Sad day change my review... My puppy had a seizure this morning just a few hours after picking her up from here... 2nd time bringing our 9month old puppy to canine cowboy and sadly the last.. we left her for a short 4 day trip, and came back to seeing our pup without her fun energy, sad and with a bright red puffy eye, and her trying to rub her eyes on the floor and trying to itch them clearly uncomfortable... but I would have appreciated mentioning a concern that they noticed her eye oozing.. The picture received today was her sent was her sort of wet and her eye looking clearly oozy but gave the benefit of the doubt and didn't think much of it. The vet when we took her in as she had a seizure, they said she had inflammation, in her blood work, no infection only in the eye so we got prescribed an eye ointment. Inflammation they said could have been from her bumping heads with a dog or falling or something along those line, trying to not think worse. So she's on prednisone now for that inflammation.. My friend who picked her up last night said poppy was stand off ish when she grabbed her and was kind of scared of her which is never the case poppy loves people and her so it was weird to hear that. When we got home at 10:00 we noticed her eye puffy and her acting sad and off which is why we booked her vet for 11:00 this morning. This morning comes around 8:30am ish she had a seizure and took her in immediately. I don't recommend it here if you fear having your furbaby go through something this traumatic. $300 vet visit later and this experience. I would recommend to anyone. I did reach out to them and they just said she was fine the whole time she was there. But like I said you can clearly see in the picture they sent her eye and I could imagine she looked so tired and sad in all the pictures they sent.. I trusted them with her well-being and it's scary they don't know how to read if a dog is not doing okay, when as soon as we saw her we immediately knew.. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE!!! Our dog and our neighbors dogs both got sick here! We boarded our dog here for Memorial Day weekend since our typical boarding place, McKee's Pet Place, was booked that weekend. Upon picking up Ziggy and returning home, my wife noticed our dog had a cough. This was NEVER brought to our attention while we were away. When my wife called to inform them that our dog got sick at their facility, the owner told my wife, "we are not responsible for what happens to your dog while in our care." My wife then told the owner, "I'm gonna have to tell all the people that I referred to you, to not come here now." The owner responded, "I will take you to court for slander." My wife responded, "It's not slander when I'm telling people the truth." After that call, we proceeded to call our neighbor whom we recommended to use Canine Cowboy. She informed us that her dog Pepper came back one time from daycare and would not eat. Eventually the dog began pooping worms. Pepper got worms from Canine Cowboy. My neighbor had to spend hundreds to get her dog well again. As for Ziggy, we took him and got him tested and confirmed Kennel Cough, to which we've had to put him on antibiotics. This cost us another $204 on top of the crappy boarding. Our dog is still coughing, throwing up, and now wheezing. Canine Cowboy has refused to send me a copy of my intake paperwork I signed when I dropped off Ziggy. Canine cowboy has refused to take responsibility for getting our dog sick by allowing sick and non-vaccinated dogs at their facility. The owner, Erin, is completely unprofessional, abrasive, non-sympathetic, and rude. Run far from this place. They are not registered with the BBB. read more

I got a message that "Canine Cowboy would love your feedback".... Well, careful what you ask for, Cowboy, because here it comes... My dog got kicked out of Canine Cowboy today and it's total bullshit. The meet and greet a few days ago went great! Aside from not knowing until I arrived that it would only be for 2 hours (you should put that on the website), everything was fine and the two ladies I worked with were very nice. At the conclusion of the meet and greet, one employee said "he's super high energy and needs more socializing so coming to daycare will be really good for him". Then she tells me he is a PASS and is welcome to start coming for daycare or boarding. Fast forward 4 days and everything seems to have changed. When I arrived to pick up my dog I was met outside by a woman whom I had not yet met. She said "So this dog is new to you, right?". I said "I've had him for 6 months" she goes "yeah, so new". She then begins to explain to me the ins and outs of how dogs behave and essentially lectured me for about 3-5 mins. I have never felt so patronized by a business/employee. Once she was done imparting her wisdom upon me, she lets me know that my dog is not welcome to come back. Apparently his high energy and need for socializing, that was a PASS 4 days ago, is a FAIL today. Make that make sense! If I had know this woman's patronizing lecture was going to end in my dog getting kicked out, I wouldn't have sat there and taken that. Once she broke the news I simply asked "was he aggressive at all or show any signs of aggression" and I was told "no, not at all". So basically, my dog didn't do anything wrong, it's just based on the opinion of who is working on any given day, and whether or not that person thinks certain dogs are good enough to be there. Got it. They deleted my account online before I even got home. Worth mention... it's kind of a red flag that the "lobby is closed" and employees have to meet you outside. Why have a lobby if it's always "closed"? What don't you want people to see? 2 stars because 4 of the 5 employees I interacted with were nice and not condescending. read more

I was surprised by the negative reviews so wanted to share our experience with Erin and her staff at Canine Cowboy, which has always been positive. We've taken our two fur babies there many times over the past 3 years for both day care and boarding. The dogs are so excited when we pull up! They can't wait to play. When we pick them up, they're happy and tired. We're so glad to have a kennel-free place for them to board when we travel. Erin and her staff send us pictures each day, so we can see what they've been doing and how they look. Our dog, Sadie, who is rambunctious, got a cut while boarding last weekend. Erin sent a text and picture (see attached) to let us know what happened. We felt confident she was taken care of by the staff. read more

Having a BUSY lifestyle, as most of us do, I am new to the area from Dallas. I happen to see this place on my way to my newly built home and was so happy and couldn't wait to check it out, as it would be only 3-4mins from my home - PERFECT! PERFECT - NOT! They are not professional nor that friendly - but I still proceeded via the text chat. I needed him to be able to go somewhere that day because I did not want to leave him in the new home by himself that quickly. I had to drive back to Dallas for a few pickups, so it would be all day. I made my appt and drove there on my way out, relieved that he would have somewhere to go. I had to pay a $10 deposit - wtheck! But I did because I needed him to be somewhere other than alone. Got there and they stated it would be a 2hr meet and greet along - seriously people!!!???!! I had not time for that, I explained my situation and she rudely replied that we have to see how he interacts with them and other dogs. I said this is not his first rodeo, he has been going to daycare all his life and no matter how long you spend with him, he is going to act the same way; like a good little boy! They refused to take him in without meet and greet. Oh well, I thought. Requested my deposit back because I was not coming back! They refused and stated it says in the agreement I signed. I am to cancel 3days prior otherwise no refund. Great customer service, considering I could not use them and had to leave to find another alternative, why couldn't these @#%#$ make an exception to refund as a courtesy??? My thoughts exactly, because it is a place I would not want my baby to go. Also, to echo someone else's remarks, they don't get back to you nor are they good in responding. I don't trust them - just a heads up, you cannot see your dog playing prior to arrival to pick them up, it's like they are in prison and you literally have to stand outside and wait for them to bring your dog out to you - some shady #@@#@! I had a great experience with Canine Cowboy and my dog always seemed happy going. My only complaint with them is their professionalism. They are not the best at replying to you...in general. I tried to log in to make a boarding reservation and it seemed I had been revoked access. I called a total of 4 times and always got the same "we'll look into it and call you back answer". Nothing. I texted...also nothing. I've never had a business ghost me and if something happened with my dog while he was there I would have loved to know. It's a shame they're communication skills need improvement because the facility itself is great. read more

In my 20+ years of owning dogs, I've never experienced anything like this. Canine Cowboy is a harbor for festering bacteria and parasites. It is obvious now why they don't allow you to view the facility or enter the lobby. I boarded my dog here for a long weekend, he came home very sick with a severe case of kennel cough that needed medical treatment $$$. I personally know of other dogs who went only a couple of times just to daycare and contracted tapeworms and parasites and became extremely ill. Erin, the owner, is a poor excuse for a business owner and lacks empathy for any dog who gets sick at her facility. I made her aware that my dog got sick at her facility and asked why I wasn't notified that my dog was showing signs of sickness? She told me that she is not responsible for anything that happens to my dog while he is at their facility. I told her that I had to notify everyone I referred to her that my dog got sick at Canine Cowboy and she snapped back that she would sue me in a court of law for slander. Not only is she a bad owner she is very limited in common knowledge of anything and likes to threaten her customers. This place vets dogs only on their behavior and not for their health. Disgusting! I scheduled a meet and greet for my fur baby in hopes of finding a new place to drop him off when working late or traveling. I had high hopes for this place, but I was quite disappointed. I dropped him off on a Saturday afternoon and before I arrived home, I get a frantic voicemail that my dog (her words) fell off the couch and smacked his head on the floor. I live approximately 25 minute away, so I turned the car around and headed back to the house. Upon arriving, Erin comes out with my dog who is walking unsteady and I ask her again to tell me what happened. She tells me he was on the couch and jumped off and smacked his head on the floor. Now my dog jumps on and off the couch all day long without injuring himself, so I'm not sure what actually happened. On the ride home, my dog lay in my lap, which is highly unusual for him. He is usually standing on my lap looking out of the car window. When we arrived home, he lay down on the floor and did not move for several hours. It took him a few days to get back to normal, which is an active little dog. Pet owners, please beware. I would not recommend this place. read more
