Not much more to say about Canard's in Oregon City since I've already written a review, but I will say this. The last few visits have been really good. My birthday isn't for another two weeks, and I'll be up in Alaska working, so we decided to do a little early celebration dinner. They surprised me with a cake, and honestly, that was a classy touch. Thanks, Canard's. I appreciated it.

How have I not known about Canard? What a gem in our city! First, the decor was lovely. I was in awe of the dried flower bouquet on that wall. I booked on OpenTable and added a note that my mother needed a wall to place her crutches against, and they gave us 2 options. Very kind of them, and the gentleman helped my mother get situated. Service was exceptional. Food menu seemed light but enough of a variety to choose from, and it all was absolutely delicious. Had the drink School for Ants which the taste was of perfection. For lunch we shared the pears and goat cheese which by far was my favorite dish. Also ordered the ricotta gnocchi which I thought the bourguignon was a little strong but I believe that's normal, so it's just my personal preference. The Tokyo hot chicken tenders were tender and juicy, and the honey and sauce paired well together. Shout out to the staff that brought our forgotten to go box to our car. My mother wants to go back, so you won us both over!

We have a great time with brunch here. Excellent service. High quality ingredients. Such a surprise to have this in Oregon City. I havent been to the downtown one but I heard this one may be better. Highly recommended. If like to come back for dinner service and that may bump to a 5 star

I can't say enough how much I enjoy this place. Their food is ALWAYS delicious! I've thoroughly enjoyed my visit each time I've come. The staff is attentive and kind. Their drinks are absolutely amazing! I got the 877 cash now (Iykyk) and it was refreshing af! I hope they keep that on the menu permanently. We had such a great Valentines Day dinner here.

Went for lunch on a rainy weekend with a couple friends. I have to say I like the overall atmosphere at this Canard to the one in PDX. More open and a bit more contemporary. My Brocoli Salad was amazing. Enough that I could only eat half. I had just one steam burger which was beyond what I had any idea. It was delicious.

We have been to Canard more times than I can count. We always look forward to trying any new dishes along with some of our standbys. Anytime someone visits from out of town we recommend Canard. The food and service are always top notch.

Service was very nice and helpful but the food was honestly very mediocre for the price. I was hoping to get steak frites but it was Salisbury steak frites. And it wasn't real Salisbury steak either. It was quite bland and chewy. Fries were decent but drowning in a layer of oil on the plate. I'm used to laurelhurst steak house so maybe my expectations have been set high. But, I wasn't impressed with the food, especially for the price.

If you're in the mood for appetizers and salads that will set the bar high, this spot absolutely delivers. The broccoli salad is a standout--crisp, fresh, and perfectly balanced with a creamy dressing that's neither too heavy nor too light. Then there's the steam burgers, which are nothing short of phenomenal. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, they provide a satisfying bite with every mouthful. The oeufs en mayonnaise is another great choice--simple, yet so delicious. And the mac and cheese? Pure comfort food at its finest, with a rich, cheesy sauce and the perfect amount of creaminess. However, when it comes to the entrees, the experience wasn't as smooth. After about an hour of waiting, we finally received our dishes. The duck frites, while flavorful, were a bit of a letdown. The duck was slightly overcooked, which made it a little dry, and it was heavy-handed with the salt. The frites, on the other hand, were crispy but could've used more seasoning to balance out the richness of the duck. Overall, the appetizers and salads are a definite win, and though the entrees left something to be desired, the great start made it a meal worth trying. The service was AMAZING, and the restaurant has a really cute vibe to it.

Been here over 5 times and always love the food. Highly recommend getting a bunch of plates to try a lot of different things. There is a lot of complexity to their flavoring of dishes. We always order at least 1-2 orders of the steam burgers. This last time we sat at the kitchen window and really enjoyed it.

This was an anniversary dinner. Service was top notch. Our server was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive without being TOO attentive. We loved her. The restaurant was surprisingly noisy, but thankfully we were given a cozy table away from the main dining area. (Hint: Ask for a cozy table when you make your reservation of you will be in the potentially LOUD main area of the restaurant.) My husband had the rabbit with mustard sauce, and although he's enjoyed rabbit before, he thought the mustard sauce was overpowering the delicate taste of the rabbit. I had the butternut squash gnocchi and I savored those tender pillows of deliciousness. We both raved about our favorite part of the meal: the crispy broccoli side (with miso ricotta and pecan chili crunch.) FANTASTIC! Those flavors worked together beautifully. I had two non alcohol drinks. The caramelized pineapple shrub and soda was delightful and refreshing. I also enjoyed the mocktail "making fetch happen." My husband had Earl Grey tea, and they kept the hot water coming. The experience was pleasant but our server really made the experience. She belongs at someplace like The Peak at Hudson Yards in NYC. They need to hang onto their fabulous staff!

    Tokyo Hot Chicken Tenders

After dining I wondered why I waited so long to try this place. We had the Tokyo Hot Chicken Tender and the Pear salad. The chicken tenders were perfectly crunchy and juicy with a delicious glaze, no dipping sauce needed. My first bite of the salad had my mouth bursting with flavor; the sauce or dressing was sooo good I basically licked the plate clean. I have to mention that I have never liked goat cheese but I ate every crumble on the salad. For our main course we tried the Gnocchi and the braised rabbit. Neither of which I have tried before and if you haven't either, I highly recommend trying them here! I was scared the rabbit would be an acquired taste but it exceeded my expectations, tender and tasty! As for the Gnocchi it was everything I ever hoped it would be. Shout out to the bartender (as pictured), he anticipated our needs and had excellent recommendations. I will be coming back and telling a friend! (Visited 11/16/25 @ 5pm)

We were visiting family in the area and had two people in our group local to the area who had been there several times in the past. We first went and checked in and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait. The hostess was very kind, took our number and sent us to the upstairs bar to wait for a table. We were greeted by a friendly bartender who took our drink orders (cocktails and wine) and we enjoyed our beverages while chatting by the bar. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with large velvet green booths, all new, updated and well done. The drinks were all great. The downstairs hostess came upstairs to let us know our table was ready, and we paid and went downstairs. So far, we were all really happy with our experience. The prices of the drinks were all around $15-20+ but we were all okay with it given the good service (thus far), high end atmosphere, etc. There were people in there but it was a pretty mellow Saturday evening. We were given a nice large area to sit and thanked the hostess. The waitress came and was clearly a little overwhelmed but took our drink orders. I mentioned a drink my husband had upstairs and asked if I could have it, but was told they had a different menu down here and I needed to order from that menu. I looked it over while the others ordered their drinks, and when she came back to me, I asked if I could go upstairs to order the drink I wanted, and bring it down. She said sure. I put in an order for a couple food items with her, and she left. My brother in law kindly offered to go upstairs and order the drink and was gone for quite a long time. We learned that when he was upstairs, he went to the bar and mentioned I wanted a drink from his bar. The bartender's mood shifted and he said he had 10 drinks ahead of my BIL, and asked him to go downstairs to order. My BIL informed him he was told the downstairs bar didn't have the ingredients, and was sent up here. The bartender was annoyed and asked my BIL to go downstairs for 10 minutes and come back again to order. My BIL replied that he was happy to wait at the bar instead and took a seat. After a long while, the bartender curtly said that my BIL would have to pay for the drink up here, which my BIL of course agreed to. My BIL said it was very uncomfortable and the bartender was being rude (a couple sitting at the bar also mentioned this). We are guessing he was overwhelmed and didn't handle it well. He brought the drink downstairs, no problem. We were all sitting for a while and noticed that my BIL never received the beer he ordered from the waitress downstairs. And after about 45 minutes I asked about the food I had ordered (she hadn't checked in with us at all during that time, and I should mention it was not busy at all - several tables open). The waitress said she forgot to put it in. That was it. No offer to quickly put it in, no offer to comp a drink, no real apology. We asked for the bill and split it between two cards. When we got the receipts and cards back, my husband found they had given both him and his brother (the other payer) copies of my husband's receipt-so he assumed he was double charged. He went to the front to bring this to their attention and explained how he was upset by the poor service throughout the evening. He received a quick response that they had printed the receipt twice (didn't charge twice) and were short staffed that evening. We are all understanding people and my sister in law ran restaurants for years, we all had food service jobs and are sympathetic but really just disappointed in this place. I'm writing this review because the employees there just didn't seem to care about the issues we raised. They had an acoustic artist playing that evening who was phenomenal. If you go there on a different day with different staff, I'm sure you'd have a great time. But for the price and ambiance, we really expected better service.

Our food was NOT great let alone, ok! I ordered the shrimp scampi/risotto dish. It came with a side of garlic bread. My husband ordered the lemon capered chicken and my daughter the smash burger. My food and my husband's food tasted like I was eating CREAM OF SALT with garlic and the bread was even more salty. He was starving and just ate it, I only got through about half. It was so salty. My daughter said her burger was dry and tasted weird. She didn't finish it. Her fries were good. We didn't complain. We were hungry and uncomfortable being squished up like that. I just wanted to be done with the whole experience. I won't say that I'll never be back. I understand that chefs and restaurants staff are human and mistake like over salting a dish can happen. Prior to this past weekend, hadn't had a problem with food, staff or seating. However, I do hope someone in management/ownership sees my review so improvements/changes can be made. I stopped in recently to pick up a to-go order and ended up sitting at the bar for a drink while I waited. I was greeted right away when I sat down and given a food menu. The place was completely slammed, but the two bartenders were absolutely dialed in. They were mixing signature cocktails, pouring wine, draft beer, and spirits nonstop while still checking in with guests. Watching them work was impressive -- the focus and efficiency looked more like professional mixologists than typical bartenders. The space itself has a great vibe. You enter from the 8th Street door and it feels like stepping into a hidden basement speakeasy. The interior is dimly lit with a huge illuminated whiskey wall. The bar is centered in the room with booths along the outside, making it a really cool date-night spot. While waiting for my food I ordered a Fort George City of Dreams Hazy IPA, which was cold and fantastic. As soon as I saw the cocktail menu though, I immediately regretted not ordering one of their house drinks -- the 8th Street Margarita looked especially good. I also noticed that all the whiskey drinks coming out had these beautiful crystal-clear 3" ice cubes, which is a great touch and shows they take their cocktails seriously. I originally came in because I've been ordering the Buffalo Mac & Cheese from their food cart about once a month for the last few years. Their Oregon City cart recently closed, so this was my first time getting it from the bar. My to-go order took about 30 minutes, which was totally understandable given how busy the place was. The staff stayed friendly and attentive the whole time. The Buffalo Mac & Cheese was still very tasty. The macaroni was great with a creamy cheese sauce and good buffalo flavor throughout. The chicken tasted like it may have been frozen at some point and was a little chewy compared to the crunchier chicken I remember from the food cart version, but overall the dish was still really good and something I'll definitely order again. Great atmosphere, skilled bartenders, solid food, and a really unique whiskey-bar vibe in Oregon City. Next time I come back I'm definitely sitting down and ordering one of those cocktails. Tip: Sit at the bar if you can -- watching the bartenders craft the drinks is half the experience.
