Awesome spot! They have handmade candies from a vendor they've been stocking for several years. We absolutely loved their candies-- recommend their peanut butter bars, they have crisped rice inside and are delightful. We recommend the dark chocolate covered almond or cashew clusters with caramel. Their chocolate sea foam candy was very crunchy and delicious. we somehow got in just as everything was about to close in the entire town. Really didn't plan series of events properly and should've ended up on the beach and then started with that said we were so glad. This place was open. 30 minutes later then it said it was going to be online. Whenever we're traveling about, we always have to stop by and get some sweets for the kids and kind of see what the Local Flavor is in though we were disappointed that another favorite of ours was closed. We are still very happy to stumble out of this place and grab all they had to offer... now, of course we get the saltwater taffy and I always go for my go to chocolate covered gummy bears. Staff was nice. They didn't complain that we were coming in minutes before they closed and we definitely tried to buy some stuff not make a mess and get along our way. Absolutely great job. Everyone is very friendly and very nice! Sidney was extremely enabling when it came to buying chocolate, but I was on vacation so it was okay! There's a gift shop side to the business as well so if you want any little knick knacks they have them. Have fun indulging yourself with great treats and excellent customer service! I had never been here but the bf insisted as he remembered it from his younger days. Oh yes, very tasty candies inside. We got some variety of taffy and two chocolates. (Hey, I'm trying to show restraint here). They have the normal touristy stuff but we elected not to get into that stuff. The building was very colorful so I had to take a picture. You cannot miss it as you drive south through town, there it is prominently on the east side of the street. I don't know how I had been driving by it all these years. I found it especially enticing as the bf indicated it had been there at least thirty years that he knew of. I tried not to blow the New Year's diet (one piece of taffy equals 60 calories folks--who knew?) I'm sure I'll be back here again. read more

Recently went to Candyland for the first time during our trip to Lincoln City, and I have to say, I was not impressed. We stopped by to get some fun candy to enjoy with some friends who were coming over for dinner that night. First of all, I think you should greet someone when they walk in the door, but both the man and woman behind the counter didn't even acknowledge us at all when we walked in. Not a good first impression, I have to say. The candy selection was also much smaller than I expected, with only half the store with candy and the other half with souvenirs. The main thing that annoyed me was when I asked the lady behind the counter what the sea foam candy was (I had never heard of it) she gave me a good description, but never offered to let me try it. I have never been in a candy store, where I wasn't offered to try something in order to see if I liked enough to buy it. She could have cut off a very small piece and offered to let me try it, but she didn't. We ended up buying some caramel corn and various old fashioned candy, which was good, but overall the experience wasn't good, and we won't be going back. Not worth it. read more

It was way too big, brought it back to the shop and the woman was extremely helpful and let me exchange it for a different size. Brought the kids and friends and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and informative. There was a wall of different taffy. A good size case of homemade candy (chocolate) and then another wall of old school candy. There are even vegan options! Some reviews said that this was a tourist trap but I disagree. This is a legit and yummy candy shop and you can buy other touristy things. I definitely recommend it and my kids do too! read more

They don't make their fudge or salt water taffy themselves - they get it "from someone in town". The taffy was decent but the fudge didnt look fresh so I didnt try any. The customer service was a bit off but otherwise the experience was fine. Prices were decent. read more

Whenever I come out here to the coast, I always make sure I visit Candyland to get my west coast candy fix. The carmel corn freshly made is AMAZING! There are some souveniers to pick up here as well. The various candy sticks that would be found at Chuck E. Cheese are there for the pickings for 15 cents a piece. Overall, not impressed. I manage a candy store in my hometown, so I looove visiting other candy shops to see their selection in hopes of trying something new or to find an old favorite. Why is their name Candyland? That is so misleading. Half of the store is candy. The candy aisle in Wal-Mart has more candy than this place. Are they closing? What is going on here? Their chocolate counter is small but has some yummy stuff. The peanut butter cups are suuupppeerrr delicious and my husband enjoyed his chocolate covered cashew cluster. The saltwater taffy was soft and after eating most of it by now, (can't resist!) it is fresh. I do wish they had more of an assortment of flavors, they had most of the generic flavors I find at most candy shops. The women working were nice, but no greetings or small talk. Strictly work. Kinda takes the fun out of a fun place if the staff aren't interactive, in my opinion. Prices were pretty reasonable, especially for the Oregon coast. No, it's not a strip club, or a dental clinic, or an accordion repair shop, although Candyland would make an excellent name for any of those things. The name says it all: it is a land of awesome candy. Yes, there are other candy stores on the coast, but there can be only one Candyland. I was 7 years old and had never seen the ocean or been to a candy store. Sure, my local grocery store had some candy and I'd seen the ocean on movies and TV, but that doesn't count. We drove over from Idaho to visit relatives in Lincoln City. My eyes were as big as saucers the entire trip. Imagine being a little kid in a town with a bunch of souvenir shops, kite shops and candy shops...and then there is this bright red building with CANDYLAND in big white letters. It was like Christmas and at least one other holiday at the same time. A few years later, Candyland hasn't changed a bit. Oh, there probably have been a few changes...I'm pretty sure they didn't have a cardswipe machine for credit cards when I was 7...it had to be the giant sliding imprint machine that went "chunk-chunk" when they took an imprint of your card. If they even took credit cards back then. But essentially it is still the same great candy and souvenirs; it's good to know it wasn't just the novelty of the experience that made Candyland so awesome back then. The quality of the candy is excellent, and the people are very nice with a good sense of humor. Who else would be brave or smartass enough to display a blue and white sign reading "TSUNAMI INSTRUCTIONS: Run Like Hell" on the front door of a business that is basically across the street from the pounding surf? Inside, the lady at the register kept us laughing for several minutes while we made the ever-so-crucial decision (since we can't take the entire store home, what do we buy). I'd say it's a 2.5 star It's a cute shop on the outside, bright eye catching makes you wonder what waits for you inside. I was a little let down in all honesty, I expected Candyland to be full of candy not over priced touristy stuff. They do have some great candies which is why they should be a three star when it comes to the candy. Good taffy selection, bunch of silly bacon stuff, some older hard to find candies but they could utilize the store for more actual candy and less over priced junk. It's named Candyland, I guess I just expected more. What knocked them down from the three star was the service I experienced, the lady had her back to the us most of the time and never even greeted us. Stopped in here while waiting for the box office to open at the Bijou Theater down the street. They sell Salt Water Taffy, sugar sticks in yummy flavors, and home made chocolates, along with other, old fashioned candies. Gummy Bacon slices. Giant u-fill pixie sticks. My kids went for starbursts (boring..) and a spiral lollipop (a little more excitement there...), and a water (what?!?). The owner of this place is the sweetest lady! We were in town on an impromptu trip and things were closed because of winter season and we were leaving town but wanted to get some seafoam candy, because you can't go to the beach and not get seafoam candy, we hit one place and we struck out, we called Candyland to see if the had any and she did, she offered to stay open until we got there in 5 mins. We arrived and we're pleasantly surprised. The store was awesome and the service was fantastic!!!!!! We will always go back here anytime we are in town. read more

It's pretty much what you'd expect from a bright red building that says "CANDYLAND". My 6 year old thought it was better than the aquarium. The Carmel corn was fresh, the seafoam was crunchy. My daughter was dying to get me to eat the chocolate covered crickets. This is a fun shop with lots of gag gifts and some great candies from when I was a kid like atomic fireballs also some no longer appropriate candies from when I was a kid like candy cigarettes. There was quite a line but it was a summer weekend and they only have one cash register so it maybe took me 10 minutes to check out. read more

We stopped here for some taffy and were very disappointed. This is actually the worst taffy we've ever eaten. It was sweet but had no flavor whatsoever.
