The place was inviting and they had a great system but I was left wanting more because I actually came there not only to make candles, but to receive candle making knowledge. They basically do everything for you, from placing the wick to pouring the wax. Because I'm starting my own candle line, I already know how to make candles. I came all the way from Riverside to get detailed knowledge about some specifics I needed clarity on but the owner was reluctant to tell me much info about making candles. The information I was given was vague and was information I pretty much already knew. Call me crazy but when I sign up for a candle making class I expect to get detailed information on how to actually make candles. On the site, it mentions sharing the candle creation process with clients but that process was very limited. I wasn't expecting trade secrets, I was expecting SOMETHING other than pouring hot wax into a vessel. This is more of a candle store rather than an informational candle making class. We had reservations for 3, but didn't really need them. We went on a Tuesday around 1 pm. The space was super clean and well ventilated. The staff was very friendly. It felt like hanging out with friends. They were very pleasant and helpful. We were served free champagne in plastic cups. The process was process was 20ish minutes, then we went out to lunch and returned about 2 hours later to pick up our candles in Tiffany-colored gift bags to take home. Our group was my college daughter, me and my Mom. Would highly recommend!! read more

this was so fun! my partner and i made candles here last week - it is the perfect quick activity for a coffee date. we made our scents and poured them, and grabbed a bite to eat during the hour the candles sit to cool and set. by the time we picked them up they were ready to burn! because of the location, there are many great spots to eat nearby, parking was super easy, and it was just the hidden gem we needed to make our day. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. My sister and I love candles and thought this would be a great Galentine's date but instead it was the opposite. What we thought was going to be a fun hour experience actually only lasted 15 minutes. We walked away confused like, what just happened?! Perhaps you should clarify that this experience isn't necessarily making your own candle because we did not melt or pour the wax. All we did was choose the scents we wanted, mixed them together, and poured the concoction of scents in the candle, which already had the wax poured in by the Scent Stylist. Oh wait, and we chose the candle jar from their limited assortment. It was completely disappointing and I can't believe I paid $36 for a 15 minute experience. Yeah I get it, I chose the scents but I could've easily found a candle with the same or similar scent at Bath & Body Works for a cheaper price and probably larger! And last but not least you have to come back an hour and a half later to pick up your candle. I would've preferred knowing this prior so we could've been hungry for lunch or had plans on what to do while we waited. read more

I was so excited to make candles for a fun date night. I have done it in the past at different establishments, and always had a great experience with the best candles. This was our first time at Candles on Tap & our experience was just alright. I would not go again honestly but I am thankful for the experience. Reservations were easy to get, it was super busy when we arrived but were sat quickly. All in all, our candle making was only a 20-30 min experience. Other candle making shops, we were able to take our time, have a glass of wine--just make a date out of it. This time, I felt rushed, and the environment was just blah. No music, no drinks, no time to relax & enjoy the process. And to top it off, one of our candles were lost. Although we received a refund and a complimentary candle made by them, there was a lot of miscommunication between the employees at the shop and the employee emailing me on either finding our candle or getting a refund. Unfortunately the candle that we were looking forward to getting, made with the scents we created was never found. Mistakes happen, however it was just frustrating that the experience started and ended this way. read more

Was a fun experience to make my own candle. But the larger candles use the same amount of oil as smaller ones and do not smell much when burning. I like to actually be able to smell my candle especially when spending that much on a curated scent. We also found it hard to hear the person helping us because the music was way too loud. read more

So much fun!! I came here with my girlfriends and had the best fun. It's such a unique girls night out idea and the buy three get one free deal was awesome. We loved smelling and trying over fifty scents and determining which ones we loved. It was a creative project that I had personally never done.
