This little shop is on Cannery Row and is pretty packed. While the vibe is cute the store is small and cramped. There is bulk candy and taffy as well as fudge and hand dipped chocolates. Nothing is made there but it looks good. Unfortunately even though you know that rent can't be cheap, the candy is ridiculously overpriced. Even for a shop in a tourist trap. I'd rate this shop higher if it didn't cost so much.

Holy crap! My daughter had best experience and unreal selection!!! This place is hidden treasure in Cannery Row. Rod and company really know their customers!

HOW IS THIS $7.00?!? Are you nuts?

Soooo expensive. Wtf. I know it's a tourist spot, but it's a damn candy story. Store looks cool and makes you really wanna walk through (so we did), but once you do you just start saying "no, no, no"

Omg- like a kid in a candy store! Hee.

Talk about being a kid in a candy store!!! Hee. The sweet smell of this candy store is so inviting, that alone draws one in! Hee. The lady greeted us as we walked in. The only withdrawal I would say, was that I wanted to but my Aunt 6 different flavored taffy's and apparently there's a minimum amount of 1/4lb. On the loose/weighing candy. I just got a candy apple instead.... No taffy's.

It's eye candy. I mean that literally. It's a cool candy store that specializes in salt water taffy...every flavor you can think of in these huge barrels. Remember, this store is located at the wharf so it's a tourist trap. The taffy is really yummy but you will pay a hefty price for it. They charge by weight. You can mix and match flavors but it isn't cheap. They sell other types of sweets too but their salt water taffy is what I gravitate towards. Ambiance: every little kid's dream.

Large assortment of saltwater taffy and retro candies available. Most of the aisles are so narrow and it got so crowded with strollers that had a hard time getting through that it was too hard to even look so I ended up leaving. It was a Saturday so maybe at another time would be easier.

Fun stop for a few minutes! Just a whiff of the sweet treats would've probably brought my sugar levels on the diabetic side and my doctor would've frowned upon me LoL! but it was fun looking at the displays from wall to wall of all the candy and chocolates you can ever imagine. From assorted ZOTZ candies to Bazooka gums they have it all here. Huge array of salt water taffies lined in barrels and behind the window display case are slabs (more like small logs) of different types of flavor chocolates. They also sell ice-cream here. We stopped by to get some chocolate with peanuts to bring home (special request from daughter). For my friends in Sacramento this place is similar to Candy Heaven on Front Street in Old Sac. Purchased a couple of milk chocolate peanut clusters and off we went. Good service assisted by a friendly employee. The store is located inside the building where the Steinbeck's Spirit of Monterey Wax Museum is located. It has neighboring shops inside the building as well. Review #1694

The fiancé and I had brunch around the area and wanted to explore a bit before heading to our next destination. We stumbled upon CandyLand, and although we had no intentions of buying any sweets, we headed inside just to check the store out for fun. The shop is huge with a ton of salt water taffys in many flavors imaginable. There are also other types of candies, gummies, chocolates, along with a few toys and gadgets for the kiddos. Prices are a bit steep, but I think it's expected due to it's touristy location. Lastly, although I didn't interact with any staff members, I did overhear a conversation she was having with another customer, and all I can say is that it wasn't very pleasant. Overall, a fun and colorful candy shop to check out if you are in the area. However, I wouldn't recommend purchasing any goodies here as they are a bit overpriced compared to other stores in the area.

Fudge is EXTREMELY low quality your better off buying dollar tree chocolate for a better price

I shopped here with my boyfriend on March 23, 2024 we decided to stop by. Only to be yelled at by the EXTREMELY rude, bitter, older lady working the cashier. Terrible experience I do not recommend. It's a very bad look because all of the other shops at cannery row everyone is extremely sweet welcoming and kind. I was extremely disappointed. If you do decide to walk in there good luck to you! She will yell at you for not being on the right side of the line? There is no sense of direction or signs indicating the "RULES" and the cashier also made rude inappropriate remarks as my boyfriend was paying very unnecessary. The fudge was very low quality it tasted cheap like dirt chocolate or something. I recommend Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory instead which is across the street.

Huge fun candy store with taffy in every flavor imaginable. They also stock ice cream, chocolate, fudge, bin gummy candy, prepackaged candy, stuffed animals, Icees, jelly belly beans, Pucker Powder, and other fun items. The downside... extremely high prices... $6.25 per 1/4 lb.! For me, there are too many other candy shops in the immediate area to shop here... unless there is something here the other stores don't carry.

Ice cream is good but the waffle cones are super stale. $7 a cone = pricey. Reminder to self: next time buy in cup.

The sizes of the sweets on the display are much larger than the ones we got. Very scammy. False advertising.

It's super soft with a deep chocolate taste, lots of flavors to choose from such as german chocolate cake, cookies and cream etc or classics like milk chocolate and dark chocolate etc. The sign says 1/4 pound minimum for fudge purchases. So I chose 2 flavors and asked for 1/8 pound of each, which would total the minimum requirement of 1/4 pound fudge. However, worker clarified that the sign meant 1/4 pound minimum for EACH flavor. Ended up choosing the Rocky Road chocolate and I was so delighted to eat it! Highly recommend the fudge, can't recommend anything else here really.

Candy World is one the most effective tourist traps I've ever seen, a big, barn-red candy store…read moreright at the start of Old Fisherman's Wharf. My four-year-old was mad when we walked past it, and only moved on because I promised we could go back if he didn't get a sweet treat at one of the other shops. We walked the whole way down the wharf and my son still wanted Candy World, it's like the storefront imprinted itself on his vulnerable little mind. We were with our two-year-old and four-year-old nephew too, and all three boys were thrilled to go inside--like kids in a candy store, as the saying goes. There were stacks of buckets by the entrance, and we took one almost reflexively, falling deeper into the trap. The store was bursting with candy, just barrels and barrels of taffy and lollipops and every candy you might find in your average drugstore. The prices were astonishing. $4 for a ring pop, $6 for one of those flashlight candies that always show up in party favors. It took some work declining to buy those for my kids. We decided to get some fudge instead, and paid like $12 for small pieces of milk chocolate and dark chocolate sea salt caramel. Service was fast and helpful enough, and the kids devoured that milk chocolate. I tasted it and while it wasn't especially good, it was spectacularly sweet. The sugar was almost gritty on my teeth. The dark chocolate sea salt caramel was slightly better. If my kids had had their way, they would've filled that bucket to the top, and the bill might have climbed well into the hundreds. Candy World trapped us, but I feel like we got out relatively unscathed.
