We took my father-in-law here for dinner when traveling in the area. This is a very un fancy family style restaurant. Reasonably priced, it's been here for at least 50 years. The young lady who served us was very pleasant, the portions were large, and everyone enjoyed their dinner. They also have an in-house baker, and the desserts are excellent. Had a wonderful lunch today with a friend on the way back home from Indiana. The server was pleasant, took our orders quickly, and checked in with us often. We typically stop here when getting our annual Christmas tree. Food was not good this time. Roast beef special- dry and only a tiny bit of meat on the sandwich. Corned beef on the reuben was too salty and also short on meat. Fries were not hot. Kid ordered chicken nuggets- they ran out and came out with a tender that we had to cut up. Others kids burger was burnt and overcooked. Cooks were also yelling in the back- so unprofessional. I had the Roast Beef dinner with Mashed Potatoes/ gravy and corn and a salad/ Raspberry vinaigrette.My Wife had the Turkey Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes/ gravy on both. Bread and butter. Staff Our waiter was nice but only came to our table 2 times, once to order and again to check up on us. Meal: I ordered the New York Strip steak with shrimp. My sides where a baked potato , corn, and coleslaw. Steak: My steak was to be made med-well and it came to me well done and vary dried out and was tough to cut and tough to chew and had no flavor at all and I didn't finish it. There was no seasoning on the steak and the the one end was burnt. Before I cut into it, it looked like it may have been precooked days ago frozen and reheated in a microwave. Shrimp: Was comparable to any frozen shrimp you would buy in a store and fry. Baked potato: My baked potato came wrapped in foil, cut in half with some butter on it. The potato was vary dry, there was no moisture content at all. Corn: It was vary watery and had no flavor. Coleslaw: It was ok but it could have been better. read more

My wife and I live nearby, but have not dined here in 4 or 5 years. Previous attempts over the past 20 - 30 years have yielded an occasional OK meal, never special. Usually with at least one of us getting a really poor meal. On the advise of my son, we went there tonight. We were shocked at how good the food was. My salad was fresh and the blue cheese dressing was delicious. My wife is a picky eater, but she loved her country fried steak with sausage gravy. It was very tender and flavorful. I had the roast beef dinner and the beef also was very tender and delicious. It came out shredded and with a tasty gravy. I am a big eater and the serving was so large I had trouble finishing it. We both had home fries and were very good. This place is not fancy, but it is clean and the service was good. Prices are in line with Perkins, Eat'n Park, etc. Only negatives were the tea tasted like the pot needed cleaned. And dessert prices were very high, but with as large as the meal servings were, we did not have room for dessert. We will be back soon. read more

I've got mixed feelings on writing this. But maybe someone from Tina's will read this and fix a few things! When I got there with my mother, daughter, and daughter's friend, there was only one other table occupied. It was just after 4 on a Saturday. The other couple was clearly going to their Christmas formal after eating. We ordered as soon as our waitress mosied over. A few iced teas and a water. We also requests chips and salsa and Jalepeno poppers. They didn't take too long to come out. I did sit without any iced tea for a pretty long time as she's not quick with refills. A bit later, a few other families filed in. The people going to formal had 2 other couples come sit with them. A table next to us with 3 adults and a child. Another table with 3 adults, 3 children. ... we waited. And we waited. Orders were taken. We never really saw any food come out. Right before 5 pm one table had a few salads come out. Shortly after 5, our food game out. So just about 1 hour. I'd ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. (They offer a chicken wrap and also a buffalo chicken salad, so I'd asked for a buffalo chicken wrap- nothing too fancy?) My mom also got the buffalo chicken wrap. As did my daughter. Her friend got grilled cheese. Yes..this order took an hour. We ate. No other families had food yet. I should probably mention, my wrap was plain chicken. No buffalo chicken. ANd I also requested ranch (as did the other two, as there was none on the wrap) The french fries were not warm even a little bit. There only saving grace was the fact they were at least crunchy and I was HUNGRY! My mom enjoyed her wrap. My wrap was not terrible, other than the fact I'd really wanted a buffalo wrap. ANother table got their salads. Got up to pay. While at the register a woman who was visiting with the young couples going to formal came over and said that the kids had ordered chicken tenders and were still waiting. This had been over an hour at this point. She asked very nicely- and with more patience than I probably would have had- if they could put a rush on the order. The manager? owner? said, "I already put a rush on it. They're working on it" She said..well should they order something else? Something faster? Is there something they could order that would come out really fast?" I almost cracked up laughing when the woman recommended the ribs- since they are already done (tonight's special!) Yes..because ribs are super fantastic to eat when you are dressed in formal wear. My mom thought maybe they needed more help in the kitchen, but it wasn't even so much as they were busy. There was NO food coming out...So I'm not sure what the hold up was? The fact that they were so nonchallant about the food taking forever and the kiddos going to formal turned me off. She should have given a reason and acted like she cared. read more

Place was somewhat busy on a Sunday afternoon. Waitress was polite but overwhelmed maybe because the place did not have enough waitresses or whatever the reason. Food took nearly an hour to come out. Ordered 3 dishes of ice cream for three little kids ages 2,4, and 6. Ice cream came out. As one child was eating I saw something funny in the ice cream. A long piece of metal was in her ice cream. The ice cream scoop had broken when they scooped it and pieces of metal were in her dish. As soon as I noticed it and pulled it out one of the other children found a small piece of metal in her mouth. I made them stop eating. I showed the waitress and she took the metal pieces. No apology. No new ice cream. I spoke to the owner when checking out. Again no apology or anything. I asked if she at least comped the ice cream. She said kids meals include free ice cream anyway. The restaurant is very cute but the food was possibly the worst I have ever had. I got a burger that I wound up taking one bite out of and not eating, it tasted like the meat was bad, it didn't even smell right. My son got beef tips that were smothered in peppers and onions and hardly any meat at all and it was cold. The fries and coleslaw were very good and the waitress did remove the cost of the burger from our bill but it hardly put a dent in the bill, it was still $26 for the two of us for a meal we didn't even eat. The woman behind the counter that took our bill looked like she was ready to rip someones head off, she was not very pleasant at all. We wont be back. read more

Waitresses are rude, they show no emotion/personality. They don't care much about the customers well being at all. Have only been there twice & both times the food wasn't good or had no flavor at all, & they were two totally different meals. Bread was hard, meatloaf was very artificial & dry, I can't even describe the taste of the gravy besides unpleasant, green beans literally tasted like nothing; very bland. When we first walked into the restaurant, it smelled like a dirty restroom. Dirty diapers to be more specific. The first time we went, the waitress asked my husband what I wanted to drink rather than asking me herself. Second time we got take out, she didn't ask my name on the phone. When we got there & I said that we had an order for pick up, her response was "yeah" then she threw me the receipt, & the food was already on the counter when we got there. We called 20 mins in advanced, so not sure how long our food just sat on the counter. Food was cold though. I heard this place used to be good until the new owner 5-6 years ago. First and last time I'll ever step foot in Thee Log Cabin in Elderton. It was 755 when we walked in, mind you they don't close til 9, and the owner and both waitresses started complaining that they weren't getting out on time. Waitress comes over a few moments later and I immediately say you don't close til 9 right? She says yes, takes our drink orders, and proceeds. We wait another few minutes before she decides to come back to take our order and overhear that their credit card machine "isn't working". Glad we didn't order because we don't carry cash and would have had no money to pay, but you didn't tell us until we asked about it. Hope your inconsiderate ways change because we looked forward to dinner and you just lost at least 30-40 dollars of business. I posted on their Facebook page a review of bad service and got even worse treatment from supposedly the owner. Terrible management!!! Good riddance!!! read more
