good food and drinks, a good time

Emily D. - Canal Cafe is awesome! In fact, I'm surprised that on such a busy day, they allowed you to sit at a table and eat your ToGo. Maybe it was because of the elderly woman with you. On the chalkboard in front of the host stand, it states, " high tops and picnic tables are for cocktails and waiting, ToGo's can be enjoyed off premises" - If asking you to pick up your garbage after eating your Togo meal is treating you with disdain, I would hate to see how you treat other people. Anyway...I enjoyed my outstanding meal. The little necks were fantastic, the lobster roll was over flowing and the spicy margarita rocked. Oh and the staff, on point and friendly. Only issue was some woman making a stink about not being able to eat her Togo and being mean to everyone to get her way. Other than that, great day at Canal!

Friends brought us to this cute little restaurant on a marina. It was dark, so we couldnt appreciate the view. There is also extensive outdoor seating when it is warm. The restaurant is teeny, maybe 8 tables. Our party of 4 was accommodated by pushing two high top tables together, sparing us a long wait. Our waitress was perky. Had my first toasted lager, which was excellent. There's a regular menu of burgers, sandwiches, lobster rolls, etc.... There was also an extensive specials menu. My wife and I tried the Moroccan salmon. It was excellent- cooked perfectly on a bed of couscous with vegetables. The yogurt sauce was very tasty. Our friends had shrimp tacos and a salmon burger. They were fighting over the fries. The only minor negative is that the restaurant uses disposable plates and cutlery. What a great find! We are looking forward to dining there outdoors next spring.

Be prepared to wait for a table Our party of 4 needed to wait 30 minutes for a table.. We had a pleasant walk around the marina during our wait. The cocktails are adequate. The Grilled Tuna Sandwich was very tasty. The French Fries were crispy and quite good. The service was attentive.

My wife and I love this place. While the lobster roll isn't traditional (it's lobster salad on ciabatta) it is among the best on long island. The large is enough to fill you up without an appetizer or the fries it comes with. My wife enjoyed her steak sandwich. Beautiful views of the canal and boats even from inside tables. Friendly and attentive service. Only 2 credit cards can be used at a time for the bill.

Dinner for 2. No reservations taken. 1 hour wait for outside table, inside no wait. App bang bang shrimp deep fried w tangy sauce - ok 6 pieces. Main dishes shrimp tacos good and tuna ponzu very good. Dinks x2 each, no desert bill $150 w/o tip. It's the Hamptons in the summer!

Great dinner at the bar. Bartender was lovely. She had had a very long busy day and was very friendly and upbeat. We will certainly be back.

The fries were AMAZING and some of the best I have ever had. But most of the other dishes were pretty bleh. The better dishes were the beer battered shrimp and steamed clams. The lobster roll was a little odd being on ciabatta bread. The clam fritters were pretty terrible. We took a slice of key lime pie home and it was a little too sweet for us. We also liked the mock cocktail mojito - it was very refreshing. Re wait, we came as a party of two on a Saturday over memorial weekend around 5/5:30pm and got seated after a ten minute wait. Enjoyed that there was an outdoor dining option overlooking the bay. It was a little chilly but I bet it would be nice on a warmer day. Over all, average food but was a little disappointed with some of the dishes.

Would be 5 stars if they had more of a non-seafood selection. Food is good, service is pretty good. Need more options on menu

Onto my meal, I got the filet taco, boom shrimp taco, and the hot honey chicken. They were all so delicious and yummy, I can tell they took their time creating each taco into a masterpiece. I loved the boom shrimp the most, then the hot honey, and then the filet taco the least, but all of these were so delicious I loved it! The boom shrimp is a delicious trip into the savory tastes of shrimp and the sea. I loved the addition of tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and avocados, drizzled in ranch. The filet taco is a great feast of filet steak and crispy crunchy onions. Lastly the hot honey chicken was great with purple lettuce, corn, pickles, and more fresh delicious veggies. I loved all the tacos so much and if I come back to the area I'd definitely come back, a must go to! Service/ambiance: First off the waiters came to us quickly with a nice refreshing water pitcher with lemons. It was a nice day out but not too hot, inside was nice and cool with the ac but not too cold, a nice balance. Not too loud of a place but nice and chill with a light speaker with music playing in the background. This in my opinion is a huge upgrade to the last location in Northport, this is much bigger and it looks cleaner. Something that stood out to me was that there was no men's sign on the bathroom, but there was on the ladies. I don't know if they're discriminated or something, but that was something, but besides that the bathrooms were very squeaky clean.

When you first arrive, you can tell it's a place that primarily caters to locals, which is a nice change of pace during the summer pilgrimage of out of towners. The bar itself is relatively small, but the bar staff are quick on their delivery. For food, we shared a dozen oysters that were without a doubt fresh and reasonably priced. We had the fluke fish tacos that were some of the best fish tacos I've ever tried, as well as their seasonal special - buffalo chicken soft shell crab (soft shell crab fried like buffalo chicken nuggets, that include a side of buffalo sauce). The food was excellent! We went on a Saturday night and they had live music. The place wasn't overly crowded and it was a really great for a summer date. I definitely recommend checking out the Station Bar if you're in the area, or even taking the ride just to enjoy some fresh seafood and a couple of beers while sitting on the canal.

Any time I'm here on a busy night I'm always shocked at how one small bar (and I'm assuming tiny kitchen) manage to get everyone fed and served. I will say that depending on what kind of night you go here (especially during the summer) you're probably going to experience a bit of a wait to get a drink -- and may not even find yourself a seat for quite some time. But the crowd here is some of the nicest I've encountered. If someone sees you standing and are about to head out, they'll not only give you the heads up, but also introduce you to everyone else they were sitting around so that you feel welcomed in. A nice spot to grab a drink during sunset in the warmer months.

Oops lol It was a quiet Friday evening and Plaza Café is conveniently located near my friend's house there in South Hampton. Being off season, there has been very little traffic and people on the streets. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant when we walked in. This place is cute, private, has great good food, and service. Their menu is very small, but I was still having trouble deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner. Finally decided on the Tile fish....Yeah I know, I was like. Was told that they're like human beings because they eat just about anything in the sea. No idea if that's true or not, but I'll take it. The dish was light and full of flavor. Tried some of my friend's Salmon/Udon dish and I actually think his was the better choice. The salmon went very well with the udon. Noodles were kind of firm and juices full of flavor. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Looks like they may share it with businesses/hotel in the area. I'd eat here again.
