Brought my dog here for a dental cleaning and a possible extraction. Since she would be under anesthesia, I asked for her nails to be trimmed so it would be easier on our dog. Groomers and myself have a hard time trimming them, because shes had a bad experience and ever since it's been tough. They told us to come 09/01 to bring her in for her cleaning. We bring her and front desk told us she'll possibly be done by 3pm. We get a call that there were other pets that had emergencies. We completely understand, but now she'd be done or out by 6-7pm. This entire process took us 12 hours. While her being under anesthesia would be the best outcome for a dog since they wouldn't be moving, they did not care AT ALL about her quicks. I understand that vets/vet techs are challenged with dark nails. But nails were shaven down extremely too short and uneven. She bled on all her nails. It sucks for those who also had a bad experience, everything in front desk felt absolutely rushed. We were speaking to too many different people at a time. Im also unsure if they treated her well during her dental cleaning if this is what her nails look like. I haven't gotten to look at her teeth yet since she's been exhausted after her appt yesterday. Dog fell ill and my typical vet couldn't see me. Dr Zoo got me in and out within a hour. The wait was about 30 minutes. The place was packed when I came here on a Saturday around 3pm. The care I received was fantastic. The doctor seemed to be really excited to be at work which is refreshing. We were prescribed a few pills and instructions. The front desk took care of payment. The whole experience was great. Price was a little pricey but to get in and out within a hour as a walk in, I think it was pretty fair. Staff speaks English if you're wondering. There's a small wait room inside and a large plaza outside. There a parking lot and you have to pay to park. read more

Please don't bring your pets here. I sent in my baby and she had to be hospitalized which I agreed on I told them she has anemia and she refused to eat so her condition would just get worse. The "vet" said he stated her anemia wasn't too bad and it shouldn't be such a huge concern. She stayed 4 days, like I said she was already skinny, already anemic and already underweight. When she came back home she had lost 20% of her body weight, looked worse than when I brought her in, her hemoglobin went from 9.7 to 7.8 (they said they were giving her vitamins and supplements through her IV) she declined so fast to the point she can't even get up. I had to call over 15 times consecutively for them to MAYBE pick up the phone. They refuse to give any other update if the main vet is "occupied" with other patients (which is damn near every fucking time) and no other vet can treat her besides the one she was assigned to. Deadlines were a joke, we will update you in 20 minutes, 4 hours will go by and nothing they would not even pick up the phone even for something as critical as final report of the test took 96 hours when I was told 24 hours AFTER being discharged. I tried to advocate for my baby SO HARD I would lose it asking for a feeding tube, blood transfusion or medication to increase red blood cells and I was shut down EVERY time. Now my pet is fighting for her life, I'm so angry, so frustrated and feel like I've failed her for trusting these so called "professionals" If you needed a sign as to which vet to choose please please please let it be that this place IS NOT IT. read more

I brought my cat here with his urinary problems barely alive, after US vet clinics ripped me off for $3000 total and after that told me that he gonna die if I am not willing to pay for surgery. I was desperate because I spent all my savings for my cat's issues and didn't know what else to do. Dr Zoo vet clinics have really affordable prices and they took care about my cat for a couple of weeks. Finally they did surgery for him and I brought him back. Brought my chihuahua here for a dental cleaning. When I came to pick him up they told me I was free to go. When I paid they told me that the medicine he was going to be sent home with were included in the price, which is a lie cause I had to pay for the medicine. Then they didn't know anything about the procedure he had done. When I asked how many teeth were pulled their answer was I don't know. How can you not know? I get it they are busy but at least write it down somewhere. I called the next day and they told me the surgeon wouldn't be in until 10am. Dr.Zoo used to be one of the best. We have been going to him for over 12 years. Today was our last visit. I believe the care has gone down tremendously. Very unprofessional environment when doctors/ nurses are standing around gossiping in front of clients. We waited for over an hour for a follow up visit even though there were exam rooms and Drs available just standing around. Our visit was for bronchitis follow up and when we were finally seen, the doctor asked us if we were there to remove stitches. Somewhat alarming, makes one question the quality of service you will get. Hopefully Dr. Zoo reads the reviews and does an overhaul and returns to his roots. Had the best experience here this week bringing in my 5 year old pug for emergency services. He had a severe urinary blockage with multiple organ failure and they saved my dogs life at Dr. Zoo. I'm not sure why this place has bad reviews. I have a 90 lb cane corso, lots of people are scared of her but she is very gentle. I brought my dog here after she started coughing during the day and progressively got worst through the night. She had a horrible cough, it sounded like she was choking and was throwing up every 5 minutes. The Vet here was able to take her body temperature and listened to her heart and lungs. In the past other places won't give her a full exam because they are scared. But here they took xrays of her and were able to see she had an upper respiratory infection and was running a fever. They gave her 10 days worth of meds and went back for a 5 day check up. Her cough improved after 1 day of being on meds. They are reasonably priced compared to vet clinics in San Diego. read more

I brought my cat in once for GI issues and many times for his routine bath & hair cut. I felt his care was thorough, and he stayed several days for observation when he was seen for GI issues. The doctor (vet) informed me that I would get a call to let me know if he would have to stay overnight. I never got a call and I called many times throughout the day to try and get ahold of someone regarding the care of my cat. I mentioned this to my friend who referred me here, and she called the vet for me. She received an answer and relayed the message. I didn't think too much into this oddity as I was just grateful that my cat was in good care. Fast forward to now and receiving routine grooming services, I've experienced the same unreliable communications. I think the issue lies with one of the desk girls who doesn't pick up phone calls. The most recent experience I had was trying to book an appt for my cats usual. Initially, she had said at 12:00pm and as we conversated I ask her about services for my other cat she tells me my cat can't be seen that day at all. I found this to be absurd and replied thanks and bye. After failed attempts at booking at another place and unable due to holiday closures I decided to call back this place again and get at least one of my cats into the groomers today. My phone calls were never answered and I had to get my friend to book the appt for me. She was able to do so without any issue. Fair warning, they killed my dog, they charged me almost double price, They promised her remains and lost them and now they blame me. I've had two experiences with this vet and the first one should have been the sign for me. In November of 2023 I had a C-section and it was already 5:00 p.m. we had called and explained the situation, they told us to head on over and they quoted us approximately 8,500 pesos. We told them we were one hour away and they said that would be fine. Once we arrived we were charged more, the total came out to over 12,000 pesos. I was very disappointed at the bait and switch and expressed to them we were quoted a specific price and they knew we were on the way. These are situations where they knowingly are doing this because once you spend one hour on the road with the dog and labor time is of the essence and they know you can't just leave and go somewhere else. Luckily all went well with my dog and I came home with her puppies. Now in June of this year I went with another female and we did the exact same thing, we called and got quoted prices of $10,000 to 13,000 pesos. This time they acknowledge the prices are higher and just like the prior time we told them we are about 1 hour away and we're leaving right now. Once we were about 15 minutes away we called just to make sure they still had room for us and they said they were waiting. When we showed up it was extremely busy and I actually was in the waiting room for about 20 minutes before they even helped me. Once the time came they did the exact same bait and switch. Quoted 10 to 13,000 pesos over the phone but then they charged me over $19,000 pesos. I'm looking at a difference of $400 which is no joke over there and I do believe it's clearly something they do to americans. I proceeded to argue with them and let them know that they're being shady and they quoted me different pricing and this is the second time they're doing this. They claim the charges more because it's Sunday evening even though we had called one hour prior to arriving. To top it off I proceeded with the C-section because of course I have no choice and my dog ended up dying under the knife. They had absolutely no explanation as to why My girl died. She had No signs of distress, Just the start of Labor And One puppy Working its way out. They did an x-ray and saw there was a puppy in the canal so they proceeded with the C-section immediately. She had no signs of infection and her uterus was not ruptured although they showed me a section of the uterus that looked damaged but doesn't justify my dog dying. I've been doing this for over 20 years and I acknowledge that dogs can die during surgery, but after all the Shady things they did and upcharging me I now question if their vets are even as knowledgeable and experienced as they act. The next Fiasco is the owner trying to charge me an extra $200 for cremated remains. I was quite shocked that there was no empathy whatsoever. I explained to him how I just paid almost $400 more than they quoted me and my dog is dead and now they want more money out of me? He then lowered it to $100 and I just laughed at him. I told him he needs to be a little bit more empathetic and compassionate as an owner and understand when you lie to a customer and deceive them to get them to come in and charge them significantly more and then the dog dies maybe you should have a little bit of Common Sense and not try to get more money out of them. He ended up agreeing and told me they would cover the remains. He forwarded me to one of the secretaries who had me fill out paperwork for her remains, the basic stuff of putting the dogs age and name and picking the urn. She told me they would call me in a couple weeks when they are ready with her remains to be picked up. It's been over 2 months and all we get is the runaround. The first few times we called we were told they can't find it and to call back. Today we finally spoke to the owner and go figure the same guy who told me he would cover the cremated remains is now saying that I never asked for her remains back. How he could forget that conversation is impossible, he's clearly lying. At this point I have no choice but to file a dispute with my credit card, not sure if I would win but it's still worth the try and all I can do is warn others. Don't use them for any life relying services and any quote you get over the phone is going to end up being a trick just to get you there. read more

DON'T BRING YOUR PETS HERE. My dog Penny was misdiagnosed by Dr. Zoo in Tijuana, the only 24-hour vet in TJ. They would have killed her for no reason due to their lack of knowledge. I took Penny to her main vet, Dr. Alexander in Tijuana, this morning, and he knew that Penny did not have GDV as she would have been dead by now. Penny is a pitbull-boxer mix that does not do well in the heat. Due to her breed, they create a lot of saliva, which caused her stomach to be full of foam. This was removed during her consultation today with her primary vet. It is insane that I was given a misdiagnosis by another vet who would have done surgery on Penny and possibly ended her life for no reason, I had a hunch to not trust their opinion and wait for a second opinion, and I must say THANK GOD I DID!! They didn't even know how to read her X-rays at Dr. Zoo. As soon as her primary vet saw her X-rays today, he knew she was misdiagnosed. Thank God. I recommend this Vet! I live in Dan Diego County and drive to Tijuana to this clinic ! It is so inexpensive, it's clean , once you cross border it takes about 5 minutes to get to vet . Pay parking is about 50 cents . The clinic is clean and all the staff I so kind , I have taken my three frenchies and my Belgium For stiches for collapsed butt, ear infections , X-rays and shots super inexpensive . They are incredibly cheap as the hoarding is only like fifteen dollars per night and the grooming is seventeen dollars. Love these people! My four-legged pal Bullet was treated and cared for by this fine establishment. Two days before this past Christmas, Bullet was diagnosed with malignant cancerous tumors and had one that, within a weeks time, grew to the size of a golf ball on his right hind leg becoming red, inflamed and weeping. Bullet's pain was obvious as he laid on his bed and trying not to move his leg. Needless to say, spur of the moment, I made the phone call and within an hour, Bullet and I were at their clinic and he had already been given two shots, one for pain and the other antibiotics. Two days later, we were back.......it was "surgery day!" They kept Bullet for three days during observation and then after that, we were able to bring him home. Bullet was sent home with antibiotics and pain meds. Bullet's leg surgical site healed nicely and his energy level is close to 100%. This clinic is polite & professional and they are truly compassionate about helping animals which in turn, helps us humans. :-) I'll be taking Bullet back in the very near future for his check-ups and though at times it's a bit painstaking to make it back home, the "no-fuss" care is worth it!
