They put me on the top floor as I requested. It was good that I could get a kitchenette room: I like having real plates, cups, and cutlery during a business trip. 4 Good Wi-Fi. 90 Mbps when empty, 35 Mbps mid evening. 5 The room coffeemaker had a coffee pack and not a K-cup. It looked good but I liked filling my cup from the coffee vacuum flasks downstairs. 6 As in other hotels, I like to take milk from breakfast and later use it for coffee or tea with milk. 7 Breakfast area has a one-way flow like a roundabout! Layout could be better. Rearrange it so that guests pick up a bowl, then cereal, then milk, and then a spoon. Not the opposite :) The milk dispenser does not always work. It is set to about 23 degrees and tends to freeze the milk. 8 There is an EV charging station with two ports behind the hotel. read more

Great hotel! I first stayed here years ago when it first opened. I am pleasantly surprised how great of shape it still is. Front desk staff, hell the entire staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and everything is in good shape. The rooms have a great kitchenette to include a two burner stove top, full fridge, microwave, coffee pot, plates, etc. the front desk also has blenders, crock pots and other things for cooking. Pool is currently closed because of the time of year and COVID protocols. Gym is great with weights and cardio stuff but currently closes because of COVID. Free washer and dryers are in great shape and work well. The lobby cupboard sells laundry soap and fabric softener. Breakfast is pretty good with a variety of options. Free coffee in the lobby 24/7. Highly recommend this property. read more

OMG....the rooms are fantastic! I love the design concept and in-room amenities. This was the quietest hotel I've ever stayed at. It is definitely convenient if you're visiting the base. It's not new but it's clean and the staff is really nice. The breakfast is okay. I can't complain since it's included. There are several options to pick from for breakfast. They have a nice little grocery corner that has a lot of goodies to choose from. I'd stay again. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here because this hotel had every amenity we needed. A nice big fridge, microwave, well stocked kitchen, a crib for my baby, and complimentary breakfast daily. The room was spacious and clean. The only thing the kitchen was missing was a wine opener but a quick visit to the front desk to ask for it is all you need. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelled so good! I really liked this and I loved that there was enough for my long hair lol those little complimentary bottles of shampoo are usually super small and only enough for one person. We were bummed the pool was closed during our stay, we thought it would be open since it's spring. The gym is not big, it it has enough things to get your workout in and the machines are new. Hands down if you have to stay on post for a prolonged period of time (or short time) this place is wonderful. Everything is well kept and contemporary. The use of space in the room was very clever and efficient even when adding a crib in there. There is a mini kitchen equipped with full fridge, dishwasher and small burners for cooking. There are utensils, pots, pans, plates, etc, all the littke things you could need to cook a meal and clean up after it. Another great thing is that the laundry is free so you dont have to deal with pesky quarters and timers as long as you have your own detergent, etc. Breakfast is pretty good and ends at about 9:30 am. You can find oatmeal packets, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, different breads, cereal, yogurts, and fruit on the go. Their coffee isnt bad either and sometimes you can catch a cup outside of breakfast hours. Our stay started at 5 stars but so many inconvenient things happened. On the first night our AC was blowing hot air in spite of our efforts to find a solution. The room was 80 degrees in the middle of the night and there was no way to open a window. When I notified the staff they were nice and said we couldve called them but even after sharing the story twice I would expect they'd send someone to go check it out so it wouldnt happen again (which it did happen again right before checking out). The other incident was the key cards. They are so sensitive to magnetic touch so be sure to keep it away from devices. When we reserved the room we said 2 adults and a child. Well, my husband went to work and my key stopped working because of the magnetic strip not working. When I went to ask for a new key I was told I couldnt because I wasnt authorized because when myhusband checked in he didnt add anyone.....my husband said that when he checked in they just gave him keys without asking about anyone else. So big miscommunication there. Anyhow they would not give me a new key. I had to call my husband at work and even then he was hard to reach. (This was the morning after the AC incident so I was just livid from lack of sleep). After much debacle and me breaking down I finally got a key. If it wasnt for these 2 incidents I'd say this is 5 stars because the staff was nice and overall amenities in the room were wonderful. When you check in just make sure you add your spouse or whoever to avoid this hot key mess. read more

The staff is simply very dedicated and very willing to be helpful Everyone is super friendly and nice with every possible effort to make you feel welcome. 2. Since the place is pretty much brand new, everything is extremely clean and modern. 3. It is centrally located for pretty much any and everything you need to do around Fort Huachuca. The dings on this hotel are: 1. Somehow there is always something annoying that is broken. The pancake maker is the latest in the string of items. There was only one working elevator for 5 weeks. 2. Breakfast starts at 6:30 but the items aren't completely out till 6:45 read more

My family and I had a great experience staying here for 8 nights. Great amenities, friendly and helpful staff, everything was clean...I don't understand the negative complaints. I have a feeling they're coming from brand new LTs who have never had the luxury of staying in other IHG locations. This hotel is trash. If you're staying here, it's because you have to, not because you want to. The rooms are better LOOKING than expected, but I have had a broken heater (twice), broken dishwater, etc. And on top of that, they do a horrendous job at actually cleaning. They rarely vacuum or things that you would expect to do. I think they only do actual cleanings on Wednesdays. The rest of the time they just empty your trash and pretty much leave everything else. Gone are the days where we could stay in town at a government rate in nice hotels. The internet is horrible, and usually you have to let the shower run for 10-15 minutes if you have any hope of getting warm water (sometimes you never get fully warm). read more

Stayed here for two days (Wednesday-Friday). The complimentary breakfast was awesome and comprehensive: boiled eggs, cereal, bagel, sausages, white and regular egg omelets, pancakes, yogurt etc. the people here, mainly the military, were very cordial and the staff was as well. Sadly, the pool was closed the entire time I was here. I always felt safe here but considering it is on base that shouldn't be a surprise. The rooms were clean and they provided a crib as we needed. Unfortunately it doesn't have the safest design for our one year old who can pull himself up. He was leaning against the crib holding onto the bars (similar to jail bars) and one of his hands slipped causing his face to crash into the side of the crib and leaving a small bruise. Let's start with what we think is great about this hotel. NOTHING!!! 1. Price which includes tax was $90! Outrageous for something serving the military - AF, Marines and Navy all manage to provide better for 2/3rds of the cost. Some retired general on the board must be getting a fat paycheck for this boondoggle. What's not so great about this hotel. 1. Room itself is about half the size of the Marine Corp, Navy, and Air Force Inns we've stayed in during the past month or so, all of which provided real suites, not sugar coated closets. 2. No bath vent. Inexcusable, unless you like odors and a steam bath. 3. In room AC is noisy and simply obnoxious. Runs like a four cylinder Jeep without muffler when the compressor works, otherwise simply noisy on fan mode. In this day and age of Mitsubishi like ACs with compressor outside and silent unit on the inside, really poor choice on the part of the hotel "architect." Must be getting a kickback from AC makers. 4. Fiddle de dee, fiddle de dump stove was simply confusing to use. 5. What was supposed to be Wi Fi was slower than any Dial Up connection I've ever had. Again, simply inexcusable. 6. With AC unworkable, no way to get outside ventilation. Must have really saved some change on the lack of windows that open. 7. And since I'm on a rant, I'll mention the dour customer services representatives I've encounter here. A smile would go a long way. All in all, this is Motel Six quality at highway robbery prices. Why not save a bunch of change and stay off post? I certainly won't be staying at this fancy dump anytime soon. read more

Our suite was so spacious, gorgeously decorated and absolutely beautifully clean!! The staff was always smiling kind & friendly & helpful! This place was one of the best I have ever stayed at on a Military Installation! Our military deserve the best & this is it! As if that is not enough the free breakfast was actually enormous!!! Pancakes & all the bacon you can eat plus all the breads & fruits you can ask for!!! So wonderfully professionally done :) The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because they had no plastic water bottle recycle bins but hopefully the base will catch up on recycling at some point in the future. Just want to add they have a great lending closet with toaster ovens, blenders & even a George Foreman grill, plus card & table games, what a great way to spend some quality time with family & friends! Hope they will add to their information binder in the room about how the surrounding areas have several National Parks, with lots of wildlife viewing only 15 minutes away & lots of hiking trails. We even attended the hummingbird banding event which is held April-May & it was so much fun :) read more

made reservation month ago and reconfirmed week prior for two beds and pups. we check in late to be told that reservation I placed did not included our pups. long story short Carl front desk was rude and said they couldn't accommodate the two beds AND pups. basically "bye"; can't help. I informed that we were here to see daughter attending AIT and we couldn't leave post. so I offered a solution but that solution cost me getting another room so my 12 year could stay alone with pups I called guest reservations to see where the commo failed, the guest reservation said it was this hotel that messed up. horrible customer service. if they would've just been honest and said they messed up I would've accept it but they lied forcing me to get another room. get names, check and recheck before arriving. These folks didn't seem to care if we stayed or not. Did I mention we are Gold members? Retired army and active duty officer? Yeah don't stay here unless you really need to. Great rooms, literally rooms. Horrible front desk greeting. read more

We stayed here for a month and it is by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Pros: -Staff is nice and super helpful when asked. - Rooms are clean and well equipped - Housekeeping isn't bad when they come. They are friendly and deep clean well. Cons: - Wi-fi is terrible. I had to use my own data to finish work. - The TV volume didn't adjust. It was super quiet. - Scheduling room service was a nightmare. We were told we had to schedule for 2x a week and since we had pets we hoped they would be on time so that we wouldn't keep the pets locked up for too long. They maybe only showed up on time twice. Other times they skipped us or we had to chase them down. - It is constantly loud in the floors above us! Since I work late nights into early mornings, sleep is imperative for me during the late mornings. I had to ask them several times to check on it. There was loud banging from housekeeping often (from what I saw and from what they told me). - Privacy is a big one. Once when sleeping I heard banging on my door. I had to quickly get dressed to meet a maintenance worker who was OPENING MY DOOR as I got there! I had the "do not disturb" sign up. 5 seconds earlier, I wouldn't have been decent. And my pets could have run out. I had no warning that maintenance was coming to check fire extinguishers or anything. This one really got me upset. - The food offered is terrible. I get that military will eat anything but I expect better from IHG. - No hot water for the last several days staying here. Neutral: The facilities in the room are OKAY. Had several annoyances. Lamp popped the breaker, freezer quit on my last day, dishwasher wasn't very stable. Also, some of the appliances didn't work well, which I just went and bought my own. Conclusion: They definitely cut several corners here. What started out as minor annoyances turned into a nightmare. I wouldn't stay here again. Had it been like the first few days, I would have been ok with it. Not sure I really want to stay in IHG hotels again. I have stayed in better for better prices. read more

Probably the worst Internet access in any hotel I've ever experienced. Bring your own hot spot along to do any real work. The staff knows the IT guy is useless - apparently the system is set to be like a government server, useless - maybe that's why Hillary Clinton wanted her own system. Anyway the management seems to think the oldest part of the hotel is best for those who stay for two weeks - it's not. I can't believe the Army actually allowed this to be built on government property without providing guidelines on housing. I'm pretty sure the barracks might have been a step up...only because I know what to expect. read more

Be cautious with your belongings. I returned from work one day to find two neckties missing from my room. I immediately went to the front desk to report the issue and happened to find one of the neckties sitting at the front desk. The second tie is still missing and hotel management is refusing to take responsibility, in fact the hotel staff even insinuated that I was lying about the incident (apparently having one of my ties at the front desk wasn't enough evidence). These neckties were laid out on a chair in my room. They were not irresponsibly tossed on the floor, nor were they sitting on the bed, which would make this incident a little more understandable. The best explanation I can think of is blatant disregard for the property of their guests. Is this typical behavior of IHG hotels? Or are they taking advantage of the Soldiers that are TDY and forced to stay on base at this hotel? Other common issues include severely slow internet and occasional lack of hot water. read more

The Fort Huachuca Candlewood Suites will make fraudulent charges against your credit card after you depart. After returning home to Fort Bragg, North Carolina I received a voice mail from Anna May Sheffie, Candlewood Suites Manager, informing me I had been charged $125.00 because a dog had urinated on a curtain in my room. I did not have a dog in my room at any time during my stay at the hotel. For Ms. Sheffie to assume I brought a dog with me from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Fort Huachuca, Arizona while attending a challenging military course is absurd. The stain the hotel is attempting to charge me for was there when I arrived. Fortunately, one of the first things I did when I entered the room was take a photograph. In the photograph, you can see the stain on the curtain. There is a time / date stamp on the photograph that shows I took it when I arrived which proves the charge made by the hotel on my credit card is fraudulent. I am still waiting on a refund. In addition, this highlights the hotel's lack of quality control when cleaning and inspecting rooms between the visit of each customer. read more
