Staffed by two young ladies in one person in the back cooking. The cook was hustling the burgers and the fries and the girls were doing the ice cream. It's in a good location, and there are a good number of chairs and picnic tables. The food (hot dogs, fried clams, hamburgers) are better than average, and the ice cream --- oh, the ice cream. That's what you're there for, right? Well, they have lots of different flavors of Hershey's hard ice cream. An orange/vanilla hard ice cream sundae is a thing of beauty. Staff were super friendly and patient with a family that couldn't decide on their order. Ice cream service was quick and had Hershey ice cream. Peanut butter/ chocolate ice cream had huge chunks of peanut butter making it hard to eat so probably wouldn't order that flavor again. Would return for the service read more

Took the dogs and my sister's kids out to ice cream after a prolonged time standing on top of the cliffs unsure of whether or not to take the Great Leap Forward. Oftentimes in life we're afraid to take the first step, but Dani was not. I'd like to thank Jill for bringing us together and creating everlasting memories in Lake Placid, including the grilled chicken milkshake, titled The Adirondack Maple Shake. While the flavor was fulfilling in ways that Drew will never be, the maple was somewhat lacking. Perhaps the highlight was the great service and the old man who stood behind us who ordered a big sundae on this wonderful Saturday. The chocolate soft serve with PB dip was exceptional. We had the snickers and cinnamon toast crunch "tornadoes" with vanilla soft serve, and man were they tasty. Prices were totally reasonable and portions were plenty large. Everyone needs to stop complaining about a drive up burger and ice cream shack. It is what it is and they are awesome. It's greasy comfort food. If you are expecting anything else you are delusional . And the milkshakes and sundaes are top notch. The kids working there are polite and fast no matter how busy. Snobs stay away. Arrived at approximately 12:15 and placed orders for lunch. Didn't get any of our food for almost an hour. There were multiple orders placed after us that came out first. On top of everything they added stuff we asked them to omit and when we said, "ok can we get one with the right stuff on it," she said no. After complaining more we were finally refunded but then found more food we received not as ordered. A word to these employees, Saturdays at lunch time are a standard busy time and customers shouldn't wait an hour with toddlers for their food. read more

I had a TERRIBLE experience here. I have never yelped before and this mans action made me join to comment. I ordered a poutine( fries with gravy and cheese on top) and a chicken fingers basket, with the side of fries upgraded to poutine as well, which I would pay extra for, to eat there. So they charged me for two full poutines as well as the fingers basket. Whatever, I let it go. What I got, after a long wait at a very UN busy time, was my order- packed to go ,not to eat there- which was one full size poutine, and the smaller side made into poutine with fingers placed on top. So essentially overcharged, again- whatever. Let it go. But- the cook put a paper napkin UNDER the fries and gravy and cheese. Think of that. Now it's all stuck to a paper napkin. And we are eating napkin. I figured the cook was a new kid- thought I'd be nice and let him know that that's not a great idea, no one likes napkin stuck in their food. So I went up to tell them. The owner came to the window and flat out, repeatedly denied putting the napkin under the fries. He was the cook. THEN he took his "crank charge $2.00" sign out of the window and told me I owed him two dollars. I told him he was behaving horribly and then he slammed the window closed and walked away. So I went and got the evidence, napkin covered in gravy and cheese and brought it up to the window. All that man had to do was say, oops. Sorry. He proceeded to blame it on the girls working, for giving him the order wrong. At this point I am so angry I'm crying. He ended apologizing for the staff. Not for himself and his mistake. Then told me to "sleep on it and I'd feel better". So I did. And woke up thinking about signing into yelp for this review. read more
