The skinny Margherita is the bomb! The staff was so friendly and helpful with suggestions. We went tonight, Tuesday, and the place was hopping. Great portion sizes and oh so tasty! The mango habanero sauce that comes with the pineapple dish was beautiful! We even got an extra 4oz container to go! We will definitely be back!

The service was amazing, he was friendly, smiled, and was honest. He was knowledgeable and shared some recommendations as well. Water and margarita came quick. The margarita was overall good but a bit heavy in the sweet and sour, but still decent. We got the chile con queso with beef and it was good; borderline salty but well seasoned. I got the poblano shrimp and it was excellent - large portions. My husband got the Mexican plate and it was good - large portions as well. The tortillas are house made, along with the sauce. I would have preferred the flour tortillas to be a bit fluffier, but still good. We had leftovers because of the portions. Decor was nice. 3 out of 4 TVs were dim/off color, but I didn't mind because I wasn't there to watch TV.

Decided to visit this tiny restaurant in person on a weary Wednesday night. It's small inside, about 18 tables, very clean with TVs in every corner. The menu is huge and our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered a soft fajita taco plate and a picadillo taco salad. The servings were enormous! Lots to take home for lunch the next day. The fajita chicken could've used more seasoning and the beans seemed cold but otherwise tasty and more than we could comfortably eat. Total for two entrees and two teas was $33.41 before tip. We will be back!

The food was Good! The service was Okay and the ambience was really nice, looks a lot more modern than other places around. What took me off guard was the pricing for the portioning you get. Super small portions. Nonetheless, pretty good food if you have the cash to spend. Sweet tea was good and fresh (i'm a sweet tea critique).

My previous review from a few years ago still stands. Staff is still friendly, service is still timely, and the food is still flavorful!

Great little Mexican grill. The San Jose burrito was very good & the Poblano Enchiladas were too.

The food was fresh and delicious! It was easy to get a table and the server was attentive. We had the chicken flautas and the ribeye mini tacos. The flautas were hot and crispy while the chicken was flavorful and moist. The tacos came with 5, so you won't leave hungry! The ambiance was casual and medium noise level. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would come back again.

One of the better Tex-Mex taquerias in Corpus. Good food. Great people. Exceptional service!

This place has reliably good Mexican food. It doesn't necessarily wow you so much so that you neeeed to go back and recommend it to everyone you know, but if you go you won't be disappointed. The chilaquiles we're solid, the chips seemed homemade (or at least not from the grocery store). We also got tacos, and each that i tried was good. I remember them having a decent amount in each, too, so that probably two would be enough to satisfy someone. If you're in town and want to get some Mexican food, stop by! They have a drive through, too :)

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. But this was truly disappointing.

Right from the jump, our friendly server brought us complimentary chips with salsa and two sauces. All were delicious and a perfect holdover as we dove into the menu. I am finding that 5 pm is "early" in Corpus and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but started to pick up by the time we left. For us, we didn't mind at all as service was attentive and speedy due to the emptiness. We ended up kicking off with drinks in the form of a paloma and a desert rose (I never pass up an opportunity for mezcal) and both were perfectly balanced in flavors. To eat, we shared small dishes including the Tex Mex BBQ oysters, tuna tostadas, and side cheese enchiladas. All three were 10/10 in their own way! The oysters (which I usually prefer raw) had such a deep and developed flavor I could have eaten 12 on my own. The tostadas - a fresh and bright bite welcomed in the heat of the summer. The cheese enchiladas? Simple, but executed perfectly! They were reminiscent of a local place I used to frequent when I was a kid, and have ever since compared all enchiladas to. Rarely do I find a good match, but to my surprise El Camino delivered. As with other businesses in the area, expect to find street parking and to take a bit of a stroll (absolutely worth it when you pop into other places along the way and make an event of it). Once you enter the doors, you are transported into a completely different atmosphere where you no longer feel you are in downtown corpus. The decor is fun and bright, yet welcoming and warm and there is plenty to look at! I look forward to returning to try more!

I'm not a professional food critic, but I do know seasoning, regional Mexican flavors, and what well‑prepared food should taste like -- and this just wasn't it for us. The restaurant didn't feel well-kept, and it appeared that only one server and one cook were working, plus we and another couple were the only ones there. We were served chips and salsa to start. The salsa, a taquera‑style orange sauce, was actually the best part of the meal. The chips, however, were extremely hard, not fresh, and definitely not warm. They looked house‑made, but whatever they were fried in made them almost inedible. I ordered the ribeye street tacos, and the steak was overcooked, had an odd taste, and wasn't enjoyable. I asked for extra cilantro and onions, which didn't happen, and the chimichurri they brought out was basically oil with a few seasonings floating in it. I almost complimented the Dr Pepper because it had a unique sweetness -- until I realized why. The red glass had visible staining on the inside. When I wiped the rim with my napkin, it came off dirty. They also don't offer straws, so whatever residue was in that glass is what you end up drinking. Between the food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the overall condition of the restaurant, this was a no for us. How this place has earned such high mentions is honestly beyond me.
