This is a small clinic but they come with everything other standard veterinary clinics may have. He even carries the most recent flea and tick preventatives. I got Bravecto (the exact kind I get in the US) for HALF the price they charge me in SD. Vaccinations are BEYOND affordable at 150 pesos (about $7) per vaccination. You receive a vaccination card and all possible proof of vaccinations for when you cross back. He also includes the sticker from the vaccination bottle for even further proof. This clinic also offers grooming services. Dr Martinez cut my dogs nails efficiently and quickly for only $5! Any vet in the US will charge double to TRIPLE that. Dr. Martinez is thorough and knowledgeable. He doesn't want to charge you for unnecessary treatments and will work with you to solve any issues at the lowest cost. His credentials are available online so you know he's a trusted certified veterinarian. If you want good veterinary care without feeling ripped off or don't have hundreds to pay for every vet check then coming here is a great option for anyone!

By far the BEST grooming my boys has gotten. When we dropped them off she said it'll take time because she is very careful. Hearing that already told me my boys will be in good hands. And they were! Medical Pet was the only one that answered and even though they were fully booked and closing in less than an hour, they still squeezed my doggy in and saw her. I was so happy when I arrived, the staff was extremely accommodating and wonderful. The clinic is very clean and has parking out front. Only about 10 mins from the border. I paid $160USD for the initial visit which covered the check-up, x-rays, and medications. Extremely affordable and fair pricing. My dog already had stitches on her cheek from another incident and the doctor offered to take them out at a later date. I went back a week after and they didn't charge me anything. She got her stitches at another vet in Poway (we paid $1100 for that visit, NEVER AGAIN). I can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be bringing my puppies here for any veterinarian needs.

I went to several other places and was turned away, but the receptionist at Hospivet was truly my hero. She went above and beyond to get Chili seen **as a walk-in without an appointment** when we desperately needed help. I will never forget that kindness. The price was a little high, but it was still **far more affordable than what veterinarians in California were quoting me**, and I am very thankful we were able to get Chili the treatment he needed. Dr. Gutierrez did an amazing job with Chili's first surgery. She took the time to explain what was going on with Chili and helped me understand the situation. I also really appreciated that they sent me a **video and a picture of Chili the following day**. As a worried pet parent, being able to see him and know how he was doing meant so much to me. Chili is definitely a little stubborn--he has been giving them a hard time about keeping his muzzle on--but the staff has been patient and is working on other options to keep him comfortable and safe. We are currently waiting for a response regarding Chili's **second surgery**, so we are still hoping and praying everything works out. She was kind, compassionate, spoke perfect English, kept us updated throughout the visit, and took the time to explain our dog's condition and treatment plan clearly. She made an incredibly stressful situation much easier, and we're very grateful for the care she provided. We also saw the cardiologist while we were there. Although he seemed knowledgeable, he wasn't very friendly and often appeared annoyed when we asked questions. As worried pet owners, we were simply trying to understand our dog's condition, so his attitude was disappointing. Unfortunately, our recent experiences with the front desk have been frustrating. Last month, when our dog needed to be seen urgently, we couldn't get an appointment. The receptionist told us to take her to another clinic. We requested a referral, but our message was completely ignored. This week, I tried scheduling an appointment a few days in advance. The receptionist asked for my name and my dog's name so she could look us up in the system. After I provided the information, she never responded back. I followed up the next morning, and my message was still ignored. This was a completely different experience from the receptionist we dealt with four months ago, who always responded promptly and was very helpful. Dr. Sayra deserves five stars for her excellent care, but the lack of communication and responsiveness from the front desk has been very disappointing. When you're dealing with a sick pet, timely communication matters just as much as good medical care. I hope the clinic improves its customer service because their veterinarians deserve better support. I'd recommend to go down the street to New Vet. They are helpful and responsive!
