I'm writing this review because I absolutely love Cane Rosso. I've been there on several occasions, even birthday dinners. However, this time was different. This is the honey bastard pizza. We always order two with an order of brussel sprouts. With that being said I know what they're supposed to look and taste like. The two pizzas we bought to go, were burnt. The first we opened, the bottom was a little crispy and we were like oh okay. They typically have some grill marks, but you don't taste the burnt aspect of them. We thought the next one was done right. Until we saw that the bottom of second was even more charred and tasted burnt as well. I'm just upset that we were given the pizzas to take home knowing the staff more than likely knew this was the product they were serving to their customers. For the future I imagine I'm going to have to look at the bottom of my pizzas to ensure they're not charred. Charred to the point our fingers were dusty and black. read more

I was looking for a pizza place in Arlington that would show me that Chicago is not the best place for pizza and this place did it for me. The pizza dough melted in my mouth and the wood fire taste made it that much more enjoyable. Our waiter was so sweet and even told us about there amazing happy hour deals. The pizza list is imaginative and full of great combinations. My husband loves the Truffle Carbonara, it's a bit too strong for me but hey, give it a try. I enjoy the outdoor seating with friends. This review is for a to go order. I have actually dined in at the location and everything was just decent. But for this order I got a very basic pepperoni pizza to go. The delivery time from ordering was actually extremely fast and got to me within 40 minutes of ordering. But to my surprise the pizza was actually very cold and soggy.I really don't know what it was but also just the taste of the pizza wasn't there, and I actually only had one slice and threw the rest away. I'm definitely going to go back in person to write a follow up review as I personally hate writing poor reviews, but I will 100% try to give it another shot. read more

We've been Cane Rosso fans for years, since we adopted a puppy from their namesake pet rescue. When we found out they now have a place in Arlington and we had company in town, we knew exactly where to go for brunch. Located near all the Arlington attractions (sports venues, six flags, etc.), Cane Rosso is convenient for many. We walked in on a Sunday and sat right down at the bar, although they had table and patio seating available as well. We were promptly greeted by a friendly bartender who provided menus and took drink orders. After reviewing the menu, I ordered the Bodega brunch pizza, my husband had the breakfast taco pizza and our friend had the baked penne. We also ordered the Burrata as an appetizer. All the food was excellent. The pizzas were unique and had that great wood fired taste. The Burrata is always a delicious starter. We highly recommend Cane Rosso! read more

If I was just rating the pizza, I would give this place a four star. Unfortunately, the service was so bad it took two stars away. I put in a drink order and the waitress came out halfway through our meal saying she was still waiting on them. We canceled the order and she got an attitude. Stopped for dinner here after passing by on our way Hurtado BBQ and thought that looks like a place we should try. Glad we did as the pizza was very good. I ordered half Jabroni and half Cane Rosso. I preferred the later. My only criticism is that the jabroni pesto sauce was too much for my taste and should have been a lot less of it. Service was excellent with our waiter and other staff checking on us and refilling drinks before having to ask. Pizza is Neapolitan style cooked with high heat and fast. New spot for us. They've got a few locations but this was the closest to us. Tons of seating outside. Casual. Started off with the Cast Iron Spinach Dip & Tortilla Chips. The dip was good but the chips weren't my favorite. It was the thick kind. We ordered the Honey Bastard and Cane Russo pies. The Honey Bastard was really good. It's spicy and sweet (by spicy, I mean it has a kick). The Cane Russo pie wasn't anything special. We also had the Caesar Salad, Fussili Alla Vodka, and Truffle Carbonara. Caesar Salad was good. Instead of croutons, they used bread crumbs which was different. Came with an anchovy right on top. The Fussili was my wife's dish. She took a forkful and lifted it up to see a nice length of blonde-brown hair hanging from the fork of pasta. I don't know how things like hair and insects find her but I'm glad she's observant or else she would've found it in her mouth if she was me. They brought her another dish. Unfortunately, we didn't think it tasted that great. Truffle Carbonara was good. Creamy and rich. Ended the night with a S'mores Calzone and the Lady Bird. The S'mores Calzone was a disappointment. It tastes like the inside was made of tons of melted semi sweet chocolate chips. It sounds great but was too bitter and chunky for this calzone. I would've preferred a smooth, creamy milk chocolate. The LadyBird was definitely a hit!! It's a dessert pizza with vanilla mascarpone, nutella, cookie butter, crushed speculoos cookies, powdered sugar. My review is a three because everything seemed to be a hit or miss tonight. I hope everyone else has a better experience. read more

This is my favorite pizza right now. I really cannot be bothered to eat anything else if I am going the pizza route. Not only that, but they have great salads and starters too. The other locations I've visited are incredibly busy, I haven't seen this location get quite that crazy, but they opened during COVID, so we're going to have to see what happens. Cue the ole saying, "You better eat your brussels sprouts!" Then, do it. Here's the deal, I've been going to Cane Rosso for years now. And, while I've tried nearly every pizza available, I haven't really ventured out to other parts of the menu. What can I say, I'm a carb loving girlie who knows what she wants (shrug of shoulders). However, I felt adventurous on this particular Tuesday night and ordered the Brussels Sprouts appetizer to accompany my usual pizza order. Minutes or so later, a heaping mound of piping hot brussels sprouts arrived to my table. They were laid over a sea of balsamic reduction with islands of red sweet drop peppers, and completely smothered with mini mountains of bacon and marcona almonds. If that wasn't enough, a hefty portion of beautifully whipped ricotta rested beside them. It's incredibly sound to say, my eyes lit up by the portion and presentation. And guess what? It tasted as good as it looked... absolutely scrumptious. OTHER NOTABLE MENTIONS: First time at the Arlington location, it has a great vibe inside and out. I, especially, loved how big their outside patio area was. It had multiple wooden picnic tables tucked under cute stringy lights. It'd be great for a fall or spring gathering (when it's not as hot and there's no chance of rain). The staff was also very friendly, actually the friendliest of all the locations I've been too! Okay, preface time here. Love the location on Magnolia, Love Zoli's on Hulen. Honestly nothing but great visits with those two. Not wanting to tempt the anger of the Jay J here, but this location is falling short. When it first opened, after being delayed by the PeterPandemic, I came by and got food to go since things were still pretty tight socially inside. Since I was mostly by myself I would usually grab apps, which the meatballs were always good. But once I moved on to grabbing entrees, things started getting kinda wonky. I'd gotten the brisket lasagna several times at Zoli's, even having to wait curbside for it, and it's always pretty much perfect. My one experience getting it at this location, was dry and over cooked. I couldn't even discern if any sauce had been put between layers, and it was so dry I was forced to drink it down some. It was also burnt on top layer, and more so than a slight way. Got the chicken parm here one time, overcooked to the point that it was rubber chicken time, very chewy. Also kinda dry, not much sauce added to the entree. It was tough cutting with a knife, ugh. The one time I got a pizza it was really good, so woo hoo there. But I really get mostly non pizza items from Cane Russo, and the fact that most of them were going south on me isn't a great incentive to keep coming back. But come back I still do, because I do like this location, mainly because it's better than going 10-15 miles outta my way to go to Magnolia or Zoli's. Inside service can be a little hit and miss, but I only sit at the bar, sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's "I'll wait on you when I return from some mystery trip to the back 5-10 minutes or so from now empty handed". I've gotten the best service outside, during half occupancy times. Fast and efficient and "we'll be happy to grab you a beer or two while you wait". Anyway, the last visit kinda killed me when the usually always good meatballs were just barely warm enough to not be called cold, even tho they were in a hot iron serving pan, and two of the three pieces of bread were so burned they should have been ashamed to serve them. I saw how bad they were and even before the server could turn away I asked for bread "not so burned". Without being surprised, they said they would be happy to get me different bread. The replacement pieces had an acceptable amount of burn on them, so I figured I shouldn't press my luck by asking for any more. Anyway, I'll still be coming by, hope things get better than the average it is now. It's a nice place, staff is nice, if not unmotivated sometimes, and if not, I guess I can go back to making those occasional trips across town. read more

This is a nice space. Big patio, indoor seating, bar, etc. This restaurant is in a good location with other entertainment within walking distance. Lots of pizza and craft beer options. Happy hour is mon-Friday until 6. I got the honey bastard pizza. It was very flavorful. I do enjoy a sweet/savory combo. I wish their crust was a little thicker. They make Neapolitan style pizza so just a matter of personal preference. Their pizza is almost easier to eat with a. Fork and knife. They lots of pizza options and all that I have tried so far have been good. The dessert pizza was not my favorite. I got the Nutella, cookie butter, vanilla mascarpone one. It has the same style crust. The flavor combo was not my favorite. I didn't realize mascarpone is a form of cheese. Maybe this is just another personal preference. This is genuine Italian pizza and it's really good. Our waitress was a little quirky but sweet. The food is much different than what I'm used to since it's authentic so if you're looking for American pizza this isn't the place. But if you want to try something new this place is good. It's been a while since I was there so I don't remember what drink I wanted (it was something very common like a specific soda flavor) and they didn't have it. I love how they repurposed an old building. They have a big patio area with lots of space for everyone to spread out. They do take reservations for any size party which is not always the case for many restaurants. We got one pizza- half honey bastard, half CBF (chicken, bacon, pesto). They have several red pizzas (red sauce) and several white pizzas (no sauce). I really enjoyed the honey pizza. It's a nice sweet/savory combo. The CBF was okay, a bit salty and the pesto was not super flavorful, as I imagined it would be. I would get the honey again and definitely try a new one. They had so many options that sounded delicious it was a challenge to just pick two! I do wish the base of the pizza was a little thicker. The pizza alone is very thin/floppy. When picking up a slice it's a two handed job or all your toppings will fall off! The crust at the end is delicious and crunchy. We also got the cookie butter/Nutella dessert pizza, def. a fork and knife dish! It was super messy and I had trouble tasting the flavors of cookie butter and Nutella, bc of the amount of butter(?) and vanilla mascarpone that it was saturated in. It was surprisingly not as good as it sounded. A cookie butter and Nutella combo sounds mind blowing!! I wouldn't get the dessert pizza again. Or maybe I'm just not a vanilla mascarpone fan. Never disappointed at any of the Cane Rosso locations. I know this is nit-picky[sp] but... dude... when you cut the pizza, CUT the pizza. You showed me where the lines were, but I had to do the rest of the cut with a table knife. Also, seriously, mark the front door better. We had to help at least 3 groups waking the wrong way and then past the unmarked entry. Still great pizza and easily the best Caesar Salad I've ever had. Annoyances don't cost stars. read more

Really enjoyed my dinner here with my favorites being the Fusilli Vodka pasta (sub sausage w beyond meat) and Legal Draft Nowhere Texas beer. The pasta sauce was so good and the crunchy breadcrumb on top- chef's kiss. Shout out to our server Nensei for the meat sub and pasta recommendation! Took one for the team for my GF friends. A night ruined because they can't figure out supply and demand. I'll start by saying that I have a gluten intolerance. After calling all over town trying to find some gluten-free options in Arlington. We settled on this place even though they said 45 min wait on the phone. There aren't a lot of GF options in Arlington so for us to have found something unique (for Arlington) like this restaurant with GF dough was really exciting. I had called ahead to make sure they had GF, they assured "gluten friendly" that's works. I get you can't account for traces of flour. We get to the restaurant they said hour and a half wait, that sucks but oh well "Ok put my name in". It's not like I had many other options in the area. 25 minutes later I got a call that our table is ready ok? Not sure how the wait time was so far off? The menu looks amazing. The server is excellent, knows his sh*t. Order a glass of wine, order pizzas everything is and then the bomb gets dropped. "We just ran out of our last gluten-free pizza dough." You've gotta be kidding me. It's not like it was super late, it was around 730 on a Saturday night. I would've just ordered a salad as disappointing as that was but they use inflammatory soybean oil (I also have a soy intolerance anyway) to cook their food so that wasn't an option either. I get ingredients can run out but this isn't just any ingredient, it's a matter of dining at a restaurant or not (for GF folks). You tell me on the phone an hour ago you have GF and then I show up and you don't. Just really stuck a nerve. This place has some of the best pizza around. Think quality over quantity. You'd rather have 2 pieces of this, than 4 of Pizza Hut. I can promise you that. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. I've only gotten to-go since they've been open in Arlington, and that experience has always been wonderful. The packaging is top notch and is always sufficient to keep the food safe in transport. The Betty is a go-to. Delicious and the bolognese and ricotta combo is to die for. The Zucchini and Artichoke fritters are delicious, but inconsistent. We each had a thin crust pizza, my husband had a salad and we shared the meatballs as an appetizer. Way too much food for two people. He loved his salad and the marinara sauce on the meatballs was delish. Pizzas were good too. Overall the food is excellent. Our waiter was attentive and fast. The food is a little pricy for what you get. Beer is $6, glass of wine is $12 average. I recommend it but be prepared to pay $$. They practice SD so there is a long wait unless you sit outside. I had a glass of red wine with mine and it was perfect. Pizza was hot and salad well dressed. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to have a little larger bowls for the salad.
