They acknowledged my concerns and told me they would issue a refund, but since then they have stopped responding to my calls and messages. I still have not received the promised refund or any explanation for how my dog was injured. I trusted this facility to care for my dog while I was out of the country, and I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I'm posting a photo of the injury so other pet owners can make an informed decision. If you board your dog here, inspect your pet carefully before leaving the facility.

I knew the former owners very well (we were friends over time), and they trained my older French bulldog. I have boarded him here every trip we've taken since then, and also brought him for refresher courses in training and daycare since 2021. I got a second French bulldog puppy last year, who also came here for training. Since the prior owners sold the location, I have noticed a decline in the ability and care of the staff. Her training was definitely significantly subpar compared to my other pup. She will not follow any commands, and is also not fully potty trained (another aspect that we had asked for in her training). Basically, I am not sure what we paid for. The trainers I have met or seen videos from seem very inexperienced and sometimes are unable to handle the dogs (my dogs are less than 33 pounds each). Also they always forget to give back our dogs extra food, supplies, and anything we brought every time we pick them up. Most recently, I had boarded both of the pups for a week. There were multiple issues I will highlight below. The most serious concern I had since that week of boarding is a behavioral change in my puppy. She normally has a very sweet disposition and gets along with all dogs. She attends daycare at multiple places and is loved by dogs and staff alike. Upon returning home, she is now growling at other dogs, and she tried to aggressively attack my older pup repeatedly. This aggressive behavior started immediately after she returned home from Love for Dogs and had never happened prior. She also had a staph infection in her neck, which appears to be from a bite. I am concerned she was attacked or had a traumatic incident, and actually had to take the pups for emergent training a few days after bringing them home with another facility (costing many thousands of dollars) because I was scared they'd hurt each other. I have requested a call for the past week almost daily and have not yet been contacted. I feel very hurt and betrayed as I felt that some of these people were like family to my pups over the years. I am truly hoping that the new facility we emergently took her to will be able to help her recover so she can come home. The next issue I had was when I came back and picked them up, they were supposed to be bathed ($80 paid). My dogs had mud and filth that could only have accumulated for days still on them. No one could give me a straight answer if they'd been bathed at first, but later they said they were bathed but got muddy after. The layers of mud we scrubbed off when we got home could not have been from one day. We requested a refund but our calls and texts have been ignored. TLDR- I do not recommend this place for training, daycare or boarding, at the risk of your dog being injured, traumatized, and not cared for properly.

This small shop is located on an indiscrete road off W. Alabama near Buffalo Speedway. There is a tiny parking lot out front that is usually empty. Upon entering the store it's a bit dim, emitting a calm spa feel. Being October, they were selling Halloween costumes in the store but they also have other pet items for purchase year round like fancy dog collars & leashes, clothes, dog beds, and toys. A bit pricey but good quality (not like the 99 cent toys I buy at Pet Smart that my dogs tear up in 10 minutes). I made sure to make an appointment for my dog grooming in advance but the other time I came they accommodated me and I was able to make an appointment the day before. Total grooming time, which included a bath and haircut, took about 5-6 hours. John and I set up a time of when I would pick up my dog but he is also open to calling you when the grooming is done as well. John took the time to listen to what I wanted my dog to look like and was very receptive to my instructions. He did a great job and I'm so happy my dog doesn't look like a poodle (which is a common goldendoodle grooming problem) and was not shaved down (which has both happened in the past to me at other groomers). My dog came out soft, fluffy, and quite honestly smelling better than I do after my morning showers. My dog got a cute complimentary bandana as well. The only star I would minus is due to pricing- this salon is a bit over my budget but my dog always comes back looking and smelling wonderful so I really shouldn't be complaining. When I called John Andrew's Pet Salon, they were able to schedule me that same day. They required proof of vaccination/shots upon drop off, which fortunately I was able to find. They informed me that I could also leave them my vet information to have them request a fax as well. I have a toy poodle and wanted him cleaned up for the summer time. They told me it would be 3-4 hours before he was ready and they were right on schedule when they called me later that day. I went in to get him and he looked great. His top knot was perfectly manicured and his pom-poms were all even. They had a bow on his ear, which I was not the biggest fan of, so right away they took it off with no problem. I was a little sticker shocked when they told me the price... $70 for a full groom, bath, and nails. My dog weighs 7lbs. so this was more than I was used to previously paying. He looked really good and appeared happy so I paid without hesitation. The reason for the 3, and not 4 star review, is that I didn't realize until later that night that my dog had been cut in two places on his underbelly. It's not uncommon for a tiny knick during a groom session for any dog, but I was upset that nothing was brought to my attention. My dog is used to being groomed every few weeks and its rare to see something like that on him.
