We went through the drive-thru at Cancun Restaurant and waited about 6 minutes. The food was delicious, and the prices were fair. The attendant was attentive, listened carefully, and treated us well. Sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant any longer after 5 years of patronage. For food, thumbs up. For service consistently big thumbs down. In this case it is because the cashier in charge that day is related to the manager on duty? (Which she is) On August 4, 2021 I called in (as is my practice) to pre-order a breakfast for my Mom & I. I was asked to wait and did so .....for FOURTEEN minutes .and they never returned! I was on hold 14 minutes & heard staff laughing, talking, and carrying on. My only choice was to go in & order wasting even more time. I wouldn't have at all, but my Mom who recently lost her daughter days before is 'hooked' on their taquitos... Still on hold, I walked in fully expecting to see a line or some reason. The restaurant had less than 20 patrons dining and nobody checking out. The head cashier (who is related to the manager) and a group of her co-workers were gathered around the cashier area laughing, talking (of course) in Spanish, and carrying on in a most unprofessional manner. Frankly, they appeared and acted drunk. I've never seen Debbonai (sp?) in five years act this way! I stated my complaint showing the time to Debonney, the manager's wife & head cashier, who, in a most flippant tone, "apologized" and then started to continue to carry on with her friends..in Spanish of course though she speaks clear English. I repeated my complaint & she said in a very rude, angry tone, "I apologized!" That is not a sincere manner to deliver an apology. ONLY because my grieving Mom did I place the order still. I also ordered my usual chimichanga ala carte, she made put on a big show in front of the other co-workers (still milling near the register) of pretending not to know how to price it (remember I've ordered this several times before with her over the years). Such rudeness!! Not to mention the 14 minutes phoning in wait time for the takeout order! She seemed to think that her insincere apology submitted to me while she was laughing & chumming with her co-workers (in Spanish) was sufficient which it wasn't because she while "serving" me, certainly not my concerns in a professional manner. I cancelled my part of the order. I wish I would have cancelled the taquito, but I knew my Mom was craving one, so did not. I went to Taqueria Jalisco and ordered my chimichanga there, where I intend to buy Mexican food from this point forward. Since she is the wife of the manager at Yorktown, I wanted to talk to the Owner of Cancun Restaurant that same day at their Alameda location, I was told they "don't bother anymore to call customers back". I didn't want managers to handle my concerns, because when there have been especially time-related complaints before (at the Yorktown location) they have not resolved the problems. And frankly, they are related to some of the workers there. Indeed, one week prior to August 4, 2021 a good friend and I dined inside and received poor service because the waiter couldn't understand English --- she had to muddle through giving our order in her broken Spanish. Our orders were late in being served and incorrectly made. We didn't get even get the basics: silverware, napkins, etc --until I finally got up myself and got napkins because he completely disappeared after serving us -- again, a time when it was not busy. Another time, my ill sister, Mom and I dined in and watched (again) as Hispanic customers were served their food by our waitress who came in and ordered several minutes after our arrival. Theirs was a larger table also. The food is amazing, but frankly the service at the Yorktown location leaves too much to be desired. My family refuses to dine indoors because our experiences before of consistently having Hispanic customers be served who order after us ... To the Owners/Management: My friends, fellow teachers, friends, and family will know of this uncaring attitude from the Owner & managers who never called me back to solve this last problem appropriately. Many will out of loyalty to me, not return. Message received for now is despite our years as your customers is less valuable than your staff's unprofessionalism and a nepotism undermines your business.. This I know because I'm sure you "heard" their version & to date have not bothered to call me as a long standing, concerned customer to hear why I tried to talk to you hoping minimally for fairness. Clearly our years of referring friends & family to you and ONLY coming to your restaurant for your taquitos and other dishes is worthless to you. Message received. read more

on my way home from work, I stopped in their drive thru to pick up dinner. 2 ceviche tostadas and a margarita was $25, but whatever, no big deal. I get home & the ceviche that should be cooked in citrus is clearly boiled shrimp they chopped up and threw some avocado on top. There was no lime flavor, no pic, nothing. If you don't have it made that day, just let the customer know. Don't try and dupe them with crummy food. Just be honest & keep loyal customers. I'm very disappointed & wont be back. read more

I've been inside pre-Covid. All was well. My daughter needed to bring breakfast for the STAAR test so they made me potato and egg tacos late at night when I couldn't get them anywhere. Very sweet people there. When there's a long line outside they come out to hand you the food and take payment so it's quicker than waiting. I like that . Customer service was awful, we ordered a total of 6 tacos two being potato egg with bacon and we were brought only 5 tacos one being some kind of sausage, when I told the server she took the taco order again took it to the back and brought the same taco out about 2 minutes later without saying anything it took the manager/owner to come ask if we needed anything for us to get our order right and our drinks refilled, we then tried to get the check and were ignored again, ended up just walking up to the cashier to pay the bill. The two idiots behind the cash register gave me attitude when I went to pick up an order. I don't know if they were having a bromance but one guy started giving me lip in order to show off to another guy. Not sure if he was trying to be "the man" but I told him to cancel my order and asked him "whatever happened to the customer being right..." I don't think the dumbass got it. So far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Corpus. I tried the pastor meal. Good pork flavor with fresh guac, beans and pico. This place was packed for Monday lunch and drive through was five cars deep. My family used to enjoy going here until we had an issue with my food. I ordered verde enchiladas and asked for a side of sour cream. When the sour cream arrived I started to spread it all over my food only to notice there were chunks of food from a previous customers meal mixed in it. Went for the sake of trying a different Mex restaurant. The place was moderately busy, clean and didn't have music blasting loudly. Good start. What went wrong was both my flautas and wife's carne guisada just had odd flavors to our palates. We both like Mex food but starting with the salsa not tasting homemade to the seeming conflicting spices in the dishes, we both decided that's enough to keep us from coming back. We'd had an experience at one of the other Cancun's that took that one off our list too. We had hopes for a surprise, just not a bad one. Cancun Restaurant has been the norm for my family. Because of the Pandemic we have been eating primarily take out. Cancun has never disappointed us. Their menudo is the best in town. Whenever I call in an order the staff never fails me. I'm treated with respect and always feel welcomed by the waitresses and the young ladies working the register. There is pretty much always a long line and the service is pretty slow that's cause they usually have someone outside taking orders and it still moves at snail speed. Unfortunately this restaurant was terrible. I ordered a Special of the day. Which was a Mexican plate rice and beans were cold. Enchiladas just warm. Cheese wasnt even stringy like it should have been, because it wasn't hot. Waitress dropped off food and never saw her again. They need lessons on how to serve. Proper etiquette is to go back 5 minutes after dropping off food to see if there were any problems with your plate and to see if you need anything else. I still tipped, even though she didn't deserve a tip. Will never return to Cancun. read more

This is me and my families favorite neighborhood spot. The food is consistently delicious and the service has always been great. Their Mexican taquitos, taco salad, and fajitas are common orders. They have delicious salsa (I love the green one). They have a good happy hour and also a drive thru. I would recommend just going in though, the drive thru is usually busy.
