This time around my sister and brother in law and thier kids also came along for the first time. Becky the property manager greeted us as we arrived at our 4pm check-in. She explained everything in detail and walked us through the cabin and made us feel very welcomed. The unique one story cabins are arranged in a horseshoe configuration and are named according to their theme, and in the middle a beautiful courtyard is shared with gueats. We actually stayed in their latest newly remodeled two story cabin called The Marlin. It's located right next to the main property. At night it's very safely lit and your vechicals are parked under the structure. It sleeps 10 with two full baths and all the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable. It has a second story large balcony and a small third story balcony as well. Access to the beach is at walking distance or a short drive. After hurricane Harvey the cabins sustained damage and there was even a waterline marker when the storm surge came in. After alot of hard work and tireless vollenteers the newly remodeled cabins are better than ever. Becky was even kind enough to show us inside The Rock and Roll cabin and the remarkable improvements they made. The Dancing Dunes is highly recommend which ever cabin you stay in. I know they have recently been bought out. A few changes, no longer garage pickup or clean towels. That's not such a big deal but no coffee maker in the cabin and in all the years in the past: the security-cleaning deposit was given back into your account. Was informed today( after I had to call) that that was now included in your stay. That should have been made clear up front upon booking. We make it a diligent habit of thoroughly cleaning our cabin before we leave. Between no coffee maker and the other little perks, we were short changed in our stay this year. I have always taken your business cards and also word of mouth to promote this resort but I now have to think twice. Just not the same as before.

The owners were so sweet and gracious! We spent the first night in the downstairs master. The bed was huge and comfy! I was thrilled to see that the ac in the house was powered by window ac units! I could die, I love love love Window units! I always sleep so well in rooms that have them. The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. On our second night we moved to a room upstairs, this room was considerably smaller but still really comfortable and nice. We had a great nights sleep, and we awoke to a amazing breakfast! They served us coffee, juice, a beautiful fruit bowl and eggs Benedict. Now, y'all know I am picky about my eggs! These eggs were poached to perfection. Breakfast service was elegant and a feast for our taste buds. One of the owners gave us a detailed history of the area and of the house while we ate our beautiful breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Angel Rose , we will visit again soon. As of now, they are making plans to continue the restoration and to make several upgrades. They are in talks to add an elevator, two extra suites and a sunroom. Upon arrival we asked about any ghost or haunting stories, the owner informed us they may or may not have a friendly ghost! Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. We got her take on restaurants and took her up on a few of her suggestions. Check in and check out were as easy as the beach breeze.

Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. TIP: Hang on to your keys - only fees are for lost keys!

The front desk staff said she'd call us as soon as it was ready, but I've have heard that song and dance before and was not even expecting a call. Howeverrrrr, she did call! And only about 10 min after we left, saying the cleaning crew had just called to say they were done. That was the first surprise, a good one. When we got to the room I was literally stunned. It was so cute! Brand new everything! It looked like the entire place had been freshly remodeled; not just touch up paint here and a new lame picture the beach there, but actually top to bottom remodel by someone who knew what they were doing! So cute. And great value for the money. A couple small caveats, idk if it advertises as 'sleeps 4' but it really doesn't. There is a loft like area up some steep stairs but it does not have a full height ceiling and would only be fit for children under probably 6-7. Also, the ac doesn't get very cold (We got the detached bungalow btw). The rest of the property is super cute as well. There is a salt water pool (which was closed for some reason, sad face) and a snow cone hut which is super nice for kids. However, there is a second property just down the road whose pool was open so we checked it out. Pool, great but super busy; hot tub, great; bath house, amazing. Again, I'm thinking gross little outdoor shared bathroom at an RV park, wrong! It was a beautifully remodeled bathroom with extra large walk in shower, tile throughout and they were clean! Three total. Overall, I will be staying here again. Hopefully the pool will be open in my location the next time! But this is def now my go to Port A hotel! Such great value!

It's a long read I know…read more The good - location, pool, on site golf cart rental The bad- too pricey for the lack of parking, cramped RV spaces, questionable power pedestals (our breakers kept tripping) At approximately 10:30 p.m., I was abruptly awakened by an older gentleman repeatedly banging on the door of our camper. When I answered, he immediately began yelling that my truck was parked too far over the parking line and needed to be moved. At no point did he introduce himself or identify himself as an employee or representative of Tropical RV Resort, so I initially believed he was super hostile guest. I tried to explain to him that the designated overflow parking area was completely full and asked where I was expected to park. His response was that I should park off the property on the grass behind the park. I informed him that those areas were also completely full. When I again asked where he expected me to park, he stated that he didn't care, that he would begin fining me $100, and then call the fire marshal so I could be fined an additional $500. I do not tolerate being treated with threats and intimidation. He continued yelling throughout the conversation and would not allow for a productive discussion. To end the confrontation, I simply responded, "Okay," several times and closed the camper door. My husband then stepped outside to understand what was happening after hearing someone yelling at me. Rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation, the gentleman immediately began yelling at him as well. A brief verbal exchange followed, as my husband was understandably unwilling to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner by someone who had never identified himself or attempted to communicate professionally. At this point, I felt extremely uncomfortable around this person. His behavior was unacceptable for someone who works with the Public and no guest should ever be treated that way for such a minor parking in fraction. There were cars on your property marked with tow warnings because they have been parked there without parking permits. At least one car was there for 48 hours perhaps had those cars been cleared there would've been ample parking. Additionally, there were open spaces in the trailer storage area, but I was informed I could not park there either. I also want to express a genuine concern regarding the older gentleman who confronted us. I cannot speak to his personal circumstances, but based on his behavior that evening, he appeared to be extremely agitated and confrontational. His level of anger, the way he pounded on our camper door late at night, and the manner in which he repeatedly yelled and threatened us made me feel genuinely unsafe. Whether this was an isolated incident or a pattern of behavior, I believe it warrants attention. No guest should feel intimidated or fear for their safety while staying at an RV resort. I sincerely hope management addresses this situation, both for the well-being of the individual involved and for the safety and comfort of future guests. In the end, all this started around 10:30 PM and by 11:15pm we were packed up and ready to go. I would rather forfeit a night or two, than stay in the environment that I was in. I should also note that the angry gentleman sat in the dark on his golf cart, hiding behind a fence, watching us pack up the entire time... it was awkward. This whole mess could've been avoided. Had this gentleman knocked on our door, introduced himself and explained the situation (without yelling and threatening us with fines and the Fire Marshal). This could've been such an easy problem to solve. I feel that in this circumstance, an exception could've been made to allow me to park in the trailer storage area or over by the hotel rooms where there was additional space. I would've been happy to pay the $10 storage fee just to have a place to park on property and not risk being towed by parking somewhere I didn't belong.
