They sell lots of cheap Indian snacks. Veg, Chicken & Mutton samosas were ok. Their flavour profiles were similar - curry - but the meat ones had palpable amounts of meat inside (given that they are more expensive, this is expected). The cheese & spinach samoas were good. They come in sets of 5 & can't be ordered singly like the rest. They had a good cheese taste & seemed to be all spinach & cheese (no filler). They were not spicy. Sweet onion roll was good. The filling was slightly cut with extra folds of dough inside, though it was still tasty. Fish Cutlet was ok. It had a peppery taste & was a bit too peppery. At least that gave it a different flavour profile from the samosas. Mango lassi was cheap but very thin, with a weak mango flavour. While they have value combos (4 samosa or 2 rolls with mango lassi), not just is there no flexibility (e.g. you can't get 2 samosas & 1 roll), they cost more than ordering the items individually. Go figure.

Canbe is the type of establishment I would like to frequent but I know I can't because I simply cannot afford the... calories. This place rocks because they sell veggie samosas for a quarter. Other varieties of samosas are also available but they cost more cash money. I'm talking about an extra $0.25-$0.50!! Deep fried mutton and chicken rolls are $0.70 each and its deep fried goodness makes me so, so happy. Butter chicken and chicken kottu roti are also fail-safe options. Still don't know what to get? How about a roti? Or better yet, befriend the hoards of people in line and ask for their opinion because you know a place is legit when you're the only non-East Indian/Sri Lankan person in a line that is sometimes 30 deep. Oh yeah, the line moves ultra fast and people will try to cut you in line and pretend they didn't know you were there. Yeah right, buddy. P.S. Take-out only. No seats @ Canbe.

Samosas. Roti Paratha. That's all you need to know. Sooo good. They've got plenty of fried and baked snacks. As well as, rice dishes and curries. Make yourself a cup of Masala Chai and enjoy your Parathas and Samosas. Perfect on a cold winters day. There is no seating here, it's primarily a take out place. Employees are quick, not the friendliest though. Just grab your goodies and go. Love the prices. Parking available.

I was on my way to get some cupcakes at So into Cupcakes and then I saw the Sign... yes a sign saying "Spicefully Yours". Cheesy slogans and store names seems to be the headline for this afternoon.. I should have come by Canbe Foods a year ago... (yay! Yelp Friend I hear you!) but you know being a procrastinator I am guilty... but it is never too late. Chicken Biryani ($6) is like a full lunchbox with content just expose everywhere when I started eating that. Can I complain that it was too much? Are they purposely trying to make me fat? I ate half and saved the rest for lunch the next day. Be careful of all the spices they use... It is not hot spicy.. just spicy with a lot of different kind of spices used in the preparation. And you might end up burping everywhere. Maybe I will try their Roti Paratha which they claim is "Best In Town" next time!

    Vegetable samosa ($1 for 4)

Super cheap SriLankan food! My family has frequented this place for years so we've seen the changes in service and quality over the years. Although the quality and spiciness of the food has gone down over time, we still love this place for the fast service and cheap prices. The vegetable samosas are a must try ($1 for 4) and another favourite of ours is the spinach and cheese samosas ($1 for 5). The lamb briyani is cheap and they PACK that box to the top. But be warned, it's very oily and spicy.

Firstly I waited exactly 35 minutes for 1 mutton kothu. The service was very poor and when they finally gave me my order, they just gave me the kothu without any utensils or napkins. The kothu was a 3/5 and with the wait it loses a point 2/5. It was suppose to be extra meat and gravy (which they really didn't stick too) There are way better Sri Lankan/Indian joints in Scarborough for service and food. I'm honestly being nice with 2 stars!

This place sucks. Food is cold and extra salty. I got the chicken shrimp fried rice, butter chicken, chilli chicken. Food was so cold and tasted like left overs. Guys if you like extra salty and cold food this is for you. I would not come back.

    Free treats! Tasty food!

I ordered their Chiken Biryani Combo thru DoorDash & I added a special instruction saying "don't include the dipping sauce anymore bcz I like their food by itself" and they gave me free treats, they even wrote me a short letter! How sweet! Thank you! Will definitely order again.

Chicken briyani! They REALLY packed it in today, the box was crazy heavy

Delicious food at great affordable prices! I always get the chicken briyani (a super packed large take out box for under $10!) or the chicken koththu roti. If you can't eat that spicy (like me) ask for no spice for the kothu; it still made my tongue burn but certainly not as much if the chef didn't hold back on the spices! Sometimes I add in 4 samosas for only $1 extra, and they're not the fried kind which is a bonus as I find these baked (?) ones much yummier. It's a take out place, no seats for dining in but for the price and quality of food I'm more than willing to make the drive over and drive home.

Combo #2. Butter chicken, cabbage and noodles.

We also tried that hot chai and it was the best. May be chai is one of the few reasons this restaurant manages to get customers inside its doors amongst heavy competition.

The rice to meat ratio is wild! I was actually missing some rice haha for the first time, I wish there was more rice because they are very generous with meat portions Haryali Chicken - I thought this was a BBQ dish but it was a gravy dish which was well made. The flavour notes were mint, cilantro and cream. So great! I've never had Haryali Chicken in a gravy style dish. Mutton Haleem - we liked this as well. It's not as stringy as some other places. You can definitely taste the mutton flavour here! Naan - can't go wrong with naan! It's super fresh, fluffyyyy and hot! While we waited for our order, I chatted briefly with the owner. He was really nice. He even offered us some Irani Chai, a welcome treat in the cold winter. We waited outside while drinking hot chai sweetened with condense milk (yum!!). He didn't let us pay for the chai which was a very kind gesture! COVID: Masks on for guests and staff are being a glass/plastic barrier, no masks on staff.

You can get place a large samosa order the same day. - This eatery is on DoorDash, Skip the Dishes, and Uber Eats. On Saturday, I dropped by Samosa Fusion to check out its all-day buffet. We were a fairly large group of twelve hungry folks wanting a brunch feast! Staff were busy getting all hot foods to the buffet, so we had to wait a while before we could dive in. Staff were extremely hard-working. There were a few details that could use some improvement. We didn't get any water while we waited for the food to be set up at the buffet. I was getting thirsty and asked for water. I got a glass and the owner apologized. We then got pitchers of water throughout our meal, which was much needed! The buffet has a lot of good eats. It's decently priced for what you get. The carvery had tandoori chicken stuff with biryani. It also had devilled eggs and what looked like chicken stuffed with greens that I never got around to trying. I went for the curries: - Goat - Butter chicken - Aloo matar - Chana masala The last three were fantastic. They were flavourful and yummy. The goat was tender, but it was extremely gamey. I got biryani and veggie chow mein. The former was an excellent base for the curries. The latter was a nice change-up option. The chow mein was delicious. I got cucumber and tomato slices. They were refreshing. There were also sliced carrots and more in a tray. I ended up getting one of the passion salad bowls. The potatoes, peas, pineapple chunks, green beans, and more were so good. I wish that the buffet had more fruit. Pineapple was the only fruit in the salad and in the pineapple raita. The latter was nice, but the pineapple chunks were small. I am a fruit person, so it may have been fine for someone who isn't as enthusiastic about fruit as I am. I got a samosa. It was huge! It was stuffed with a lot of potatoes. I enjoyed it. As an aside, HK Garden next door and Samosa Fusion are owned by the same folks. The same samosas are available at both locations. If you need samosas for a catering event, staff can do it the same day. I asked whether they needed a day's notice. Nope, they made 500 for hungry Home Depot employees in a couple of hours or so. Wow! We also got naan. It was hot and perfect with the curries. There were a couple of dessert items. I am always a fan of pudding. The bread butter pudding was superb. The chopped almonds provided a nice contrast to the yummy pudding. I am fortunate to not have any nut allergies. However, a note about nuts would be helpful to those with severe nut allergies. I did appreciate that staff labelled the names of everything at the buffet. It's located in a fairly busy plaza. On a Saturday afternoon, I got a parking spot fairly close to the restaurant. This eatery is on Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, and DoorDash. It's good to know. I had a good time here with friends. I'd return for more good eats. (122)
