Always good food and great service. I think for me this place is a favorite of mine above other Mexican restaurants in the south side.

Stopped by to eat with my husband, ordered the quesadilla plate. Took a bite and there was a white hair . The "person in charge" she was a lady with black hair came by and said that no one in the kitchen had white hair which was irrelevant. She then said that we had to pay for one quesadilla, the quesadilla that had the hair in it!! I will never stop there again. Management has no customer service skills. I do want to say that the waitress was amazing, she even knew that the lady was being unfair. No more Hacienda Vieja for our family . Pass this on. Was looking for a new to me local Tex-Mex restaurant and this place is now among my favorite places. Excellent chips, salsa, queso, home made flour tortillas. Had the Carne Guisada. Be careful with their specials. I explained how I am better than cancer.And it's advice not to eat pasta and rice. I ordered this special , which consisted of enchiladas with rice and beans... I opted for charro beans instead of refried beans. My friend did the same. Therefore we lost the special. What I am disappointed is that they did not mention it until I received the ticket. From their birthday celebrations to take-out, they give patrons a great sample of some of the best Corpus has to offer--at an affordable price. The photo looks just like the food, so pick and point at the menu and you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality. Of note: check out the special on the board out front and you might save a couple of bucks. Take it from someone who appreciates borderlands Mexican cuisine, their food is great--both for a Saturday celebration or a Tuesday night (at-home) dinner. I go here very often, more than I like to admit. I've lived in San Antonio and I feel like this is the closest to some of my fav places in SA. Hacienda is where I take family visiting from out of town. I think it is the best here. Especially for breakfast but I've had really good food for dinner too. They are so fast! There's not usually a long wait in the drive through ever. Their breakfast tacos are legit. Good coffee. Just the best all around. If I had to critique them, I would agree that music would be good. I remember when this place was a Bill Millers when I was younger and now that I'm back me and my family wanted to see how good this Mexican resturaunt was, so we decided to try it out. The parking is vast that wraps all around the business. Once we walked in, we had to seat ourselves and there was no one that assisted us. Once we sat down, we had a server walk up to us and give us menus. The ambiance was nice and they had good cleanliness but it was very quite. I feel like they should have some music playing so that it isn't too awkward with silence. The main thing that was negative about this place was the service. The servers were very quite and seemed miserable. No one seemed happy at all and our personal server seemed like she didn't want to serve us at all. The food was decent though. I ordered the Botana Hacienda, my sister ordered the Pechuga Pablano, and my girlfriend ordered the Louisiana Plate. The food was good, and a decent price but like I stated before the service was bad. After, we got up to pay and I went to the cash register and once the cashier was ringing everything up , I asked if they had military discount. The man just ignored me and then just told me the total. Overall the food was good but the service is the reason I will not be coming back here. It's been quite a while since I've been to this restaurant. I enjoyed that visit and decided to come back again. The restaurant is typical of this type of food establishment. Once you arrive, you find a table that is available and seat yourself and you wait until a server comes to your table. Our wait was not long, maybe about two minutes. The restaurant was maybe less than half full. Parking was easy and there were no issues there. I ordered the beef fajita torta with a side of fries and my sister ordered the fajita plate. The torta looked delicious, but it was quite underwhelming. While it was not bad, it seemed to lack flavor. The fajita meat was ever so slightly seasoned that it almost had no taste. The fries also had zero seasoning, not even any salt. My sister reported that her fajitas were ok, nothing to write home about. She told me that her rice was also cold, so there was some disappointment there as well. The waiter service was ok, but not service that I would consider to be anything above and beyond. One thing to note is the quality of the napkins at the table in the dispenser. They were quite cheap and I had to keep using more to clean my hands as the torta sandwich fell apart while I ate it. Overall, the food could use some extra flavor as it seemed to lack any at all. It will probably be a while before I come back and hopefully by that time, the food quality will improve. read more

Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the chilaquiles, she ordered the migas. We were both pleased with out meals. The chilaquiles had tortillas cut into 1 inch squares and were generously coated with a flavorful red sauce and smothered in cheese. The beef fajita was tender and tasty. Very filling. This place was bad, straight bad. Everything was obviously frozen and microwaved. Boxed, bagged, store bought. Not the good kind, not even decent. I couldn't eat it, it wasn't edible. Almost threw up at the sight. The smell was horrendous too. You can take my word because I'm a foodie, Mexican is my favorite cuisine. And I live in a Hispanic household and get authentic food almost everyday. This was not it. I have never experienced a bad restaurant before and it's sad that this one was the one to break that record. I had hope for this place but was highly disappointed. My husband and I have been searching for some decent Texmex in Corpus Christi and finally found this place. It checked a lot of boxes for us. Their salsa is spicy, they have beer and margarita, queso and the shrimp Cocktail are good. I ordered the enchilada rancheros which had good flavor. What I really loved was the spicy green salsa that came out with the food. My favorite places in South TX have some sort of spicy green Cremosa salsa. We only do drive thru, so I can't comment on the inside. For 5 years we've gotten drive thru here 3-5 times per month. We get the exact same order every time. Pricing has always varied within a dollar or two but recently has taken a dramatic turn. When the male drive thru attendant is working, the price may jump as much as $10. I'm assuming he's giving himself a tip on our order but you'll never get an itemized receipt to know. Even worse, the past 5 times in a row, something major has been missing from the order, even when I specifically ask is it in the bag. If you do go here, even though the bag is tied up take the time to untie it and ensure everything is there before you get home. I'll be taking a 6 month break or so until he's fired or quits and then we will try it again. read more

My second time here since yesterday...gotta say the shrimp cocktails are on point..rim is dressed with squeezable lime, lemon, orange, and fresh celery stick with cucumber. I was trying to find a spot for a delicious meal during my rare break and found this place on my radar, so I read some reviews and decided to try it out. FOOD: Food was ready very quickly and the workers were very friendly. I ordered a plate of fajitas for three and I was definitely not disappointed. It was very delicious and the LARGEST quantity I've ever seen. I for sure will be going back to try the rest of their menu. ATMOSPHERE: I was impressed by how homey this place felt! The food was amazing, although some of my family complained that the potato's and tortillas were a bit cold. Our waiter was extremely nice and patient even with my aunt who had trouble hearing him. Straight rude customer service first i try calling to place an order togo and get hung up on. Then I walk in and the girl at the counter with hazel eyes, hooped earrings and bird tattoos on her forearm straight ignored me for a whole 5 mins just standing there, as another employee ( luis) comes to ask her what i needed she proceeds to speak spanish assuming i didn't know what she was saying being rude. This place used to be great. Keywords Used To. Now they charge you for every little thing when before they never did. I do not mean like adding extra, but if you substitute something instead now its a charge. Since the pandemic they have no specials. None what so ever. If other companies are doing specials to invite their customers in why are they not doing that? Not saying give it away for free but the normal daily specials. The food was cold, I ordered a Parradilla (I think that's how you spell it) and the skillet was Not hot at all. I mean as soon as I ordered my food was out in 5 minutes, which tells me that it was just sitting. The waiter was not friendly and was bewildered at the fact that I asked to watch the Astros on TV.
